The best restaurants in Cavan

30/08/2026: By far and away the best Chinese takeaway I’ve had. Crispy shredded chicken, spicy chips, salt and chilli ribs. Unbelievable. Their service and friendliness is what makes them stand out for me. Have been coming here for years and that isn’t changing anytime soon! Can’t recommend enough. 5 🌟

26/07/2026: Genesis is a take away Chinese which is why I didn't rate atmosphere. That said I really wish they opened a restaurant in belturbet. The food is just gorgeous, the ribs, the chicken fried rice, the chicken and mushroom soup, prawn toast, chicken cheese spring rolls (never had these before). Litterally every meal I've had delivered is spot on. Sometimes I add a little soy sauce or a little salt but I eat a lot of salt in general and for me this indicates that Genesis are not as prone in flavor additives such as MSG as most other Chinese takeouts, which is a good thing in general. Their portion sizes are really generous. We always try out chicken and mushroom soup in all Chinese and compare and I have to say many are so scrimpy on chicken and everything else, where Genesis Chinese does not hold back. As I said its a takeaway and delivery service not a restaurant (a pity) because the food is fab and any of the staff I've met in the last year since I've moved here have been just spot on.. In particular the blond Dublin lady that delivers.. she's a little gem. Belturbet is a wee town that has unfortunately witnessed many businesses closed down in the last years. I've been told there was 18 pubs more or less and now only 4 remains. So, if anyone goes to belturbet make sure you go to Genesis Chinese. You won't be disappointed. ❤️

06/08/2026: Just had sweet and sour chicken it was excellent, asked the chef to make it with a few changes to it did this for me will order again soon, highly recommend this Restaurant.

28/06/2026: I ordered the Pad Thai noodles; as a chicken noodle dish, it was great, but it didn't taste like Pad Thai.

15/10/2026: Ordered in the drive through long wait, then got food and drove out the road to Killygarry church to eat. Opened bag no straw for milkshake no napkins and no salt, some service a good stand for a takeaway but then that’s not the first time that that has happened in Cavan. Either staff are not well trained or just can’t be bothered.

15/04/2026: Food hygenine here is none i was told of a previous worker that the fish was out and had flies all over it all the time and i can see its dirty myself funny enough the last time i had fish me and my partner were sick ... we got chips served like par boiled spuds the dirt in the place and what iv heard and seen isnt too good .wouldnt ever return to here standerd of food going down hill rannkkkk avoid

11/07/2026: Stopped here today while on a road trip to grab a quick bite to take away. I had the Old Reliable on a panini. Mostly definitely the best panini I have ever had (and I'm fussy). Well done ladies, great service and delicious food 🙂

21/05/2026: If you wanna order from them just know that they are gonna deliver in 2 or 3 hours or maybe 4 worst delivery services ordered more than 20 times from chaska spice but always received it late!!! Otherwise the taste is good

28/07/2026: I have been over charged loads of times I only ordered a kebab but I was charged 16.50e for the horrible chips I had an agreement with Pj because of this because he knows that I drink and he took advantage of that I will Never order anything else ever again.

24/02/2026: The food here is very average... Indeed, the portions are large but no one in our group would be requesting to return for the food. The staff were very friendly.

26/09/2026: Ordered the Satay Veg dish, I asked for no chilli, couldn't accommodate, this dish is insanely spicy for what should be a peanut sauce, cannot taste anything but chilli, nice volume of veg, but not worth it.
