18/05/2025: We went to the Peppermill on our 12th day in Ireland. And this is one of my favorite places we have ate at. The atmosphere is light and cheery, the food is beautifully plated and tastes delicious. If you are there definitely get the dessert also! All food is homemade!

10/06/2025: Stayed here for one night, the beds were comfy and the rooms were spacious. We requested an extra bed and this was provided at no extra cost. The breakfast was delicious and cooked to order. The staff are really lovely too!

12/03/2025: We had an evening meal here. The services were excellent. A lot of salt / seasoning used on elements of food, particularly starter warm bread. Perhaps more noticeable as we do not use salt at home. Meals we had were excellent...., BUT we still can not accept or figure out why a steak attracts such a high supplementary charge almost everywhere in Ireland.. I just can not figure out or justify this practice. The garden room is lovely but was a tad cool to dine in (We're not heat fanatics ), We overheard others comment re this also. Perhaps a fire effect heater might help. A lovely dining experience and meal overall.

The Derg Inn
28/05/2025: Had another lovely evening in the Derg Inn in Terryglass. The restaurant itself is so inviting and comfortable, and there's a warm welcome form the staff. The meal was fantastic..from cajun prawn tacos for starters, then seabass in dill and lemon butter, prawns, a cream sauce, and so much more. I couldn't resist desert (even though the portions are really generous). I went for the cheesecake which was beautiful...in taste and in presentation! Well worth a visit - you won't be disappointed!

26/05/2025: If you enjoy raw, greasy rashers, plates so scalding hot, they continue to cook the eggs and abysmal service, then look no further than Murphys. One breakfast was cremated, left lying under the hot plate that resulted in my 80 year old Mum burning the inside of her mouth. Food swimming in grease soft poached eggs were more like hard, anaemic looking yolks. Sent back only to then be served two hard yolks swimming in raw snot. Waitress that took our money couldn't take it quick enough, didn't ask how it was and walked away when I complained. Rude, bad service and appalling food. Will not be returning.
