30/11/2025: Just called in to try out and now having a lovely Sunday lunch. So glad we did - food is fabulous, staff are friendly and lovely setting. Don’t hesitate to call in if you are anywhere in Fermanagh or Cavan

14/07/2025: The best takeaway for miles. Their Western food is just OK (it's nice that they offer local foods so that even the picky eaters have options in their comfort zone), but their Asian dishes are fabulous!! Lots of options to choose from (including plenty of vegetarian options), all loaded with fresh vegetables. The portion sizes are very generous for the price....the curries and sides easily serve two people. Delivery can be quite slow, but the food is still piping hot when it arrives. The staff are very friendly, and they're more than happy to help out if you have any questions about the food.

18/12/2025: Have eaten breakfast here on a couple of occasions and it was mostly quite good, the last time however not so good. Nicely situated along the canal. When it comes to payment it is cash only which is quite inconvenient. Don’t get much chat from the staff but they seem like nice people.

12/11/2025: A lovely homey little spot in Ballyconnell town. Plenty of options for all dietary needs. It was like a blast from the past coming in here, but in the best way. It reminded me of childhood. Such a cosy little restaurant.

Nous avons opté pour le plateau de fruits de mer avec huîtres, moules et hareng fumé Très belle et bonne assiette, tout comme les desserts Service sympa et efficace,dans un joli cadre loin des décors des pubs avoisinants (et repas plus calme …) Tout comme l’eau, la note est un peu salée (130 euros les 2 plates + 2 desserts + 4 verres), mais c’est l’Irlande …

28/02/2026: This McDonalds has many problems... First it is FAR TOO SMALL not just for Cavan town, but for its location. Nearly always jammed up because its carpark is tiny, and the exit for the drive through junctions at the entrance for the establishment. Grand design for the 90s maybe. Not for now. Also, most McDonalds nowadays caters to children with a playground type area. This one does not as it does not have the space. If you do have time to kill, and go through the drive through, 8 times put of 10 your food will be cold. (Checked immediately after recieving it, not down the road) They only care to give hot food to people sitting inside, as those customers can go up to the counter to complain. With the drive through, (probably of all mcdonalds) there is never a full menu on display. Only their deals or new stuff. Staff are fine. Usually just young kids. And lastly, can anyone tell me what the difference between a Small, Medium and Large meal is?

22/02/2026: Ordered chicken nuggets and chips through the drive thru on Friday evening, 20th February. Still very unwell 2 days later.

09/09/2025: everything is great food is fresh and even seafood mix taste super fresh and delicious the only thing when we order we specifically say that we want little spice i had mine super spicy my mouth was in fire , and i did complain about it they said they will do 50% discount next order so its nice that they care about custmers but i nevr had before so spicy so i appreciate it that they didn’t ignore my complaint

18/08/2025: Love it, they were super busy when I ordered but still got the food in 15 min. Everything we ordered was fantastic, and we ordered too much and ate for days!

15/02/2026: Booked last minute for valintines night 14th Feb 2026, there was only one other couple the whole time we were their. Service was very slow took over 2 hrs to get main Course. The 2 glasses of red wine Were chilled. The wee lassy serving was great, chinese girl On til had attitude and was horrible to the waitress who was a legend. Avoid

04/12/2025: My partner and I had heard about this cafe on Facebook so we thought we'd pop in on the way from Donegal down to Meath (we live in Donegal, he grew up in Ballyconnell, and the parents live in Kells,so we thought we'd pop by). It was very disappointing. The Food is 1* at best. "home-made" means "heated up in-store"... It's all processed (minus the cakes which seem to be freshly made). The waiting staff are very un-enthusiastic (bar one woman whose name I think was Annette or Anita.... She seemed to be genuine). The rest behave like they don't want to be there. It seems if you are a friend of the owner you'll be smothered in love, otherwise, you'll be ignored and the un-enthusiastic girls will be left to deal with you. The coffees and cakes are the only redeeming factors, but I'm very disappointed by my experience. We would have had more flavour if we'd waited to get McDonald's 20 minutes down the road.

21/11/2025: Absolutely loved my visit to this café! The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, and the staff are incredibly friendly and attentive. My order came out quickly, and everything tasted fresh. I’ll definitely be coming back.

31/12/2025: Hi came in for tea food waiting along time no one came take my order women with purple hair and son there girl short black hair working on this day . came with food 3 men come in every day just like me come in every day never asking me if I want order food very bad asking me take what put up down came back in man Noal came up to me telling me take it down its my right put it up if not doing job right who do you think are tell me take it down Cork people don't take this well never eat have tea this place people ask me about it tell them stay away not good place

29/11/2025: Called in here for a couple of drinks. Atmosphere was laid back but still lively. Lots of families were in to get food so the place was busy. Staff were friendly and efficient. We'll definitely be back.

05/11/2025: On a Saturday morning, the audience consisted 100% of grandparents with their children, young families after a shopping spree or a cinema matinée , and grannies, mommies and babies meet-ups. Yet the "cafe bar" blasted soccer games on all large screens. Talk about not giving a 'continental' about your customers... Zero atmosphere.... We ordered the most interesting items on the menu (apart from pizza). Mayonnaise drenched wraps and toasted sandwiches is what we got. No taste, no flavour, nor creativity or chefs flair... It feels like all they care about is to flog pub grub fillers to sports watching punters after their many pints at the bar. Frothy cappuccino, lattes and babycinos were impossible to tell apart. Could have been anything warm and frothy... How can a cafe bar get it so wrong? It almost feels like they are trying extra hard to chase away customers.... Shame to waste a great town centre location. Waste of our money and time too. {Edit: upgrading to two stars because the floor staff were nice enough.}
