The best restaurants in Kilkenny

15/11/2025: The last few times I have went here the food was barely ok . Meal was dry portion small. Choice was small. This place used to be great but not any more desserts took 40 mins to come out I will not be coming again . This use to be my favourite hotel. Went back again and will never eat hear again . The beef was dry the rest was OK very disappointing

12/11/2025: Went there this week and had dinner for two nights, we nearly missed due to the low rate, however I had to make a review! Food was so good, the service was excellent, they accommodate all our needs and were so gentle with our toddler making everything easier for us. The toddler food was gorgeous and there was so many options. I had the salmon and the curry , my husband had the hambúrguer and the salad (for the two nights) and we were not disappointed the 2 nights the food was exceptional! Really made our stay in the hotel easy as we did not had to go out for dinner having such great restaurant there.

14/01/2026: I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Nostalgia Coffee on High Street, Kilkenny. After ordering chips and two sausages, I noticed the sausages on another customer’s plate looked very small and unappealing, so I asked if it was possible to change my order. I was told the sausages were already on, and I said that if that was the case, it was okay. When my food arrived, the sausages were skinless and of very poor quality. I called the staff member over and politely said I didn’t like them and asked if they could be changed. I was told, “they’re the only sausages we have,” and she walked away without offering any alternative. I was then told I could have beans instead and that I would not be charged for them since I didn’t like the sausages. The portion of chips served was extremely small "children’s menu" yet I was charged €5.45 for a “small chips.” The beans were clearly microwaved, with a thick skin on top and stuck to the bowl, making them inedible. I took one bite of a sausage and had to leave the rest it was obvious they were not eaten. At the till, despite being told I would not be charged for the beans, I was charged €2 for them simply because I hadn’t eaten the sausages. This felt very unfair and inconsistent. My partner’s soup (€8.45) was extremely watery, and the bread roll served with it was clearly reheated, piping hot, and burnt. To top it off, I was charged over €4.25c for a small bottle of Coke, plus a deposit. The total came to €20.30, yet the only thing I could eat from my plate was the chips. Between the poor food quality, tiny portions, reheated bread, watery soup, and contradictory customer service, this was a very disappointing experience. I won’t be returning. Also to mention the sign in the toilet that if your not a customer you will be charged 50cent. I think the ladies knew I was very annoyed leaving, but still didnt stop to help or even ask was everything ok. Never again

04/12/2025: 2 stars as the ladies working there were very attentive and overall lovely. I ordered a cappucino for take away but by the taste and look of it it seemed to have been an Americano with milk..which I paid over 5 euro for and even at that it was below average in taste.. I got a pastry with it which only at home I realised tasted dry, nearly tasteless, and stale. I tried to heat it up but it was so unpleasant that I ended up just throwing it out. 10 euro spent on something I could get better quality of at a petrol station. Very disappointing and will not visit again.

01/09/2025: The hot and sour soup was hot and delicious (just a bit salty). The hostess was very friendly and helpful.

20/12/2025: I can’t understand the negative comments about shimla Indian restaurant Kilkenny, i love proper Indian ingredients and this is very tasty 👍 perhaps the opposition are a bit nasty with their opinions?? Delicious

14/12/2025: Food Quality is very bad, I will not recommend this restaurant because they are not using hygiene products for cooking and meat is also not fresh.

01/01/2026: I seriously. Do not know what you talking about, other reviewers. Delicious and always what I wanted and got. From taco fries to diner kebab and chicken baguette is great too. Always a thank you from my way to you.

28/09/2025: The most disgusting place I have ever stayed. We opened up the drawer beside the bed to find green mould. There was stains all over the carpets and walls. The shower door nearly fell down on top of me. However we did get great entertainment out of reading the reviews and owners responses.

15/11/2025: I've never had food as horrible as this in my entire life literally. I ordered some chips, a quarter pounder and a battered sausage. The battered sausage and the quarter pounder had to be at least three days old and tasted like leather,It was very overpriced anyway, I wouldn't have minded paying if the food was at least half decent. By God stay away and walk 50 metres down to you're left to the Roma Café. It's just trash given to people.. It felt like I was robbed. Never again am I coming back. Edit. Tried this place again from just eat I got a phone call to say food was being delivered waited over an hour the delivery driver wouldn't answer and the restaurant wouldn't answer either if that's what you wanna call it,I had food previously and it was fine but I will never order again from there it's cheap enough for a reason the food is either cold, absolutely horrendous,or you just don't get it .....I definitely don't recommend this place spend an extra 5 quid for edible food and guaranteed that you'll get it,such a shame,and the delivery driver wouldn't even answer his phone I sent a message telling him to eat the food himself as it was way too late for me. The restaurant doesn't care less about it's customers not about food quality.

23/10/2025: If you looking for a place of diner on a go. With quite a selection and food that hits the spot. This is a great place to choose.
