The best restaurants in Cork city council

04/04/2024: Enjoyed a lovely meal here. The service, food and atmosphere all made for a most enjoyable experience. The nibbles starter had amongst other dishes a really tasty hake dip also pleased to say the chicken was free range. Will return and would recommend to friends, etc.

03/04/2024: We had dinner for two at Jacques restaurant. It was absolutely excellent! We had asparagus and mushrooms as a starter, lamb and hake as a main, followed by chocolate and salted caramel tart and medjool as dessert. Every single course blew us away, really. The wines that were offered were excellent too. The servers was extremely professional friendly and personable. Terrific evening. Really recommend this restaurant!

05/04/2024: Had a meal here for my mams birthday and everything was perfect. Food was delicious, cocktails were devine and service was top notch. Would highly recommend

03/04/2024: Fantastic experience. The food was outstanding. Plenty to offer on the menu. Drinks menu was great, particularly the themed tastings. (However, was a bit disappointed that beer came in bottles). Ambiance was lovely, not too formal, but this is a nice place. The service was great. Friendly, quick, and they knew what they were talking about. Fair amount of seating downstairs and up, but I would make a booking ahead of time. I enjoyed it and will be back.

13/03/2024: Beautiful area around the main buildings

06/03/2024: This is my Alma Mater and in many ways this makes me a little biased but the campus is one of the most pretty I have seen anywhere. Built on a hilly site, its undulating treed areas and gardens, not to mention the beautiful river walk along the south channel of the River Lee, make the University grounds exceptionally pretty. One grump I have is that the public are no longer welcomed into society events, a policy that I saw observed with pride, to the point where meetings were advertised publicly. The college is the poorer for it.

04/03/2024: Visitor "attractions" are often such a bore they do anything but attract interest. Nano Nagle Place deserves a category of its own, as a place to visit. I can not do it adequate justice in a few paragraphs. History and social context are explained in print, video, artefacts, and are all backed up by a seriously well stocked gift shop. As if that is not enough, check out the cafe in the garden!

27/03/2024: The stuff was great and with a big smile. They helped us a lot with all the questions we had. We ordered the broth and it was full of delicious. If you are in Cork don’t miss the positive energy of the two cute guys and of course the great food. ❤️

26/03/2024: I had the Kimchi Mac n Cheese with the King Oyster Mushroom Drumstick and it was amazing !

17/03/2024: Wow - what a yummie experience today for 5 of us who stumbled upon this quirky restaurant. Staff where so friendly, food came promptly and I would highly recommend the King 82 😋. I'll be back and will definitely recommend to friends.

14/03/2024: Nice venue and nice food. I would given a full 5 stars but yolk on my eggs florentine was overcooked and not runny like it should be. Definetely come back to try more dishes. Thanks for letting us in a bit earlier.

26/03/2024: It's my favourite cork cocktail here. the amaretto sour. I recommend it. Every time I go I order for it. The staff always are very friendly and there is a relaxing atmosphere ideal for talking to friends.

11/03/2024: 4.3 stars. Checked out the Marina Market after a local recommended it to us. Upon arriving here, my wife and I decided to give the Stew Store a try. I ordered the Irish Beef Stew while my wife had the Vegan Chola Masala. Solid portions and freshly made. Reasonable prices ($13.95 each). Took a few minutes but food was of good quality.

04/02/2024: First time I ate here, I ordered Chicken Tikka Masala and it blew my mind. I was so used to what you'd get at a typical Indian restaurant with the pink sauce overloaded with Tomato paste, but what I got was a real and authentic dish made fresh, with passion and by someone who loves good food. I've come back again and again, trying everything else they have to offer and it never fails to surprise and amaze. Owned and run by an absolutely lovely couple, with a clear passion and enthusiasm for good and real dishes from around the world, they'll open your mind and pallet to what we've been missing out on. Absolute customer for life.

01/05/2024: Very delicious food and nice atmosphere. Service was friendly and very fast. Possibly the best dinner in town. Had the fillet of seabass and the mussels, great choices

27/04/2024: Excellent experience, it was me, husband and son two nights in the week we visited Cork. Very nice place, we really liked the food, friendly and helpful staff. The seafood soup is wonderful. I recommend it 🇧🇷

02/04/2024: A large group of us went there recently and they catered for us very well. Will glady go back again. Pizzas are great but varying up the menu is probably needed.

18/03/2024: Great pub, good choice of beers, wines and spirits. Staff are sound. The interior is cosy and there is a large smoking/out door seating area which has covered/uncovered seating on a sunny day and has a extending canopy for the colder/wet days. Lovely atmosphere and the pizzas a good. Dog friendly too.

30/03/2024: First time in Paladar last night. Couldn’t fault it. Great atmosphere, food was excellent, and brilliant service! The staff couldn’t have been nicer and you were never left wanting for anything. Can’t wait to return!

21/03/2024: THIEVES However great this bar-restaurant could be, they are above all thieves as I have been charged 120euros for not showing up and have properly cancelled prior! The protection of businesses is something I respect and value BUT the way the owner decides to operate his policy is abusive!

08/03/2024: Great, quiet traditional Irish pub. Small selection of local beers on tap but great quality pints. Surprisingly all gluten free also if needed

22/01/2024: One of the best hidden spots in the city. Won't pop up on any lists, but great little spot that feels like you're in a living room, drinking pints and listening to tunes.

18/03/2024: Great pub but is completely let down by one rude staff member. The staff member in question was a bald man who I presume to be possibly a manager. While queuing for a drink at the bar, he screamed in my face that I had to move or wouldn’t be served. I was completely taken aback as I was not in anyone’s way and also was appalled at the way I was spoken to. I told the manager I had no problem moving if I was asked politely to which he screamed in my face again that I would not be served. I was standing in front of the entrance to the bar without seeing that there was a sign asking for that area to be kept clear so understand that I did need to move but the way in which I was asked to do so was completely unacceptable. Obviously an egotistical person on a power trip, I pity any staff under his management if this is how paying customers are spoken to. Hopefully this review will remind him that manners and respect are free. Lovely pub and great pizza but will be slow to return.
