The best restaurants in Tralee

16/09/2025: Edited review: I provided an honest review of our experience at this establishment last week, which you can find below. The management replied to this response, which can be seen in the attached photo. I have since updated the star rating from 2 stars to 1 because of this response. The response had an apology for our experience, yet in the next sentence stated we imagined our waitress rolled her eyes, because that is uncharacteristic of her. There was no accountability taken for the fact that a portion of my meal was missing, the fact that she wanted to charge us for the missing food that is stated in the menu as part of the meal, or for the other rude behaviors displayed by this staff member. All of which must be typical behavior if the eye roll was the only thing management couldn't believe happened during our experience. The management also called our experience an isolated incident. However, there are other numerous reviews within the past few months stating terrible service was received. These reviews can be found on both this site and other travel sites. My recommendation is to avoid this place if you can. The food is not worth the terrible in-person experience (especially for the high prices!) or the post-visit message from the management insinuating you are lying when an issue is addressed. .................. Original Review: The food was delicious and cooked perfectly. It also came out very quickly. It was a bit pricey, though. For two people, we spent 75.50 euros (88.50 USD) We don't mind spending that amount when the food is good with decent service. However, the service tonight (Sept 6th) was terrible. A gentleman seated us right away and was polite. Our waitress (the brunette) didn't welcome us or even tell us her name. She walked up and said "You know what you want?" My husband ordered the steak sandwich, and I ordered the 8oz steak. I asked her what came on the salad that was part of both of our meals and she snapped at me, "I don't know it's just a regular side salad!" She then walked away to place our orders. Someone else brought us our drinks and another person brought our meals. We had to wave at her to finally get her attention. I mentioned that I did not receive the salad with my meal. She rolled her eyes and walked into the back. She came back a couple of minutes later and said, "You get either the potatoes or the salad." I started to reply, "Oh, the menu said-" She cut me off and said, "It'll be an extra charge. You want it or not?" So I tried to explain again, "No, the menu says-" but she turned and walked away. She did not stop by our table again until someone else cleared our plates and dropped off a dessert menu. My husband ordered dessert, then we had to wait another 15 minutes after he was finished with it before we could finally wave her down to get our bill. While the food was good, we certainly won't be back here when in Tralee.

07/09/2025: Very nice food triple cooked chips were insane best I've ever had. Flavours and quality of food was exceptional all round. Lovely attentive staff very good service.

07/08/2025: It’s being my second time in this place. They make a beautiful sandwich. So fresh and tasty. So relaxing and staff so friendly. Someone recommended this place to me and so reasonable. I would be going there again. Fabulous spot.

13/07/2025: The best catering service in town! The service was seamless from start to finish. Everyone we delt with was so helpful and pleasant. The food was absolutely out of this world, they really go the extra mile with presentation! Will absolutely be returning for future events!

02/06/2025: I booked Catering Tralee for a birthday party in May based on the good reviews I had read about their services. I’m glad I chose them as they delivered great food with excellent service at a reasonable price. I ordered a variety of finger food, salads and hot food. It was all delicious, fresh and well presented. I had lots of leftovers and all guests complimented the food. I had not hired caterers in the past but would highly recommend this business now to anyone planning a party or celebration at home. The owners are professional, punctual and very competent at delivering excellent catering.

12/06/2025: Great atmosphere, trad music where customers were invited to sing if they wanted to or respectfully watch and enjoy the atmosphere. Great drink and great, friendly service.

19/02/2025: We purchased the ragu lasagna, eggplant parmigiana and a slice of the rosemary focaccia. What a feast! Huge portions, incredible flavour. Can't wait to return!

26/01/2025: Convivium catered a party for us this weekend. We ordered antipasti platters which were a big hit with everyone. The quality of the food and service is exceptional. Thanks so much!

29/08/2025: A cozy little shop where they're very friendly and helpful. We tried to bring our stroller in, but it wouldn't fit through the door. They'd have removed it 😀 The food is good, nothing special, just good value for a reasonable price. Coffee refills are free.

25/07/2025: Basic (frozen) food for the high price paid (family of 5, 5 soft drinks). However staff were friendly and helpful. Appeared busy so we enjoyed eating outside with our dog in company. Suggestion to owner, have a dog bowl outside, please improve quality/freshness of food.

07/09/2025: Great spot for a coffee. Staff are very welcoming and friendly. Lovely flat whites & cortados. Love the atmosphere too. Upbeat & chill.

04/09/2025: Cute cafe with delicious sweet treats and lovely hot drinks for a morning wake up❤️They played music by DJO so they obviously have good taste! 10/10

13/07/2025: The food here was absolutely gorgeous! My partner got a roll with mash chicken gravy and stuffing and he is still craving it! Ye are sadly closed tomorrow when we leave but we will definitely be back!

25/07/2025: Would definitely put this as the top place in Tralee for any planned parties or a bit! Had day 2 of the wedding there and Neil & the lads looked after us excellently!! They had us hooked from the minute we went in the door lastbyear to scope out venues for Day 2. Great areas in McCaffreys and the option to spread out to the yard bar or Sean Ogs is fantastic too. Neil is some operator to manage the lot but every one at the bar is tuned in yo be fair

05/06/2025: What a brilliant bar and staff. Neil aka the flash was very helpful and gave us all the best tips. He even left the bar to check out what live music was going in the surrounding bars.

23/08/2025: Greyhound racing with betting is something not to be missed in Ireland. You can eat on site at the restaurant, where the staff is friendly. Expect to pay around 40 euros to see the 10 races and the meal. 3 hours of discovery!!!
