The best restaurants in Kilkenny

19/05/2026: It's all about food here , and the pints are expensive. We had one drink and headed off.

12/05/2026: I've been here a couple of times. Was always happy. The last visit was a disappointment. Ordered the full rack with applejack sauce, we've got it with chipotle. Sweet potato fries were black so either the oil in fryier was old or the fries were reheated many times. When I paid my bill I shared my disappointment to the stuff (or actually the kids that served me) but all I got was : oh, sorry. Not sure I will go back there.

The place itself was clean, cozy, and had a very nice atmosphere. Overall, a great experience and we would definitely come back.

05/05/2026: How often do you find hair in your food, especially at a higher-end hotel bar? Here, twice in one meal. Partial refund based on “you ate it.” That’s not how food safety works. Polite staff, but poor judgment on handling. Not what you expect at this level.

19/09/2025: Extremely nice bartenders! Good atmosphere, you will feel comfortable at once.

06/09/2025: O'Hara's tap room. Went there and had really good beer. Spoke with two of the bartenders (possibly owners?) asked for a sticker (which no breweries or distillers carry in Ireland) and received a free t shirt instead. Great place good people!

14/10/2025: Rather over-priced café. Nice mezzanine space over looking main street. Friendly staff. Cramped toilet space. Upstairs venue so not wheelchair or child buggy friendly.

10/05/2026: We arrived for dinner at 9 pm (with an online reservation). The reservation didn't go through and the kitchen was closed. Nevertheless, the waitress and the manager went out of their way to find us a table. They were very understanding and we had a very good meal. The salads were delicious. 24/07/2025: Absolutely blown away by the cake Quigley’s made for my wife’s birthday! It looked stunning, tasted incredible, and was a real showstopper at the party. Everyone was asking where we got it from and my wife couldn’t have been happier! What made it even better was how quick and easy their online ordering service was. Simple to navigate, great communication, and everything was ready exactly as promised. Massive thanks to the whole team at Quigley’s for making the day extra special. We’ll definitely be ordering again for the next occasion! 🎂👏

27/03/2026: The hotel is centrally located which was very helpful. The rooms were very nice and the breakfast was great. The ladies we came in contact with at the front desk were the least friendly of all of our hotel stays, which was disappointing.
