13/09/2025: Writing a review from today 13/09/2025. Ordered a tea to sit in. The Eastern European lady did not make my tea for over 10 minutes. I stood up to ask for my tea and an Asian lady kindly made the tea immediately it appeared the first server forgot. No apology provided. As I was leaving the premises I put a paper bag in the bin for rubbish. On seeing me putting the bag in the bin, the Eastern European server removed my bag from the bin and placed it on a table and stated “excuse me don’t put that in the bin it’s yours”. It was a recycling bin so in the correct bin? She then rolled her eyes had a very negative attitude and walked away. Very rude and unnecessary behavior from this waitress. The bag was a paper bag from another premises but was clean and placed in the correct bin. Please educate your staff on appropriate customer service etiquette & if there is a policy about not putting paper bags from other premises in a bin please inform customers so they don’t have to face such an interaction as I did today.

17/08/2025: Yes, it's a chain. But it is also a local coffee shop. Easy parking, abundant seating. Good espresso drinks, what's not to like!

05/01/2026: NOT GOING BACK My local bike shop in Cabinteely was super busy just before Christmas and couldn't fix some broken spokes on my rear wheel until early January so I brought it to The Cycle Hub as I didn't want to be without a bike for two weeks. My bike has a belt drive with an internal gear hub. Spokes were fixed okay but when I cycled away, the drive slipped badly when I went up any hill. Brought it back immediately to the shop and after they had checked the bike, the mechanic - tall guy with a tache - told that there was a problem with the internal gear hub. When I questioned this, I was told that that it was just a coincidence that this problem emerged at the same time as when they were repairing the spokes! It had nothing to do with the repairs they'd just done! He was absolutely insistent that this was coincidental and, and he told me that he could hear a problem in the internal hub. He couldn't give me a price for a necessary repair - he would need to take the hub apart to see the problem - but would give me a discount on the cost! At this point, I had lost faith in what I was being told and decided that any necessary repairs would be entrusted to my local bike shop. I told him that I wasn't leaving the bike with them and they then remounted the wheel. I was resigned to pushing the bike up any hills to get it home. BUT on my way home the second time, there was no slippage of the drive at all! And since then, I've cycled over 150km without any issue. So what's going on? My conclusion is that they just hadn't remounted the wheel properly after repairing the spokes and that was why the belt drive was slipping but that they got it right the second time. If I had taken them at their word, they would have engaged in unnecessary 'repairs' and I expect they would have charged me for that. The kindest explanation of the whole episode is that they don't know what they're doing.

01/08/2025: Great. Got a full service and new tyre in very quick time. Prices in shop for small accessories cheaper than Amazon in my experience.

11/10/2025: One of the worst experiences I have had, and I didn’t even try their food. We waited just under 20 minutes before someone came to our table, and that was after I had to go up to the host and ask if we could order. Keeping our 5yo entertained was not easy. When we then said that my wife was a coeliac the waitress said everything on their menu had gluten in it. Literally no options for a Coeliac. This made no sense as they had chicken, salads. Their burgers must be terrible, if they have flour in them! We left immediately, and they couldn’t care less. As we left we saw others with food and it looked cheap and nasty. Avoid at all costs

29/09/2025: Food is normally amazing just a few times recently it’s tasted like quite a bit worse when the food is good I’d recommend with flying colours

31/12/2025: Place is absolutely milking people with their tapas / sharing plates for 15 quid. I went there with 4 friends. We were initially under the impression that 15 euro per person = 4 plates. 2 plates of food were served Food was fine but in no reality was there 60 euro worth of food on those 2 plates. If going, you're better off ordering something off the normal menu for less, if that is an option. Bouncers at the door seemed a bit short tempered / needlessly aggressive also, barking at people as they came in to give their names / confirm booking. Just gave us a bad vibe before we even sat down to eat. Overall not a great experience here and wouldn't be rushing back.

19/07/2025: As we are creatures of habit, we strolled in to Starbucks for a coffee and a blueberry muffin. The service was excellent, very polite. Food and coffee were great. Great spot to sit and relax when out and about.

08/02/2026: Nice, quiet pub. We stopped for a drink and when we asked for the drinks menu, we were told, "We don't have a drinks menu." So, we ordered two beers, a Guinness and a Rockshore. We paid almost €16. If I'd known a beer was that expensive, I probably would have ordered something else. But since there wasn't a menu with prices, I couldn't have known!

09/11/2025: The food is delicious, but the service leaves something to be desired! There are so many staff, yet there are still unpleasant moments with orders, confusion and forgetfulness. Waiting 20 minutes for a slice of pizza?

20/10/2025: I still dream about that ham and cheese toastie. It was absolutely delicious and the perfect meal before our hike in Howth. My sister had the vegan option and was very happy with it. Don't miss out on trying it when you visit Howth!

30/10/2025: Got the Twisted Tikka Masala and my boyfriend got some curry dish. The curry was good, but the Tikka Masala was not what I would consider a Tikka Masala. The flavour was only of tomatoes, there was minimal spices added, the colour was red rather then the usual orangey colour. I ordered for takeout so I was glad to have spices at home to fix it… but I would have definitely asked for something else if I was there in person. Pretty pricey as well for the quality and portion
