The best restaurants in Westport

15/11/2025: Had a veg red curry with chips... Realised after that 'potato' is also considered allowable in veg and that also 70% was carrot... I GET VEG CURRY TO EAT VEGETABLES 🥴

11/11/2025: A beautiful, clean, tidy bar/restaurant. Glad to see the local Mescan beer on tap and in bottle. I really don't know why anybody drinks the industrial beers after tasting this. Unfortunately the only Stonewell cider is the non alcoholic. The Food is amazing. Really generous portions, comes out freshly cooked and very tasty. The staff are super friendly and professional. I'd eat here any evening if I could. Everything is excellent 👌

16/11/2025: Loved our stay no faults at all from rooms to dinner to staff.

16/11/2025: The staff were friendly. The room was very spacious, spotless and beautiful. Good mattress. Most importantly, it was QUIET! First time in a hotel that I heard no noise either from outside or other guests. Slept amazing. Room was heated properly. Hopefully I'll be staying there again and will have the same experience. By the way, the food in the restaurant is very good as well.

22/10/2025: We had a Hawaii pizza! It was pricey but at least it was delicious. The place was recommended by a local police officer named Tony!

10/10/2025: I was really disappointed with my visit. Just because I ordered something small. It felt like the stuff didn’t pay much attention to me . I waited quite awhile before anyone came back to my table and then I finally wanted to order something else I was told the kitchen had already closed. It left me feeling ignored and unwelcome. Definitely not the kind of service I expected.

05/10/2025: Where locals go for a meal, it can never be bad. All age groups are represented here: students or business people on their lunch break, seniors enjoying a late breakfast. The service is fast and friendly. The food selection is perfect for brunch or lunch. I had a toasted sandwich with a soup of the day, both very tasty.

28/06/2025: Proper local bar, the sort of place that died out in the UK in the 1980s. The din from endless conversations was like an old friend, the Guinness was superb, the service and the locals were friendly and welcoming. Go there, go there now 🇮🇪

22/08/2025: This was the best place I have ever been too. The craic was fantastic, music 🎶 unreal and wow what an atmosphere. Thanks to Emma and the staff who looked after 9 of us so well and we were a mad bunch of ladies. We will definitely return. It's a great place to find and very hard to leave. Actually we didn't want to leave !!!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰

20/05/2025: I have never been to a better bar. Absolutely fantastic staff. So welcoming and warm. Drinks are fantastic. The most Irish bar in Mayo, absolutely brilliant. Genuine owners and staff, if you travel to Westport, you cant miss this pub! Amazing.

27/09/2025: We had a wonderful family meal in Coveys. Special mention to Hussane, who was exceptional and looked after us well. Would highly recommend.

03/09/2025: Atmosphere and service of restaurant was very nice. The server was courteous and friendly. Reason for my 3 star rating is my ribeye steak was inedible, very tough, fatty, chewy. A far cry from the “marbling that melts into the meat resulting in a juicy steak” as advertised. I was expecting a fine cut of steak. Tried real hard to eat it, but after half the steak was so tough and chewy and having to take the meat out of my mouth, I gave up. The side dishes were all quite good and I enjoyed them very much. The peppercorn sauce was also very good…I dipped my chips in it since the steak wasn’t working out. My wife ordered the fillet and it was very good. She gave me a few bites and I wish I had ordered the fillet, not the ribeye. Perhaps it was just a bad cut that night, I don’t know as this was our first visit to Westport and Coveys. They did offer to cook me a new piece of meat, but at this point my wife was nearly done, so I declined.

15/11/2025: I’m sorry to say that the Balti wasn’t very good and they forgot my rice on the order. The sauce was very watery, and another family member who ordered the Tandoori received what appeared to be the same chicken prepared the same way, just served with a different sauce, and again waterly ( They were not impressed). It was a real shame, as our expectations were high. Unfortunately, it felt more like a supermarket ready meal than a freshly prepared dish. On a positive note, great nana enjoyed her meal, my sister loved her five spiced chcken with sweet and sour sauce, and the staff were genuinely lovely.

22/08/2025: Arrived at our reservation time and brought upstairs, room was very warm , no air conditioning or fans . Staff were very pleasant food was average but had to wait for an hour for our meal

16/10/2025: Gorgeous Bookstore, calming chill music lots of great variety of new and second hand books without being overwhelming. Even have a coffee station. Lots of local themed books to the area which is great.

18/09/2025: Very friendly and knowledgeable owner in a gorgeous shop perfect for a browse and a coffee. The shop is in a beautiful setting in Westport Quay, County Mayo. Well worth a visit

20/10/2025: We are locals. I wanted to bring our visitors from Madrid here for lunch on a rainy Saturday. They are foodies and I had explained that Savoir Fare is probably the best lunch spot in town and was recently recommended in The Irish Times. We arrived just before 12 noon and I was pleased to see empty tables because they don’t take reservations. I was told very bluntly “I cannot serve you”, because we were a group of 6. I asked if we could divide into 2 tables of 3 which were set for lunch and unoccupied. I was told “I will not split the group. I cannot serve you”. The way he said it was rude. The other diners were all watching. So we left. I stood outside on the pavement in the drizzle, super embarrassed in front of our visitors. Bruised, we walked up to The Clockhouse Cafe and after a short wait, we were seated. Not the same offering at all, but we were welcomed, and served with a smile.

20/07/2025: Delicious, beautifully prepared, locally sourced food with French flair. Savoir Fare is exceptional and not to be missed, a real treat. Alain and his team are lovely hosts with a really deep knowledge of food that shines through in the scrumptious food served up.

28/10/2025: We stumbled upon this yummy place while looking for a place to have coffee. Had wonderful food. And the staffs are lovely. Sat at the VIP seats 😂

27/10/2025: Really nice vegan options- I tried the Coconut ice cream and Mango sorbet and both were lovely. The staff were super friendly and helpful.
