The best restaurants in Cavan

28/06/2026: I have to say that I Johnny Angels 😇 love the food here Pj is a Gentleman and I an Alcohol did Not remember this time that Pj did bring me my delicious Kebab last night but I was Well under the influence of a couple of things. MY MOST SINCERE APOLOGIES Pj.

04/12/2025: My partner and I had heard about this cafe on Facebook so we thought we'd pop in on the way from Donegal down to Meath (we live in Donegal, he grew up in Ballyconnell, and the parents live in Kells,so we thought we'd pop by). It was very disappointing. The Food is 1* at best. "home-made" means "heated up in-store"... It's all processed (minus the cakes which seem to be freshly made). The waiting staff are very un-enthusiastic (bar one woman whose name I think was Annette or Anita.... She seemed to be genuine). The rest behave like they don't want to be there. It seems if you are a friend of the owner you'll be smothered in love, otherwise, you'll be ignored and the un-enthusiastic girls will be left to deal with you. The coffees and cakes are the only redeeming factors, but I'm very disappointed by my experience. We would have had more flavour if we'd waited to get McDonald's 20 minutes down the road.

21/11/2025: Absolutely loved my visit to this café! The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, and the staff are incredibly friendly and attentive. My order came out quickly, and everything tasted fresh. I’ll definitely be coming back.

07/06/2026: At Wedding and had wonderful couple of days. Lovely staff and overall excellent time.

02/06/2026: Best hotel stay in a long time. Staff were top class and place is lovely. Definitely be back.

25/07/2026: The smell of old grease and the sausages smells horrible. The toast was put on the table about 5 minutes before breakfast came... I do not recommend this place

25/05/2026: Excellent cuisine! Friendly staff! Normal prices! The only remark is that the garden is not used, for which we are very sorry! We hope that next time this problem will be fixed! Visit the restaurant!

24/02/2026: The food here is very average... Indeed, the portions are large but no one in our group would be requesting to return for the food. The staff were very friendly.

21/05/2026: If you wanna order from them just know that they are gonna deliver in 2 or 3 hours or maybe 4 worst delivery services ordered more than 20 times from chaska spice but always received it late!!! Otherwise the taste is good

26/07/2026: Genesis is a take away Chinese which is why I didn't rate atmosphere. That said I really wish they opened a restaurant in belturbet. The food is just gorgeous, the ribs, the chicken fried rice, the chicken and mushroom soup, prawn toast, chicken cheese spring rolls (never had these before). Litterally every meal I've had delivered is spot on. Sometimes I add a little soy sauce or a little salt but I eat a lot of salt in general and for me this indicates that Genesis are not as prone in flavor additives such as MSG as most other Chinese takeouts, which is a good thing in general. Their portion sizes are really generous. We always try out chicken and mushroom soup in all Chinese and compare and I have to say many are so scrimpy on chicken and everything else, where Genesis Chinese does not hold back. As I said its a takeaway and delivery service not a restaurant (a pity) because the food is fab and any of the staff I've met in the last year since I've moved here have been just spot on.. In particular the blond Dublin lady that delivers.. she's a little gem. Belturbet is a wee town that has unfortunately witnessed many businesses closed down in the last years. I've been told there was 18 pubs more or less and now only 4 remains. So, if anyone goes to belturbet make sure you go to Genesis Chinese. You won't be disappointed. ❤️

22/05/2026: The Doner Kebab Meal for €9.50 could easily feed 2 people, and the quality of the lamb is fantastic, as well as the super-fresh naan bread wrap. Delicious! Their Indian dishes are currently off the menu but due to return next month - their chicken biriyani is gorgeous.

27/04/2026: I have eaten here before and food was excellent, I was back in the area and decided to eat again. The counter assistant looked like he slept in his clothes and had only got out of bed and then he told me that they don't do Indian food anymore. Considering this is primarily an Indian takeaway with a full Indian menu. I won't be back.

03/05/2026: Large pub in center of Kingscourt. Excellent staff, very clean, good food. Has a lovely outdoor seating area.

21/07/2026: I couldn't recommend the Gourmet Parlour highly enough,ordered beef stroganoff and korma for 20 people, also rice, for a celebration at home,everyone got a large portion and leftovers were eaten the next day, absolutely fabulous food,will 100% be ordering for our next celebration❤️

06/07/2026: Ordered a cake for my daughters Christening from Gourmet Parlour. Lady in the Sligo shop was super helpful and organised the cake to be made and collected from Collooney. It was absolutely delicious and all our family raved about it. Will be back for our next occasion!

05/07/2026: Chicken fillet burger was horrible. Pizza 2 out of 5. Not my taste.

25/05/2026: I am not satisfied with this pizzeria at all. One time I ordered a mixed kebab for the children and I found hair in the wraps. I am really not happy with the food or the service, and I would not recommend this place to people. Thank you.

29/07/2026: Ordered a mixed kebab last night , was hot in some parts of the meat was warm and others still almost frozen cold, worst takeaway ever

13/06/2026: We had the best battered sausages iv ever tasted! Freshly battered whilst we waited The chips were delicious, closest to home made iv ever tasted. An extra dip was thrown in, a gesture which is rarely seen these days. Nice friendly staff.
