Kubo
Cork
14/01/2024: Kubos closed towards the end of 2023 with zero notice to their loyal customers when they shut their doors - either in store, on social media, or online. They eventually put a sheet of A4 paper on their window to say that the establishment was undergoing refurbished and will be open again soon. Shocked to see its now gone and another generic taco chain has opened in its place. Horribly disappointing professionalism by the owner of Kubos on the run up to their exit from Douglas after all these years
26/11/2023: Worst grub in Douglas, honestly can’t understand how they’re still open for all these years, Thai food that doesn’t get justice, avoid

Edison
Cork
24/11/2025: Great cocktails and bar games here, security staff are very friendly and welcoming, lovely staff too.
22/10/2025: It’s unfortunate that I feel the need to leave this review, as I’ve known the owner for quite some time. However, I’ve noticed a significant decline in the overall standards at Edison recently.
One serious concern is that I’ve observed the head of security consuming alcohol while on duty. On one occasion, he even showed me a cup of what appeared to be whiskey. This raises obvious safety and reputational issues for the venue.
Additionally, the atmosphere has suffered due to poor music selection, particularly from the “Play House” DJ. Despite frequently mentioning his global experience, the sets feel uninspired and out of touch with the crowd.
It’s disappointing to see things deteriorate like this, as Edison used to be a fantastic spot. I really hope management reviews both the entertainment lineup and their security practices — it would go a long way toward restoring the venue’s former quality.

Al's Little Island
Cork
28/05/2025: A great place for coffee if you are walking the Glountaune Greenway. A good spot for brunch and lunch too. There is a great variety of food options available here. If you're trying to resist eating pastries, then this is not the spot for you. They have a huge range of buns, scones, cakes etc.

Spice of India
Cork
17/06/2024: Very nice dinner! The staff are lovely and very attentive. The portions are enormous, we ended up having leftovers, which the waiter boxed up for us to take away. Lovely experience, we will be back!
07/06/2024: Worst Indian I've ever had. Had the tikia masala naan, bajii, and naan the tika masala tasted like washing up liquid and I'd say the chicken was borderline gone off, the bajii was burnt to a crisp the naan was full of oil. And the place was empty.... no wonder.
Would I go back.... not a chance

Indian Aagrah
Cork
16/07/2024: I went here with my friend, food was very tasty and every dish a different colour, so made properly (unlike a lot on Indians!) very tasty, had a kick as it should and the naan...oh my! We had a family sharing one, it was HUGE and such good fun.
