01/06/2026: Very old, unique Irish pub. Not loud , most likely there is older ppl,but was nice experience to see how all of them communicating rather listening loud music. Very good quality Guinness 👌

28/04/2026: Very well ran coffee shop, service was good and very quick, has decent coffee and deserts look really good too. Large seating area inside with plenty of natural light, also some outdoor seating with ashtrays.

25/01/2026: Amazing food, flawless service, beautiful restaurant. Left feeling perfectly looked after, pleasantly full and purely content. Had the scallop, venison special and apple tarte tatin. My husband had the special creme brûlée which he adored. Special shout to Niamh who was such a wonderful person and provided us with amazing service. Will 100% be back! Absolutely gem of a restaurant

09/06/2026: always go to top of the town when the dubs are playing fantastic day in their on match day bar staff are a credit and the locals always up for a bit of banter it's wat has gone out of a lot of pubs look forward to this Sunday up cavan

06/04/2026: The best pint of Guinness I have ever had. Great Bar. Colette the lady Woking the being we were there was great. Very welcoming and gave some great advice for a clean Guinness glass at home. Will hopefully be back some day!

16/07/2026: Google and the front door say open till 10:30pm, but staff locked the doors at 10:20. When flagged, they were incredibly argumentative instead of helpful. No SLA for the customers here - unreliable 👎

09/02/2026: Beautiful restaurant serving 5 * food and 5 * service. We were made to feel so welcome and we're truly spoilt with the incredible service and attention to detail topped off with delicious food all whilst sitting by a cosy log burning stove. I can recommend the Tapas especially the scallops and prawns and not forgetting the fillet steak in mushroom and masala sauce cooked to perfection. Thank you for a lovely evening.

15/04/2026: Food hygenine here is none i was told of a previous worker that the fish was out and had flies all over it all the time and i can see its dirty myself funny enough the last time i had fish me and my partner were sick ... we got chips served like par boiled spuds the dirt in the place and what iv heard and seen isnt too good .wouldnt ever return to here standerd of food going down hill rannkkkk avoid

12/06/2026: Just went into their off-licence to buy bottles of Heineken FOURTY FIVE EURO for 24 bottles. Went to Centra and got 20 bottles for €24. Like honestly why bother having an off-licence if you’re going to charge double than the other off-licences in Kingscourt!!!

16/05/2026: The food tasted pre-cooked served tepid. The chips were frozen and sad. The pub was lively, the staff friendly and pleasant. I enjoyed the drinks.

19/05/2026: My boyfriend and I stopped into Castle Street Café on a Saturday for a quick lunch, and we left genuinely delighted. The whole place has a simple, charming atmosphere that immediately puts you at ease, and the warmth of the staff stood out from the moment we walked in. I ordered a BLT, and I really appreciated the small touches — being offered brown or white bread (I went with brown), and being asked whether I’d like relish and mayo (I happily chose both). It arrived with a fresh side salad and coleslaw also. Nothing overly fancy, but everything was genuinely delicious. I paired it with a caramel latte, which was just as lovely. My boyfriend went for the full fry, which he insisted was a solid 10/10. Again, nothing extravagant — just really good food, done right. He also ordered a pot of tea, and the waitress even took a moment to let him know the cast‑iron pot would be hot to touch. He asked for beans to be added to his breakfast, and the staff were more than happy to oblige. One thing we both noticed was how attentive without being intrusive the service was. We weren’t hovered over, but we absolutely felt looked after. We also admired how kindly the staff interacted with elderly customers — patient, warm, and genuinely caring. We were very tempted by the gorgeous Victoria sponge cake in the window, but decided it would be the perfect excuse to come back. When paying at the counter, the staff were friendly, funny, and up for a bit of craic, which left us smiling as we headed out the door. And the price was a pleasant surprise — in a world where breakfast for two often creeps over €40, this was half the price and twice the charm. We walked away with one word in mind: charming. Castle Street Café is a little gem in Kingscourt, and we’ll definitely be back.

16/07/2026: Had my shopping on a table while doing a bit of work on my laptop on my own and was rather aggressively interrupted by a staff member who made a statement regarding food from other premises is not permitted on site. I said politely, I’m not eating anything I didn’t buy here and it’s simply my shopping for home and before I could finish my sentence and say it’s cool I can put it away if it upsets you… I was then accused of Vaping in the Store because that was on the Table as well as I had started to arrange my things for leaving before she then ran off. I had to laugh but don’t think I’ll be back anytime soon. Otherwise it’s a lovely place!!

28/06/2026: I ordered the Pad Thai noodles; as a chicken noodle dish, it was great, but it didn't taste like Pad Thai.

23/06/2026: For me the best Chinese I ever had in Ireland! Everything fresh, more than big enough portions and an extremely friendly lady . Will definitely go back 🤩🤩🤩
