The best restaurants in Westport

26/06/2026: Came here through a tour group, we had dinner here but many who had the sea food chowder got severe food poisoning, probably a bad batch. When we brought it up to the hotel manager they said they wouldn't admit to food poisoning until we got tested for norovirus at a hospital. I don't trust this hotel with so little integrity. It's unfortunate because the town is wonderful, sadly many of us couldn't experience it.

24/05/2026: Upgraded to premium suite which was worth it. Only issue was the wifi. Possibly the worst I have ever encountered. Even the TV was having issues...

17/07/2026: Surprisingly disappointed with Sage, particularly given the glowing reviews. The mixed seafood appetiser was good. However my main dish was the 'slow-cooked pork belly' item. It was grotesquely over-salted, tasting of nothing but salt. Mentioning this elicited a shrug of the shoulders. For the dessert, I asked if a different flavour of ice-cream (listed with another menu item) might be substituted for that expected with my choice, a home-made baklava dish - 'no' came back the answer. I would not visit this unsympathetic and rather complacent restaurant again.

02/06/2026: We ended up here by chance. The tea room was full, but we received a super friendly welcome and got a table after only a short wait. (Grab the table! 😃) The sandwich was delicious, and they served it directly onto two plates since we wanted to share it. Super friendly and cozy.

30/06/2026: Stopped intoLoftys for one on the way back to the hotel and ended up staying for more. The Guinness is really good Lofty the main man was serving, and what an absolute Gent he was. We had a chat and a laugh. It wasn't that busy as it was a tuesday evening but I really enjoyed the few hours spent there.

21/06/2026: Great atmosphere with live music. The staff are friendly and good, fun vibe.

02/08/2026: Great pub and as Mayo had won Sam the previous Sunday the talk was about football. As a Kerryman it was great to hear all the locals talking about the match. Pints were good and service was excellent. Nice and relaxed and got seats so was fine and relaxing.

05/06/2026: I didn't enjoy this one as much as the other pubs over on the main road, however that may have been due to the back area closed off for a private function.

12/06/2026: The best bookshop in Ireland. The staff are so friendly, & there’s a gorgeous view. You can also call or email to order any book (even if it’s not listed on their website). My order arrived 2 days later!

06/06/2026: Beautiful shop, lovely enthusiastic people there who are genuinely interested in you and your love of books. We didn't have a coffee but I think there was coffee making facilities if you wanted to have a longer browse. ❤️

06/06/2026: The food was so processes. I ordered a turkey and ham dinner. Both meats were so finely sliced that they were more suitable for putting in a sandwich rather than serve up for dinner. The stuffing was shaped like a hockey puck, was odd grey/green colour and had the texture of Playdough. They clearly don't cook all the food on site but buy it in precooked. My partner had a steak which, unfortunately, was extremely tough. The seating was saggy and uncomfortable. I wouldn't eat there again.

03/06/2026: Cobbler's bar is a great place to eat, have a drink and listen to music, including informal bands that come to play during the week.

05/05/2026: Food took like 45 minutes to come out even though it wasn’t busy. My issue is that this the most westernized, white washed Indian food I’ve seen. I don’t know what the issue is with Ireland and doing this but anything that’s labeled Mexican or Indian is not traditional. I was really irritated. Like what does the jalfrezi have milk in it ? these curries are not traditional at all but maybe if ur Irish you believe it is. I don’t know if this is brit Indian or what but good lord I’m not Indian and I cook it way better than they do here. Ridiculous

17/04/2026: The most delicious food here! The yummiest naan bread I’ve ever had and the paneer masala was a particular favourite. Friendly staff and overall lovely experience

27/05/2026: It's got everything you need for a great time at a cracking pub: a great atmosphere, amazing memorabilia, fantastic and friendly staff, and great Guinness. And my 2nd cousin owns it. Just as well I live in Singapore as it would be my 2nd home if I was local.

08/08/2026: I wish I had taken the time to take a picture of my food so I could show how good it looked. But with one taste I kept gobbling .. this place was amazing. One of the nicest Italian restaurants I've been to. The sauce was so authentic. You could really taste such rich flavours.. highly recommend this restaurant. Also the servers were lovely. Very attentive and warm. If you eat here, you won't regret it. It was a fabulous night. Thank you to the staff of Giovannas for a fantastic meal
