The best restaurants in Carlow

13/09/2025: Abrakebabra Carlow – where kebabs go to die. Honestly, they should be reported to the UN for crimes against kebabs. I ordered kebab and chips, but what I got was a potato festival with a cameo appearance by 7 lonely bits of meat. Seven! I’ve had more chicken fall off my fork by accident than the amount of meat they gave me on purpose. €8.50 for this scam? For that price, I expect a kebab that makes me see God, not a sad chip mountain covered in mayo. Absolute daylight robbery. Never again – unless they’re handing out free magnifying glasses so I can actually find the meat next time

14/08/2025: I arrived at the hotel after 9:00 PM and the restaurant kitchen was closed, only beer. And at the reception they told me that there was a burger place nearby that was open until 11:00 PM. The burger place vaguely resembled McDonald's, and one of the two employees turned out to be a cheerful Czech who lives in this small Irish town. Well, where else would I speak Czech if not at 10 PM in the Irish wilderness. While we were chatting, the Czech made a burger with a double patty and fries and put it all in a paper bag. He just put the fries in. I was a little surprised, but I didn't attach much importance to it, as well as the weight of the bag that was solemnly handed to me, and I, happy, went to the hotel for dinner. But when I opened the bag, I was horrified. In a good sense of the word. Because there were about 10 servings of potatoes, maybe 20. Casserole. That's why the package was so heavy. And I didn't pay attention to it at first. Thank you very much for your kindness and the delicious dinner! 03/06/2025: THE BEST PIZZA PLACE!!!! 💕 My fav place to get pizza, the ham and pineapple pizza is the best u need to get chips they are literally covered in salt!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

28/05/2025: Ordered a cake for my daughters 21st from the quigleys website. Very easy process and cake was absolutely beautiful. Looked great and tasted great. Couldnt have been happier. Really recommend to anyone who is considering using them. Thank you very much quigleys.

10/08/2025: Finally!! An Indian that focuses on taste rather than just blow your head off with hot. One of the tastiest Indian's I've ever had. Highly recommend the buffet! Waiter, she couldn't have been nicer. Highly recommend.

03/09/2025: Aweful experience unfortunately, normally we stop into the mc Donald’s in junction 5 off the motorway, but we changed it up today and went here instead. Service was aweful. We order from the kiosk, our number was on the screen but was never called. I had to ask the server. No one had name tags so the chap who couldn’t have given a more FML vibe serving wasn’t happy. There are 5 table with trays of rubbish as we sit here now as both bins are full with one bin having rubbish on the floor see in the picture and a pool of liquid on the floor. Looks like the front area hasn’t been cleaned all day. The table we sat at had chicken nuggets under it. Servers are dropping trays to the table for the table service and actually walking past the bins. I’m telling myself there’s not enough. Will just stick with the junction 5 McDonalds from now on.

08/07/2025: Review Date: 19 June 2025 I have mixed feelings about this review as I’d be rating two menu items that I have recently tried here. First, their mixed grill kebab with Naan bread ( lamb doner meat + grilled chicken tikka) is amazing. Fresh, right balance of flavor and spices and very generous portion. The dips are amazing and adds a great punch to the flavor. I also love their naan bread which is always fresh and crisp. On the other hand I tried their Chicken Supreme Pizza on multiple occasions and it made me hate Pizzas for the very first time. The dough is ok-ish, a very low quality cheese, Chicken cubes were not even boiled properly. The pizza had a distinct smell and an uncooked flavor profile. Also, I believe Pizzas are over priced.

15/10/2025: Not good at all. Fish was burnt to a crisp, pure black. Weird smell off the bun, donner meat was cold. Chips were OK had they been warm. Chicken tenders were burnt but probably the only good thing in the while order. Also forgot my sauce. Milkshake was good

10/10/2025: Recently I’ve been getting the vegetarian kebab from here once a week and usually really enjoy it, great flavour and value. Unfortunately, my last order contained meat, which was very disappointing as a vegetarian. Just a heads-up for others who order the veggie option. Sadly, I won’t be returning again.

03/08/2025: Food was great, service was excellent. Rooms are a little dated and the pool area needs a revamp but very nice people and a lovely breakfast.

28/07/2025: If every hotel in ireland was ran as good as the seven oaks in carlow I personally think irish would be more prone to staying here at holiday times instead of lining the pockets of other countries. Iv being going there now for over 30 years. I'm now 48 .and have,stayed in a lot of hotels none of them even come close to the welcome/ organisation/ and helpfullness of the staff and management there even,the house keeping staff are outstanding. So I would really recommend a stay and you'll see what I mean. PATRICK AND TRACEY CALLAGHAN

11/10/2025: Really the worst kebab I have seen in my life. The meat had a weird smell and the food was not fresh at all. Even the chips were bad. Had to throw everything. Never eating here again.

08/09/2025: Ordered 2 portion of Vermicilli noodles and a portion of egg fried rice, only got one delivered along with the egg fried rice witch was black and burned and then the second one came burned as well and every veg on it and piece of chicken was black and the smell of smoke and burned food was to much ! Never again, bin the food you get of them , prices are over the top and for what ? Nothing trust me.
