18/04/2026: Just attended an event at the Talbot Hotel. The food was delicious. The management and staff were very friendly and efficient.

26/04/2026: Attended the Lee wedding, honestly don't know where to start, from the moment we arrived we knew that this hotel was special. All the staff we encountered very friendly and helpful. Our room was cosy, clean and comfortable. The food was fabulous from the prewedding food to the actual wedding meal and breakfast the following morning, I honestly couldn't fault it all one bit. Loved the "things to do locally " at the back of the breakfast menu. Lovely idea. What I also enjoyed was that the wedding guests had basically taken over the hotel which made the wedding very personal. Honestly, we would not hesitate in coming back to stay there again.

25/04/2026: An exceptional hotel in a beautiful town . Very large and bright rooms, great breakfast and bar food, and really wonderful staff . In a sea of bland and impersonal hotels, Step House is a place that retains a true sense of hospitality - welcoming, personal and warm. Thank you for making my parents' recent stay so special, for taking such care of my dad, and for the thoughtful gift for their 60th wedding anniversary ! Just wonderful ❤️

23/02/2026: Had Sunday lunch today, Roast Beef with all the trimmings. It was delicious 😋. The flavour so good, I would highly recommend it for food. Lovely friendly staff. Help needed at the cashier's desk, would help greatly with queue. I will be back for more 👍

20/09/2025: The best cafe food in Carlow! Best breakfast bap known to man 👌🏼coffee is fabulous. Great selection of both gluten free meals as well as cakes. The Christmas sambo is just stunning. Very reasonably priced too.

03/04/2026: Stopped off for lunch on a road trip. Staff were lovely. Service was fast and friendly. Food was really hot and there was loads on the plates. It looked like a popular place for lunch for locals and people on the road like ourselves. Plenty of parking. Toilets clean and well stocked. Great atmosphere. Can't fault it. 10/10. Def recommend if you're ever in the area.

03/02/2026: A few of us went here on a Sunday night. Jenny isa top lady and the guinness was unreal. Was lucky enough to taste the local Whisky as well. Smooth doesn't even do it justice! Went back in the morning for the fry and that too was incredible. Couldn't resist but to get another creamy pint.

04/11/2025: A quaint little coffee shop that brings a bit of Brazilian culture to Carlow. The hours are insanely handy for students travelling to school and the owners are amazing! I recommend you try the coxinhas!
