25/06/2025: I had one of the worst dining experiences at Vela. The food was incredibly disappointing—bland, greasy, and lacked any authentic flavor. We waited over 20 minutes just to get our order, and when it finally arrived, it wasn’t worth the wait. Every dish tasted like it had been sitting around for too long, and even the rice and naan were subpar. The service was slow and indifferent, with staff barely paying attention to the tables. Overall, it was a complete letdown. I’ve had amazing Indian food elsewhere, but this place completely missed the mark. Definitely not coming back, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.
02/05/2025: Overpriced for the small variety of food and the food itself were all very spices, having similar taste. This new version (shahi palace or something) is worse than before. No kids food options. Would not reccomend.

10/06/2025: Great little subway shop. Inside Central, so look carefully. I was served by very kind young man who prepared a sandwich exactly like I wanted - it was awesome! Very happy with the service, even happier with the price. Highly recommend!

21/05/2025: I've been coming here for 4 years about 3 or 4 times a week, the staff here are lovely and so kind. Today there's been a violent incident that the security guard yelled at a young mother. This was clearly an act of racism. It was very disappointing to see that this individual created a disgusted atmosphere in this lovely coffee shop.

16/04/2025: I got a fish box meal the minute I bit into the smoked cod it was hard and it smelled gone off like it was lying there for days it was also black In colour i rang and the woman said come back and she will refund me when i went back she questioned me and even laughed she even asked me for the drink back and the sauce so unprofessional of her she lied and said the fish is made daily I am sorry I never took a photo of this but looking back on a comment from last week there was a similar issue with a customers smoked cod so she would want to stop being in denial about her discussing fish
05/04/2025: I got a smoked cod in batter with chips. Tge fish was overcooked and dry also the battery was a little burned and tge chips where average. Won't go here again.

05/06/2025: There is a blonde woman working in the women’s department here and she is, without doubt, the rudest ‘sales person’ I have ever come across in my life. The first time I encountered her I thought she might just be having a terrible day, but the second time was inexcusable. She should not be working in a job that involves interacting with members of the public. That is all.
02/06/2025: Couldn't get item that I came here for.
No pricing on alternative item until I got to till. Told discount was on all purchases, but at till was told it only applied to loyalty card. No online availability due to cyber incident that happened ages ago.

Fried rice with prawns and chicken, came with "no prawns" and stale dried chicken! Rice was salty and tasted horrible.
Fried turkey spicy with plantain, came with turkey that was dried and soaked in oil (how they managed to achieve that is beyond my imagination).
Packaging had tags half ripped -off making it look like it was repurposed for my order!
I threw the entire order in the thrash!
19/02/2025: Avoid Only One Nana at all costs! The food and service were abysmal. The Egusi was an over-salted disaster—completely inedible. The chicken? Spoiled and unfresh. When I politely shared my concerns, the owner didn’t just dismiss me—he was outright rude, condescending, and combative. Instead of taking feedback, he arrogantly claimed the issue was with my taste buds. If you enjoy being served bad food with a side of hostility, this is the place for you. Otherwise, steer clear. Spare your tastebuds and your money

03/04/2025: These geniuses have four different spice bags on their Deliveroo menu (A,B,C and D). Yet, they do not describe what a spice bag is, nor how each of them differs from one another. An Alamazingly efficient way of losing potential customers.
