The best restaurants in Kilkenny

09/02/2025: Gave stayed here many times while in Kilkenny for the weekend. Very reasonably priced. Rooms very clean and warm. Right in the city centre with parking.

06/03/2025: I had the special of the day, steak sandwich on ciabatta bread and it was good! Big portion. Well located restaurant, attentive staff. I recommend!

15/03/2025: Enjoyed a good stay here at the Hibernian Hotel. Very friendly staff at the reception and good location for restaurants. Breakfast was great - a good lovely Irish breakfast 😋. One star less for the Jacuzzi in my room which didn't seem to work or did I just not know how to turn it on?? 🤔

12/02/2025: 3 two seater tables free & all window seats and a staff member with dark hair told us it’s take away only and not allowed to sit down at 5:30pm when they are open until 7pm. Others left and didn’t order because of the same attitude at the time, but we ordered food and the trainee couldn’t have been nicer and told us to take a seat.

03/09/2024: Perfect Iris Pub to enjoy a perfect pint of Guinness and Smithwick's among the locals 👍 Watch sports and catch up on what is happening. Also, the pub is great for private events The owner and staff are very welcoming and friendly.

15/03/2025: Terrible, walked in and ordered a snack box and a bag of chips. Walked home (10 minutes) chips were freezing and so called snack box consisted of chips, chicken pieces and onion rings, miles from a snack box. Will never be there again.

19/03/2025: Where has the service gone? What has happened to manners and respect. Absolutely appalled at the experience my daughter and her friends had on a recent visit to Supermac’s. I know the reply to this if any will be it’s company policy not to allow people to sit without food which in any business this is 100% fair and the correct way to deal with loitering people, but this is different, this is not about how you asked two of the girls to leave which they did no problem, it’s how the remaining girls who had bought food where spoken to aggressively and not believed they had purchased food, while trying to eat they have to prove who bought what and felt bullied. This is beyond normal behaviour in the service industry, which Iv worked in for over 20 years, Iv also been a very regular customer in Supermac’s, we actually eat in store most weeks as a family, but my daughters experience as a teenager eating with friends is not the same as it is when dining with us. This is blatant discrimination. I understand their must be a significant problem with some youths and this has led Supermac’s Kilkenny to have this bias against all teenagers but this is not ok and is discrimination, these teenagers are customers and deserve to be treated with respect and dignity. The attitude from management and floor staff needs to change. This is not acceptable behaviour from adults and i really hope this blanket ban on all teens ends: not every teenager is there to cause trouble. Thank you for your time. Celine Brennan

12/01/2025: The staff defends assaulters and scrutinises victims the one who defends assaulters will be shamed. Check your staff.

10/11/2024: Proper town centre pub. Good selection of beers and plenty of seating. Live football and Racing on the TV. Cheap drinks, too. They don’t do food.
