The best restaurants in Westport

11/09/2025: Yes, we can recommend the restaurant. Even though it was a busy Wednesday evening, the food was served quickly and was very tasty. The seafood dishes were particularly excellent. The service was friendly, attentive, and quick.

20/09/2025: Would highly recommend this place, it's a great wee hotel in such a fabulous location right in the middle of Westport. And the staff are so friendly & helpful. The room we stayed in was a family room, it had air conditioning in which was needed as our stay was in the summer months. The room was very modern, with a nice ensuite with walk-in shower which had a nice ceiling window above it to let natural light in. It was very clean & tidy, which is always nice to see in any hotel. There was a great layout of plugs either side of the bed, which isn't usually the case in many other hotels. Even though it's a officially a ⭐⭐⭐ it is as good as any ⭐⭐⭐⭐ we've stayed in. I think the only reason it may not officially have it's 4th star is because of not having it's own pool on site. But there is an off-site pool you can use during your stay, which is only a 2 minute walk from the hotel, and you can ask at reception for towels for the pool which is great. The location of the hotel couldn't be better, the entrance to Westport house is just around the side of the hotel, there are many bars, restaurants & shops right on your doorstep. There is also a lovely little market in the octagon outside the front of the hotel, (I think the stalls change daily). The breakfast was also really good, it's made to order so it's nice & fresh when you get it. There's a great selection of continental options too, so everyone should have options whichever you prefer for breakfast. I was in Westport when I was younger & remember it's charm even as a child. I had been telling my wife how nice it was & for us to go there, when we finally did she fell in love with the place, as did my stepson. We will definitely be back to this lovely town next year, and the Wyatt is where we'll be staying every time we come here.

08/09/2025: Westport-we stopped in for soup and dessert, soup was phenomenal as was dessert. Our waitress was fine, the “hostess /manager”was a bit much (we overheard how she spoke to the staff and later was short with us too). The musicians were great (guessing they were siblings) we really enjoyed them. This is a neat place. While we didn’t have a full meal I watched several huge delicious looking meals come from the kitchen. We stopped back two nights later to listen to the music and have a pint, these guys have some great talent playing there.

07/09/2025: J.J. O'Malley's in Westport is a fantastic spot! On the ground floor, there's a lively bar where they have live music almost every day, creating a great atmosphere. Upstairs, the restaurant serves absolutely stunning food. The starters were wonderful, and I was honestly amazed by the curry — and that's coming from someone who usually doesn’t like curry! It was so flavorful that I even enjoyed the dish my daughter ordered. The crab pasta was good too, though I felt it could use a bit more seasoning. Big compliments to the chef — you can really tell they know what they're doing in the kitchen. The only downside was that we were initially charged for an extra starter we didn’t order. Thankfully, after bringing it to the staff’s attention, the bill was corrected promptly. I highly recommend making a reservation, especially during the tourist season, as the place gets quite busy!

28/06/2025: Proper local bar, the sort of place that died out in the UK in the 1980s. The din from endless conversations was like an old friend, the Guinness was superb, the service and the locals were friendly and welcoming. Go there, go there now 🇮🇪

22/08/2025: Arrived at our reservation time and brought upstairs, room was very warm , no air conditioning or fans . Staff were very pleasant food was average but had to wait for an hour for our meal

17/08/2025: We (couple) were looking for somewhere nice after doing a long cycle on the greenway. Of all the choices on the Main Street we stopped off in Olde Bridge. It was beautiful. Cosy setting, great service and really tasty food. We had a lovely evening.

18/09/2025: Very friendly and knowledgeable owner in a gorgeous shop perfect for a browse and a coffee. The shop is in a beautiful setting in Westport Quay, County Mayo. Well worth a visit
