27/01/2025: Staff attentive and helpful informed us of any changes and asked straight away if any of our group had any allergies.we were a group of 11food orders quick I had the pork which was very nice cooked well I was disappointed with the amount of veg but asked for more veg which was brought from the kitchen I did have to pay extra for the privilege,the time between each course was just right.I had a dessert which was delicious.

13/03/2025: I was part of a party of 25. I had chicken wings which were beautiful. Had the caeser salad for mains. It was very bland. The dressing was tasteless. My friend had the veggie burger and said it wasn't great.

08/03/2025: I went here with friends for dinner. Very good food. Very expensive. I would have given 5 star for my main course, but starters could have been better and other main dishes were okayish. Deserts were very good. Waiter was very knowledgeable and made custom cocktail for me. Only downside was fire alarm was going on and off for really long time and was a bit irritating to sit for some time until they fixed it. The restaurant has nice ambiance with 2 floors and a pretty bar.

09/03/2025: We have visited many times in the past but today the staff was absolutely rude! We sat for a coffee and a small bite and we're planning on having lunch there as well. We arrived a bit before 12 so we had the audacity of not ordering lunch instantly and we advised of the same. The lady working there was so rude. She took our order not a single smile, she acted like we were bothering her. At the end of our coffee while we were discussing what to get for our meal she just dropped the bill on the table and said: I need the table back. I have asked to keep the menu as we would get lunch so we were basically kicked out before we got to get a meal. I understand it's a sunny Sunday and they were busy and our bill was less than 20 euro at that moment but we were planning on ordering oysters, 2 mains, kids meal, wine and desert. It was a big day for us and fancied a bit of splashing cash to enjoy. It's ok a different restaurant got to get our money instead. We visit a lot and we spend a lot both on the deli and the restaurant and frankly I will miss enjoying their food but I cannot accept being treated like dirt because we started our meal with and not the expensive stuff. Do not recommend and will never visit again!

The food is delicious, and it comes to your table quickly, which is a huge plus when you're starving! I only managed to snap a pic of the dessert because I couldn't wait to dig in. Overall, it's a great spot with super friendly staff. Highly recommend! 🍽️🍰

26/02/2025: Como alguien que disfruta a fondo el brunch, este fue uno de mis desayunos favoritos! Fuimos un miércoles por la mañana y había asientos para caminar - ins (no toman reservas). Teníamos huevos revueltos con verduras enmantequilladas y tostadas de masa madre. También pedimos dos lados, papas fritas de halloumi y salmón ahumado - el salmón fue el mejor que he probado! Cada aspecto de este desayuno era perfecto y cada bocado estaba lleno de sabor. No puedo recomendar lo suficiente. Gracias por una gran experiencia!

03/01/2025: We enjoyed a very special brunch today - after all the busyness of Christmas. Our waiter was most attentive - and the baked egg dish and shakshouk were scrumptious alongside the delicious coffee. The atmosphere was very relaxing and we were most impressed with the gift shop afterwards with its special Irish craft offerings. It is a little oasis in the heart of the city and we will certainly be back.

11/03/2025: Over past couple of years, I pleasure cycle from home to Howth regularly (28km) and I reward my cycling effort with a nice, hot, tasty bowl of seafood chowder in "The Oar House. I'm not sure how often the last Google Reviewer (Mercedes) has eaten there (maybe once?), but I'm a regular customer. I started back cycling a month ago and I visited Howth for the third time today. Imagine my surprise when I entered "The Oar House" and I was warmly greeted with the girl at the till "Well, is it a bowl seafood chowder and a pot of tea for you today"! What a lovely unexpected surprise and greeting I received with lovely tasty food. I'll be back soon..!
