20/10/2025: We are locals. I wanted to bring our visitors from Madrid here for lunch on a rainy Saturday. They are foodies and I had explained that Savoir Fare is probably the best lunch spot in town and was recently recommended in The Irish Times. We arrived just before 12 noon and I was pleased to see empty tables because they don’t take reservations. I was told very bluntly “I cannot serve you”, because we were a group of 6. I asked if we could divide into 2 tables of 3 which were set for lunch and unoccupied. I was told “I will not split the group. I cannot serve you”. The way he said it was rude. The other diners were all watching. So we left. I stood outside on the pavement in the drizzle, super embarrassed in front of our visitors. Bruised, we walked up to The Clockhouse Cafe and after a short wait, we were seated. Not the same offering at all, but we were welcomed, and served with a smile.

09/12/2025: I love coming here for a Chai Latte during my coffee breaks. I also recommend it for breakfast.

05/08/2025: Fantastic pizza would highly recommend, you can bring it into the quays pub too and sit out on the terrace overlooking the sea. Can be a bit of a wait for food 20m-1hr when we went so plan accordingly

10/11/2025: A horrible end to what had been a nice weekend. We visited here on a Sunday lunchtime after a weekend in the caravan park. We had drinks the night before, but decided to grab a quick pizza before heading home. They were preparing for a private event, so we asked if we could be accommodated, sitting outside and were told absolutely. We waited 15 mins before I went on the hunt for menus, and after another 15 minutes with no service, I went inside, where a sulky waitress, whom I was clearly inconveniencing, proceeded to reluctantly take my order. When ordered, I discovered the kids' meal didn't have the dessert, so she said she would " sort it out once we had eaten". My daughter's hot dog arrived along with our side of fries that we had ordered with our pizza. No cutlery or our drinks. There was a tsp of garlic mayo with the fries, which my daughter liked, so considering the portion was so tiny, I asked for a little more. This did arrive promptly, along with the card machine, for a €1.50 charge. Asked again for cutlery. The pizza eventually arrived, long after the fries were gone, and I asked again for my husband's drinks. When the pizza was gone, I went back in and asked for a refund for the non-arrival drinks, but after no sign of either a waitress or a refund, we left. We paid €37, including one Coke, which was not received. Additionally, we paid € 1.50 for an extra teaspoon of garlic mayo. The caravan park was fine, nothing special, but I couldn't fault it apart from having to wait 20 minutes for someone to come back to check in. I spent the whole meal in and out chasing menus, ordering drinks, and cutlery. etc - whole thing took over an hour despite no one else eating at the time - If they had just said that they were completely preoccupied with the later event, we could have gone somewhere that actually wanted us there. What the website doesn't make clear is that once you roll past Sept 1st, it's off-season and lots of things are closed , fewer choices of eating, etc.

03/04/2026: Within about a 30 km radius, this is hands down my favourite and honestly the tastiest South Asian-style restaurant. A few dishes I keep coming back for: prawns in sweet chili sauce is my absolute favourite. The Tom Kha and Tom Yum soups are incredible — rich, aromatic, and perfectly balanced. And the crispy duck is just amazing, one of the best I’ve ever had. Honestly, these dishes are prepared here in a way that I haven’t found anywhere else — at least not to my taste — which is why I keep coming back. What really surprises me is that the place is almost always quite empty. It’s still a bit of a mystery to me because the food is consistently delicious. The service is good: staff come over, check if everything is okay, ask if you like the food — attentive but not intrusive. The only downside is that the toilets are on the third floor, which is a bit inconvenient, but that’s more of a building issue. Overall, the place is cosy, spacious, and very nice to be in. And to be honest, I’m even a bit surprised and sad to see some negative reviews, because I’ve been coming here for about a year — travelling from Castlebar — and I’ve always been more than satisfied.

01/03/2026: Great cafe with nice food at reasonable prices. Staff are always friendly and helpful. Plenty of seating too, although it does get very busy around lunch time. Sandwiches and carvery are tasty, good quality, with generous portions. Lovely coffee and desserts too. It's the only cafe in Westport that I like. I find the others too pokey with not enough food options. A couple of things they could improve: replace the booth seating with wooden seating (maybe with a built in cushion) because people keep breaking the springs in the existing seating. Also I think it would be advisable to cover the desserts a bit better because customers stand too close to them when queuing. Otherwise all good.

01/03/2026: Would avoid at all costs food poisoning which lasted days, was serviced gone off salad and chicken which ended up me being very very ill , place is very unhygienic certainly would advise people to stay away

29/11/2025: Chef forgot to cook one of our main courses. Chips were cooked in oil possibly a week old. Waitress was more interested in being on her phone than looking after diners. An awful restaurant and terrible service. SHOCKING WITH A CAPITAL S. JUST AWFUL. AVOID . AVOID. AVOID.

06/10/2025: Visited with my family for my birthday. First Chinese since moving to Ireland last year. Food was great although rice side dishes were a little small. Staff were fantastic but the time between starts and main was quite long which was good for my 2 grandchildren.

13/11/2025: Grand place for a coffee made from self roasted beans. We enjoyed our coffee break very much there.
