14/07/2025: Amazing carvery great staff and decent prices

26/06/2025: I brought 2 friends for something to eat at around 3.30pm. There was a funeral party being catered for and a very pleasant waitress found us a table. One friend had the soup of the day and the other ordered theTagliatelle. I ordered the Fish and chips. My fish and chips were barely edible. The chips were heavily crusted and tasteless even with ketchup. There were three pieces of fish 1 large and 2 smaller pieces. The batter was Trump like in colour. The fish was dry with a suspicious yellow hue on the outside. It had an unpleasant taste. To top it all off the pea puree also had a slight toasty crust. I could not eat the meal. When the waitress came back she asked me was everything OK I told her my meal was inedible. She apologised and said she would tell the chef. She came back and apologising offered me something else. I politely declined and noticed neither of my guest had finished their meals. We were asked if we would like to order tea/coffee but we didn't. I went up to pay expecting that there would be at least a reduction on the bill. None was offered and there was no further comment re. the complaint. I didn't particularly want to cause a fuss and possibly embarrass my friends. I believe a person who may have been the manager/owner had observed the situation and he did not make any comment. The bill came to €41.90 and I did not leave a tip. My friend's Tagliatelle was not very pleasant but she didn't want to complain as she was being treated. Verdict: The serving staff were delightful and seemingly well trained young women. The chef and presumed managerial person - not so much.

06/07/2025: We had a party of 5 people and we were very happy with all aspects of this gem of a restaurant, the people were lovely and the food was excellent, we will definitely go back

12/08/2025: Great place to eat in nice atmosphere,well it used to be ,but they have stopped putting the steak burger in onion sause on the menu at lunch time and pork, since covid, I don't know why,, because it was so tasty with the veg, mash and garlic potatoes,,so we have stopped going there and we miss that,,,it was our favourite place to eat,,, if they ever bring it back, we would go there in a heartbeat 💓 staff are lovely and James is a gentleman.

10/08/2025: I've performed music at nearly every venue in Ireland at this stage, first time here last night. Beautiful hotel, good big function room with a nice view out the back onto the old bridge over the river. The bar is a cosy traditional Irish bar, I wish I could of sat there all day, the restaurant is spacious and attached to the bar with a diverse menu, the duck dish I got was delicious, and most importantly the staff were all friendly and a credit to the establishment.

18/07/2025: We stayed for 1 night and it was amazing.Staffs were very friendly.The Location was very quiet and beautiful.

18/07/2025: Just don’t bother unless you get it for cheap. It’s far away from everything, there’s crows in the trees that sing all day, rooms lack AC so you can’t get rid of the moisture. There’s mold under the bath tub.

11/07/2025: We loved all the bar b que food we bought there, the chicken skewers, burgers, sausages and also the Italian chicken with pistachio, so delicious 😋😋

29/07/2025: I highly recommend sweet baking mama! I ordered cupcakes quite last minute for a gender reveal and they were absolutely perfect! The whole family loved them. They looked great and tasted amazing. Thank you so much! 😊

19/08/2025: Mi joven amigo y yo fuimos a Supermac esta noche. Como siempre la comida era deliciosa! Nos atendió una pequeña mujer joven de pelo oscuro y ella no podía hacer lo suficiente por nosotros. Fui una segunda vez por helados y para pedir una comida para llevar para mi marido y ella insistió en traer todo a nosotros, comprobando si me gustaría una recarga en el té que había comprado antes. El personal agradable hace toda la diferencia, disfruto de la comida supermac, el personal encantador es una gran ventaja. Además sirven el mejor té en Carlow - té de desayuno bewleys. Supermac, siempre disfruto de mi visita y este Supermacs en particular es mi favorito 😍.

29/07/2025: A decent size and well-equipped room, with a small table and chairs and a kitchenette, coffee maker, and other appliances. The furnishings are basic and a bit dated, but the room was clean. Conveniently located on the road between the small town and the main road to Kilkenny, a quiet, if somewhat isolated, area. The host was very welcoming and kind, and directed us to a good restaurant for dinner. It's a shame we didn't try the adjacent pub.
