20/09/2024: I don’t know what has changed but sadly the food does not reflect the price charged. No table service you must pay before ordering your food. Waiting about 15 minutes which would be fine if the food reflected the price the below picture was €11.50. No red onion as per the menu, over all I was very disappointed with the amount of feta and how it was presented and also the seeds being left in the red pepper.

20/10/2024: Popped in for food while in town, dinner was great, I got the cannelloni and it was delicious. Portion size was large, and each bite was a different experience between the cannelloni and the sauce.
Highlight was definitely the desert with was an eton mess big enough for the three of us to share after a good meal.

17/07/2024: Just been to Breathnach's, really lovely food, got a very nice greeting off a lovely young lady called Greta, she was very helpful and accommodating with our food, the pub was really airy and bright with very comfortable seats, this definitely won't be our last time visiting, next time we're in Kilkenny it will be a must! 10/10 for friendliness, cleanliness, comfort & excellent food! 😊👌💯
02/06/2024: Went in before and after the U'20 all Ireland final on 01-Jun-24. Great room to cope with the large crowd, food was excellent and the pint of Guinness was delightful. Staff deserve a special mention for the quick service and warm welcome for all supporters. Thanks, we'll be back.

The food was so fresh, service was a delight. With a very friendly atmosphere

14/05/2024: This is the coolest place around... 😎 lovely cafe with a view! Because it's 2 floors up and overlooking one of the main streets in Kilkenny...and even has a good view of the castle... food is lovely too....ye have to see this place if you're in Kilkenny

27/10/2024: Myself and my husband were looking for somewhere to have tea and a small snack, this was perfect.
We had scones and tea, service was very fast and friendly. The cafe is very nicely decorated. Perfect place for a sit down and a bite.
30/08/2024: I like eating in the café Katz! Usually, when I'm in there, I hear a lot of kind words 😉 And my mostly favourite dish is a Caesar salad 🥗😋

Hospitality as it should be from check in to checkout. Have to say a special mention to Brendan at reception as he made everyone feel welcome and was so informative and in all ways just a nice fella.
14/08/2024: Well located in this great city. Make sure you avoid room 231 as well as the rooms next to it and below it!! The exhaust air from the kitchen on the ground floor is very loud, until late at night and early in the morning! If the hotel is well booked, the room cannot be exchanged.

Also, the pub is great for private events
The owner and staff are very welcoming and friendly.

19/08/2024: I can't comment on the food because we only had a few pints. Very rich, yes. The interior is surprising for being built on the remains of a Gothic church.

1. Toilets -disgusting and smelly
2. Staff - unfriendly and very unwelcoming
3. Food - we did not enjoy our meals.
25/07/2024: Visit this place at least once a month, worth the 40mins drive, lunches are very consistent, tasty, never have a bad meal in last 10 years in it, fast efficient service as well, one of the best places in Kilkenny for dinner and reasonably priced.
