14/01/2025: Myself and 3 friends had breakfast yesterday 13th January. The breakfast was cold and service poor. Got no satisfaction when complained. Spent over €50.
Restaurant was cold also.
03/01/2025: Experiencia decepcionante, llegó a las 3. 30 pm y no se sirve sopa o comida caliente. Muy pequeña selección de sándwiches dejados y ensalada de frijoles no era fresco. Los inodoros estaban sucios - estándar muy diferente a otros cafés Kilkenny - mejoras necesarias!

02/02/2025: We went with our hen party and left disappointed. One of our party was allergic to mushrooms and made this clear, yet when her steak arrived it had mushroom on it. When she sent it back the new steak was burnt. When this was pointed out the staff member replied "okay" and nothing was done. She felt like she was being an annoyance, yet it was the staff who couldn't get her order correct and were making her feel that way.
Those who ordered steak were asked how they liked it done but all steaks were cooked the same.
One of our friends also waiting a very long time, 40+ mins for her food, we were all eating while she was there with nothing for ages.
We were also overcharged and had to correct the staff and again were made to feel like an annoyance.
As a Kilkenny local I hadn't ever been to Breatnachs and this experience wouldn't entice me back.
02/02/2025: Ordered a steak and asked for it to be cooked medium, it came out burnt . And chips were raw

18/10/2024: So i have been here on a few different occasions.
There spice box is consistant and its ok not amazing but it does the job.
There fried rice very bland pure white not a bit of brown tint to be seen.
Fried noddles do be burnt.
Curry,Oyster and black bean sauces all flavourless no seasoning its like the chef has no pride in there cooking what so ever,so sad to see.

Nostalgia Cafe

15/01/2025: Myself and my friend went into this cafe on Monday 13th January. I ordered a coffee with a pot of hot water on the side. My friend had tea and a cake. The rudest waitress I've ever encountered brought the order to the table. She brought me a Capachino not a coffee. I don't drink milk so I told her politely as she was passing that she brought me the wrong coffee. She shouted at me at the top of her voice "you ordered a Capachino. I said I ordered a coffee. She then shouted even louder that I ordered a Capachino and snapped it off the table. I showed her the receipt which clearly stated my order. She said that she just registered it as a coffee. She brought me a coffee down and slapped it on the table. I said I don't drink milk and was about to explain that I wouldn't be ordering a Capachino as there is milk in it. She walked off and left me in mid sentence. I'm 67 years of age and in my entire life I've never encountered such ignorance. I do hope the owner sees this report. It looked a beautiful little cafe but with staff like that I wouldn't set my foot inside the door rver again There isn't an option for NO STARS otherwise that's what I would be giving bit
12/01/2025: I had the hot chocolate (the absolute best) and the scone, both of which were delicious. The service was quick and the staff were very welcoming and friendly. The cafe itself had plenty of seating available and is a nice little hide out!

14/02/2025: Pedido de esta franquicia. Tienen un rastreador del conductor, rastreamos al conductor por la ciudad durante 35 minutos sin entregar nuestra orden. Llamamos a la pizzería en 3 ocasiones y cada vez que nos dijeron que estaría con nosotros en 5 minutos - mentiras completas como el rastreador dijo 20 minutos - que estaba en el otro lado de la ciudad! Nos informaron que el conductor no estaba entregando ninguna otra pizza, pero la nuestra! Después de 40 minutos cancelamos el pedido, y nos informó el gerente de turno que recibiríamos un reembolso! 7 llamadas telefónicas, 4 correos electrónicos no ha llegado ningún reembolso y ninguna comunicación de dominó. Absolutamente impactante. Estamos llevando esto más allá.
04/01/2025: El pan de ajo estaba bueno, decente. La pizza estaba empapada, demasiada salsa de tomate, no tenía buen sabor. Carnes de baja calidad y bajo sabor. Fui por una pizza carnosa. No vale la pena el dinero

16/02/2025: Food is absolutely delicious from here, the chicken is the nicest I've ever tasted. The staff are very friendly and food is quality everytime. I'd highly recommend it.

22/01/2025: Joke of a place food was stone cold after waiting and hour and twenty minutes. Half the order was missing and the man on the phone refused to send a driver to correct it as it would “cost more money”. The young lad the dropped it off tried to overcharge me at the door too. Shit pizza, old chips and stale tenders, never again.
01/01/2025: I’m very disappointed I asked for a bag of chips and the women who served me FIRSTLY ignored me and then once she finally asked what I wanted I asked for a bag of chips and she tells me that it’s €3.50 with cash and €10 with card which was scandalous this is not acceptable I waited for no reason I should have just put some chips in my air fryer. ALSO no hygiene standards were achieved at all.

28/12/2024: Absolute joke!!! The front of house was beyond rude, made smart comments and wasn’t one bit helpful. To top it off she didn’t even give cutlery when she knew we were getting the train home. We paid €2 for about 5 prawn crackers which you would usually get for free out of any Chinese…. AVOID AT ALL COSTS oh and satay sauce had a layer of oil on the top

16/03/2025: I live in Kilkenny and choose Langtons for breakfast with a few family members for a catch up we arrived and were seated at 10 45 am Saturday 15th March 2025, a lovely waitress came to our table we gave in our order,Tea and Toast arrived very quickly but from their the wait began,at 11:35 2 Raw (fried ?) Eggs were handed to one family member, so by that time the toast and tea was cold,,2 breakfast called the Works was what we could only describe as inedible,followed by scrambled egg which was cold and sat on a slice of bread which made the bread so wet and cold it was awful to say someone would be expected to butter let alone eat a sloppy slice of bread, next was steak and 2 poached eggs by this stage we called over the waitress and showed her the 2 poached Eggs were truly and utterly raw ,we did point out politely the rest of our foods cold potatoes cubes , burnt sausages ,bacon slices were like rubber and full of grease, black an white pudding was rock solid over cooked ,the waitress apologised and informed us that we would not be charged for the steak and raw eggs,the list is endless, over all this was a very disappointing experience from a place that I always highly recommended to family and visiting friends but sadly I won't be recommending Langtons food to family/ visitors again. Might I add the waitresses were lovely...From a very disappointed customer..
15/03/2025: Went into the tea rooms this morning quarter to 11 got tea and toast straight away. Waited to 25 to 12 to have a breakfast served to us on which I got 2 eggs. One wasn't even cooked my friend got a steak breakfast, the the egg was absolutely raw. It was disgusting. How could you serve people with this food? 2 of my friends got a fry . The bacon was like a cardboard. The egg wasn't even cooked. The black pudding was disgraceful. Went to pay the bill. They did not charge us for the steak. Breakfast as the egg was disgusting, but they still charged as we left the tea rooms hungry. We are locally people will never eat there again horrible experience.

07/12/2024: Hi there, we bought two pizzas and tacos fries yesterday 6/12/24 from Kilkenny and the whole family of 4 ended up in St Luke's AE on drippings with food poisoning.
Great offer, the bill is: pizza (which ended in the bin) + €400
