21/02/2024: Terrible cafe! Ordered a coffee at cafe sol in the Ilac centre today and received the worst service possible. Firstly, the staff forgot my order twice and asked me to repeat it. After waiting a ridiculous amount of time I was served the wrong coffee. When I told the staff this they completely ignored me and the cashier continued to ask me to pay for it!!! After repeating several times that I had ordered a cappuccino and not a laté , the cashier was extremely rude and told me that they are the same thing and that she could make a cappuccino for me if “I want” but “they are the same”. Meanwhile, the staff making the coffee just stared blankly at me knowing they had made a mistake. None of the staff apologised and I am appalled that they didn’t acknowledge that they had made the wrong coffee even after me telling them several times. I took the wrong coffee in the end and it wasn’t even that nice(sure it wasn’t what I had ordered) even though I paid for it. Won’t be returning! Do not recommend.

12/01/2024: Bought a coffee and a sandwich there today. Both were delicious. I was served by a wonderfully pleasant young lady and an older gentleman who were both extremely polite and friendly. I’m not from the area so it’s unlikely that I’ll be back, but would highly recommend Cafe 53 to anyone who is looking for a nice coffee and a quick bite to eat.

02/03/2024: Buy all the family phones and tablets here and when they break have them fixed here. Very helpful, good price and always willing to give advice.

29/07/2023: Love my kebabs, so these are always nice, it's in a garage with groceries as well, but has a nice little dining area, nice staff, give plenty on the kebab.

22/07/2023: Asked for a doner kebab tray, and all I got was a tiny box full of vegetables and about 5 tiny pieces of doner. Disappointing as I spend 8€ and didn't even snack

02/11/2023: Ted created a fabulous chocolate biscuit cake taking inspiration from a photo and short chat with him. The cake was for a 50th and a regular sea swimmer at Sandycove. I could not get over how many elements he was able to incorporate. Thanks
