The best restaurants in Westport

19/07/2026: The food was very disappointing. The "homemade" burger was completely tasteless, the doner was definitely not made with lamb but rather frozen meat, and don't even get me started on the milkshake—it was incredibly basic. The only positive point was the service: pleasant.

21/06/2026: Waste of money. Kebab meat was like rubber & weird after taste, I don’t think it was fresh. Homemade chips were so dry & tasteless.. it all went in the bin

18/07/2026: A brilliant find! I popped in by chance and loved it. The sandwich was really tasty (the bread seemed to be French – a real treat), the queue wasn’t long and there was a great atmosphere. You can eat inside or just opposite, by the river.

12/07/2026: Avoid at all costs , as I've seen in other reviews, a bouncer who has a severe chip on his shoulder refuses people just for the sake of it , no reason , just because, (I don't need to describe him as there's only one who trys to cause problems ) This place is toxic and management haven't the scruples to deal with it, there are far more welcoming places around lively Westport.

12/04/2026: Stopped in for a lovely pint of Guinness and to watch the golf, ended up chatting with the owner, I felt right at home.... Lovely place, great staff, and a nice crowd

19/07/2026: Smashing place to visit with kids. High quality pizzas, quick friendly service and a lovely atmosphere - especially in the sun on weekends with live music in the courtyard. Kids love it as loads of outdoor space to run around and a playground to keep them entertained and plenty of seating nearby to keep them in eyesight whilst enjoying the food and campsite atmosphere. Staff, especially the locals, are beyond friendly.

03/06/2026: I went here last year and it was one of the nicest Chinese food I’ve had, so decided to go back today. Now there must be new owners or chefs because the food is absolutely rank and inedible. I got a snack box and the chicken, chips and ribs tasted like they were taken from the bin and heated up, even the curry sauce didn’t taste like curry sauce, I actually feel sick after eating some of it. The place itself is gammy looking warm and mouldy. The health inspector needs to pay a visit to this place. Don’t even waste your money in this disgusting place, you’ll probably end up with food poisoning.

08/06/2026: Extremely poor and hugely disappointing - fish was basically just batter with the tiniest bit of unfleshy fish and the chips were cold, hard and very unpleasant. The staff did however refund the price when I took the food back. Go elsewhere or check your meal before leaving the shop.

17/05/2026: Nice small sit in or take away ordered a snack box ( 2 picies of chicken and chips) found the chips to be lovely but the chicken had no flavour. My friend ordered a burger looked tasty friend said it was nice

03/04/2026: Within about a 30 km radius, this is hands down my favourite and honestly the tastiest South Asian-style restaurant. A few dishes I keep coming back for: prawns in sweet chili sauce is my absolute favourite. The Tom Kha and Tom Yum soups are incredible — rich, aromatic, and perfectly balanced. And the crispy duck is just amazing, one of the best I’ve ever had. Honestly, these dishes are prepared here in a way that I haven’t found anywhere else — at least not to my taste — which is why I keep coming back. What really surprises me is that the place is almost always quite empty. It’s still a bit of a mystery to me because the food is consistently delicious. The service is good: staff come over, check if everything is okay, ask if you like the food — attentive but not intrusive. The only downside is that the toilets are on the third floor, which is a bit inconvenient, but that’s more of a building issue. Overall, the place is cosy, spacious, and very nice to be in. And to be honest, I’m even a bit surprised and sad to see some negative reviews, because I’ve been coming here for about a year — travelling from Castlebar — and I’ve always been more than satisfied.

04/05/2026: I recently bought a lovely window display vase. Unfortunately my purchase was switched at packaging for what now appears to be a flawed vase (factory 2nd ?). When I phoned to explain the belligerent owner rudely hung up on me !. Nice shop not so nice owners !. CAVEAT EMPTOR !!.

17/06/2026: Ate here tonight. Food was very tasty. Chicken and sweetcorn soup was so tasty. My husband had prawns and really enjoyed them. Beef in black bean was very good. A place worth visiting if in Westport.. Staff very welcoming and friendly. Prices are a bit higher than Kildare. When on holidays have a Chinese you won't regret it.

29/05/2026: Excellent food and interesting presentation. Next time I'm back in Westport I'll visit the restaurant!
