Flys on it all.staff did was ad 2 bits hot chicken I didn't pay walked out called owner never got back to me he buys the smallest of stock an makes it go as far as possible for much as he can

25/03/2025: I called in to the Thatch with some friends from England and we received the most friendly reception you could imagine. The regulars were really welcoming and the landlady is a wonderful person, so warm and generous. If we'd have had the time we would have stayed all day! Thank you again, from all of us.

19/07/2025: A highly recommended restaurant. We ate outside on the terrace. The terrace doesn't offer a wide view of the outside, but it's beautifully landscaped. You feel comfortable here, and the food is okay. Great ambiance, stylish, and cozy. We enjoyed the "traditional Irish food" that was recommended to us, but it wasn't particularly special. We'd had better fish and chips elsewhere. The wait was short, although there weren't many customers at that time. We had made a reservation. Attentive and friendly service. Nice waitresses and good food. All in all, recommended, with plenty of room for improvement. We would come again.

22/08/2025: Food good. Sat on the balcony overlooking the bay - lovely spot. Customer service was ok - room for improvement; one of the staff said we couldn't sit where we wanted as it needed cleaning and they are too busy - there were two younger staff stood next to her, one of whom jumped at it and sorted the table out.
15/08/2025: The Pistacini was fab. But their signature one was unfortunately wet. All the toppings were landsliding off the dough when picking up the pieces, likely because of too many watery ingredients. I guess we expected more for £18.

08/03/2025: The 3 of us visited Billy’s today on a trip home from Laois , from the minute we stepped in we recieved a warm welcome from the waitress who was extremely helpful ,we didn’t get a chance to take any photos we got stuck in :), if you love satay /curry sauce this is 100 % the best !

18/08/2025: Kids Club is a great idea both our kids loved it and gave mammy n daddy a nice break....Rooms are dated but all amenities are present and the room is of a good size, everything works....prices at the bar are heavy especially for Carlow

In reality: the spicy box - wet chips.
Garlic sauce was forgotten.
Pizza - poorly baked with raw pieces of ham. Kebab with grilled chicken - an incomprehensible mess of everything (no grill effect was noticed🤔) with an incredible amount of sauces.
Not in the wrap, as stated in the photo, but in a bun
