23/03/2025: Después de comer en numerosos pubs para el almuerzo y tener carne / marisco para varias cenas seguidas, necesitábamos insertar un poco de italiano. Las pastas son buenas, y las pizzas geniales (GF opciones! ). Céntrico y fácil de encontrar.

02/02/2025: Lovely little restaurant set in Sundrive. Food is amazing, staff are so friendly and helpful and make you feel instantly comfortable. Nothing is too much trouble for them. Great food and great prices. A true little gem

10/03/2025: Food used to be great but is now way over priced for what's offered. The pine nut butter on the chicken and waffles is something that would turn you off food altogether, must have been approved by someone without a tongue to taste it

08/03/2025: Don’t go pre rugby. We had a table booked for 12.30. Food still not arrived by just before 2pm so we had to leave. Felt bad, but on rugby days, please launch a reduced menu for the few hours before the game. Lots of other tables seemed to leave early too.

11/03/2025: Best late night slice of pizza in Dublin! My go to on a night out. Once overcharged me €68.50 instead of €8.50 but they were very quick to issue a refund. Cannot recommend enough

07/03/2025: Good New York style pizza, the slice is quite substantial. You can get two if you are really hungry. Service is quick. It is no longer a cheap option though, like everything the prices have gone up. They should write descriptions of the pizza slices on the little name cards. It can be difficult to tell what is on the pizza, the names are just made up NY themed things.

20/03/2025: Great food - This restaurant has all the great Italian dishes on the menu.. Stand out was the arrancini!!! The waiters were so attentive and friendly

15/03/2025: A lovely little find near Temple Bar, staff were very friendly, large menu with lots of choice and reasonably priced. I opted for spaghetti carbonara, my husband had a pizza and son had kids bolognese. Food was well presented and very tasty, we all left with very full tummys. My son who is very picky said he would give them 10/10 for their spaghetti bolognese.

14/02/2025: Muy decepcionado esta noche 14 de febrero. Mi esposa y yo fuimos aquí y después de casi 2 horas nos fuimos ya que no eran capaces de servir el plato principal. Nos dijeron que su negocio de comida para llevar estaba muy ocupado a pesar de que el restaurante estaba lleno. ¡Si quieres ser un take away conviértete en un chipper! Chefs campana sonó sin parar ya que nadie quería recoger mesas de cenas. Aquí hay un consejo y una pista de alto secreto. Navidad es el 25 de diciembre (personal arriba), San Valentín es el 14 de febrero. Gran propina NO CAMBIAN DE AÑO EN AÑO. Prepárese y deje de quejarse de los pedidos para llevar cuando los clientes sentados se quejan y se van. No volveremos en el futuro.

02/03/2025: I've just come home from having a meal with 3 friends in this restaurant and we didn't have a great experience. We didn't book a table but they fit us in as it was busy but told us they needed the table back by 6pm which was no problem for us. Our order was taken by a young server who really didn't have good English and he confused us beyond belief, he asked if we wanted everything together and we presumed the bill so said yes but he meant to food & as a result all the starters and mains came out at the same time which was ridiculous. When I started to explain we didn't want everything together I got a very rude reply from someone I presume was a manager, I then queried if there was chicken added into my pasta and the guy shouted there is chicken. Our mains were left there even though I asked for them to be taken back & served after starters so our food was cold when we ate it. Common sense would should prevail in restaurant that you would think they know how to serve food. The server couldn't speak correct English and others servers were pure rude & it took away from our dining experience. I won't be going back anytime soon !

01/03/2025: My husband and I had lunch here and were so disappointed with the quality of the food. I ordered the salmon and asked to swap the chips for the lemon mashed potato. The salmon fillet was small and tasted dry - if I was to guess it had been frozen. The mashed potato was bland and the portion was small - approximately two dessert spoons. I asked for more mashed potato, the server said no problem and promptly brought it out on a plate with a bit of side salad a couple of minutes after my request. I asked the waiter where the salmon was sourced from (as on the menu it says fish sourced locally) to which he replied he didn't know but it's Irish. I asked if he knew where in Ireland and he said no but it's Irish. I said most restaurants would know where it was sourced but he was disinterested and had no intention of finding out. A bit irritated I asked if it was frozen but he said no... My husband had chicken wings to start with (again portion size was small for the price) and he had a pasta dish for main which he said tasted nice. We didn't have dessert as I hadn't enjoyed my main course and my husband wasn't overly impressed with his starter. When the bill arrived, I had been charged €6 for the extra mash potato - I flagged to our waiter the initial portion of potato was very small - he subsequently spoke to the owner who said they'd take €1 off the price of it. Overall this was a really disappointing meal. The quality was poor, the staff's knowledge of where the food has been sourced was non existent and I really would not recommend this restaurant. There was only one other person in the restaurant with us on this Friday afternoon but I say due to the good location it would be much busier in the evenings.

06/03/2025: 4 of us came here for drinks with a view & walked straight past as its not obvious where it is. You need to take the lift up from inside The Dean. Lovely view at the top with a fair selection of drinks including my new favourite Sarti Spritz. We were between meals but would probably have eaten bar snacks if there were any on the menu. The food looked nice but not a massive selection. We took a detour to the waterfall in nearby Iveagh gardens afterwards which was nice.

02/03/2025: It was a beautiful place to dine in with a full view of Dublin skyline. Our service table Veronica was very helpful and nice. The food was also fine and not pricey.

17/03/2025: Hemos estado yendo a este restaurante durante mucho tiempo . . las últimas 3 veces ha sido muy estresante y poco profesional. Hoy estuvimos allí una hora (mesa reservada) y pedimos pagar la cuenta , luego pedimos pasar a una mesa de repuesto ya que estábamos tardando demasiado. . cuando nos fuimos la camarera tiró nuestra tarjeta y recibo sobre la mesa . También me dijeron al salir "oh pensé que ibas a sentarte de nuevo" servicio muy grosero. La comida siempre es buena, pero el servicio es terrible

18/02/2025: WOW! What’s not to like. Myself and partner were passing through Monkstown early Sunday evening and spotted Osteria…not going to lie the name and message on the chalkboard drew us in. We love to happen upon gems like this one. And we were not disappointed, a warm welcome by Mr Long into a beautiful and charming restaurant. The early bird menu runs til closing and the la carte is extensive, excellent choices of wines, beers & cocktails from a delightful bar. Several locals came arrived after us and it’s easy to see why they choose Osteria as their favourite restaurant. Food was devine, that home cooked taste and we left not a morsel. 3 courses each, bottle of Pelegrino and two fine glasses of Merlot came in at €90. We love to dine out and agreed Osteria 99 is by far the best new addition to our favourite restaurants, food was well presented and flavourful, cooked to perfection and the addition of a tasty pre-appetiser was lovely, and despite being from north county Dublin we will 100% be back with friends very soon. Thanks Mr Long & team.

25/12/2024: Came here for Christmas Eve. It was properly the worst meal I have had in my life. The food was clearly frozen and re heated, absolutely nothing was fresh. We had a mixture of differnt plates the ravioli had no taste to it what so ever. The veal was a tiny slither of veal and batter and came with what we described it as spaghetti hoops, we also had the seafood paella it was clearly frozen. There was 6 of us and we all left after our mains because the food was that bad. I was so disappointed as I have heard great things about here but it was awful. The wine was lovely and the staff were fantastic and the service was great but the food was absolutely disgusting.
