The best restaurants in Dublin

16/08/2025: Sadly, I have to add to the bad reviews as there must have been a change of ownership at Daddy's? Or maybe it's lack of basic staff training? Ordered two sit in americanos only to get two watery drinks in take away cups, with badly pulled shots and plenty of coffee grounds in the bottom. I used to work in speciality coffee, so can spot a carelessly made coffee from miles away. The staff were pretty unwelcoming also. I won't be back!

14/07/2025: Sorry to say I have to add to the bad reviews as of late. Daddy’s used to be known for its phenomenal food and in theory the dishes are amazing. However the standard is extremely low now especially for the price you pay. On the last occasion I visited I was heavily pregnant. I got the full fry, and everything on it except the toast was disastrous. The sausage was pale, the pudding was undercooked and lukewarm and flavour was on the turn, mushroom was soggy, egg undercooked, and the bacon was hard. I would be embarrassed as kitchen staff to send that out. As for the service, we were waiting ages to be seated, ages for order to be taken, ages for food to arrive and no follow up for us to order more coffee etc. The place was dead so no excuse and plenty of staff on the floor. I used to work in the food industry and know that bad reviews can be terrible for a place but given the previous high standard I just hope owners will make some changes to get it back to what it was. As for now I won’t be back and it genuinely makes me sad! 2 stars given for the creative menu but otherwise, 1 star from me

02/09/2025: Had chicken Kabab, Donor Kabab and fries. The portion size, quality and taste, everything is super good. The bread was also really good and soft! It was my first time and I am now their permanent customer 😍😍.. looking forward to try chicken shish kabab and lamb kabab.

12/10/2025: A place were myself and my family looked forward to going. To now deciding to never come back. The quality and portions of food were very bad. We left the restaurant still hungry. The prices has gone up and their menu has been made smaller with less options to choose from. The service was bad as the staff were very forgetful. This Captain Americas used to be great. We were very disappointed to what it has become.

28/09/2025: Took over a hour to get main course ..staff told us that after starters it's up to 20 mins to get mains...we arrived at 15:25 and got mains at 16:40... we had kids with us and had to ask a few times where are food was ..took 10 mins to get deserts after asking for it at least 20 mins after kids finishing there meals...

30/08/2025: Food quality has really gone downhill in recent years. Meat used to be tasty and fresh, now it feels likes it’s defrosted. Furthermore now it’s invariably fatty, not lean. I’ve had some great takeaways from here in the past, however last three have been consistently bad. Rice also just reheated and stodge. Used to be worth the price premium but certainly not now. I won’t be going back until things improve, especially the quality of the meat… there’s plenty of other options in the neighborhood and I can imagine I’m not the only customer that feels this way. Really hope there’s an improvement in food in the near future… how I’ll figure that out I don’t know…

07/10/2025: 3 of us went on sunday to try Robyns sunday dinner. There was 2 people & a small gathering down the back already there. We were met with a waitress showed to a table, which are mainly all high stool tables. 30 mins later, after we had to ask could we give our order the girl took our order including the drinks, long time to be sitting waiting without been asked for drinks. While we sat waiting another 20 odd mins for food. In the time we were sat waiting we had counted 14 people came and had to seat themselves or were left waiting that long they just got up and left. The place was not busy at all at this time so no need for customers to be left waiting so long. The party down the back was not approached once while we were there from staff, as you would be normaly asked if everything was ok, clearing tables etc. The staff definitely need some more hospitality training and maybe keep their hairs tied back while serving the food. Its a shame to see so many walk out as the food was absolutely gorgeous so 10/10, everything was cooked to perfection and the sunday roast is 10/10, only beef option available which is mouth watering but a chicken or ham would be great if it was available

28/09/2025: Very Disappointing to be turned away at the door because they don't like the look of you! Me an my partner wanted to have a late drink and we were refused for no reason I wouldn't mind if we were drunk and falling all over the place like the people that were being served inside that were outside smoking!! Absolute pricks on the door!

28/08/2024: This is great to have in the area and service is great but it’s really disappointing that they’ve dropped most of the savoury options and the focus is now on overly sweet breakfast/brunch options and cakes.

27/08/2024: Lovely people, perfect coffee and exceptional food. The overnight oats is a favourite, love the way the toppings change with the seasons.

08/06/2025: Decent fish and chips that suffer slightly from being served in a vertical bag instead of being wrapped horizontally. Clean shop. Depressed staff.

16/09/2025: disappointing to arrive to closed doors, even though your opening hours on Google Maps say you’re open until 21:00. there was no sign / explanation. please advise as I’d like to return!

21/09/2025: I am still undecided about what I shall think. The breakfast looks good. Did not get served yet. On a sunny day the staff is busy. Update. The table got cleaned. And I ordered. Orange juice arrived and tastes Update2. The food is good. If you arrive at inconvenient time you may have to wait a few minutes for getting attention and the menu. After ordering, getting coffee may take another few minutes. Despite waiting time, I would come here again.
