11/09/2026: Visited for lunch today had the best Beef stew I've ever had . !

06/09/2026: Was here a few times, loved the food, large portions, had both the breakfast and the carvery. Beer and wine on sale.

11/07/2026: We stopped for ice cream. The welcome was cold. You serve yourself from a tub where you open the boxes yourself. We hesitated to sit down because of the state of the chair covers. As for the toilets, that's an experience in itself.

17/09/2026: Got a takeaway on Just Eat. Came within 20mins. First time getting food from here. Food was unreal. Not swimming in oil or grease and nicely full after it. 100% getting it again.

15/09/2026: Business was good, with a constant stream of customers. I ordered a salad and ice cream, which were delicious. The bill came to 10 euros.

17/06/2026: We absolutely loved our stay at Matty's Pub Apartments! The room was clean, very well equipped, and had everything we needed. ​What truly made our stay unforgettable, though, was the incredible hospitality. Matt and his wife were so welcoming—we ended up sharing brilliant conversations, a pint of Guinness, plenty of stories, and a lot of laughs together. If we are ever back in the area, we will definitely return! Thank you both so much for having us; I will always cherish these memories. 🥹 ​If you are looking for a peaceful location not far from Kilkenny and Carlow, paired with a fantastic host and a genuinely friendly atmosphere, I recommend Matty's Pub 100%. 🍻🫶

04/10/2026: Carpe Diem looks lovely and quirky and cosy. Because of this I often drop in. Sadly I am not going to be doing that in future because the staff are so cold and unfriendly. I've tried tipping, I've tried chatting. But no luck. Maybe it's me! Bye guys .

26/09/2026: Lovely bar, perfect place to go in Carlow for a night out, it's my friends and Is bar of choice every time! Expansive cocktail menu and many shooters as well.
