The best restaurants in Malahide

11/05/2025: Our Uber driver recommended this place. He described it as an Irish tapas bar, which was a pretty good description. We had small plates that were French/Japanese. flavorful sauces, and a beautifully displayed. It was probably the best restaurant and food. I’ve been to in five years. Totally unexpected but fabulous. I had mussels, scallops, salmon, and steak, lamb, and shrimp.

08/05/2025: A gem of a restaurant with truly delicious food, with the menu changing all the time, but never disappoints! Make sure you go when you are hungry! Simon and his kitchen crew produce amazing food which will bring you back again and again. Super location too in Malahide village with a fabulous view. Lastly, but by no means least....Magda and Annetta are quite simply amazing! Nothing is ever a problem for them and they always ensure the smooth running of the restaurant. (There are often quite large parties there). I could not praise them highly enough! Well done Magda, Annetta and all your team for making the Greedy Goose a real gem!

11/06/2025: Typical Irish pub. It is located in a small street in the small center of the town where there are also other places. We ordered fish and chips and a brunch/breakfast dish: good and honest dishes. Orders must be placed at the counter otherwise they do not come to the table to take it (but it is also written on the menu). We went for lunch on a weekday. Nice atmosphere.

22/06/2025: If you are looking to eat somewhere, AVOID!!!! All the food was terrible quality. I got a pizza and it tasted like it was purchased in Centra and stuck in the oven. Disgusting. Staff are also untrained. Good atmosphere

21/06/2025: Good food selection of traditional Irish and other standard pub fare and a kids menu. Large establishment with lots of seating, local hurling matches on TV and cold drinks situated right on a very cool city street that's closed for pedestrian traffic only. Safe and clean, kids welcome

26/05/2025: Had a lovely dinner here, prompt service and the best crab claws I’ve ever had. Good wine list matched to a versatile menu. Staff great. Highly recommended venue.

04/05/2025: We had been regulars at this resturant as the culinary standards are excellent but over the past year the specials menu has essentially remained unchanged , in fact some of the choices , monkfish curry, seabass, fish and chips have remained unchanged for years. Given the standard of the chefs, it’s difficult to understand the reason for the short repetitive menu which does not encourage return visits. Having said that the food and ambience are excellent for an occasional visit. Thorview

27/06/2025: Gorgeous food! Amazing service & beautiful decor. Went here for dinner Friday eve. Everything was amazing. Haven’t experienced service like this anywhere else, very friendly and polished but still relaxed. Food was top class. Time between courses was perfect. Cannot fault.

08/06/2025: We had burrata and garlic bread for starters, and pizza, seafood spaghetti and ravioli for mains. Everything was amazingly good. The service was super friendly and very attentive at all times. We recommend it 100%, we will be back.

30/05/2025: They were able to sit us (group of 5) without a reservation on a Friday night. The positives stop there. We were sat outside under a tree that provided freshly grated bird feces at a table that was not wiped down. No worries, the waitstaff who were giving their best “this is my first job” impression had no intention of cleaning it off. Moving on. We had finished two bottles of wine before having our order taken (at least an hour in). The wine was good, but likely because they had nothing to do with it besides opening it. The food was mid. Could be better, could be worse. Cherry on top was the order of bread that we placed resulted in 3 pieces of raw bread (literally dropped in a toaster and called it a day) for a table of 5. Safe to say we didn’t stay for dessert. At least they were able to sit us on a Friday night with no reservation. In hindsight, not a surprise.

13/05/2025: Had a really great breakfast at my most recent visit. They were busy but we got a seat at the bar & both ordered the Deja Vu breakfast. It was delicious 💚

28/06/2025: I had a bad experience ordering a takeaway wrap here today - I waited 30 minutes for my food and despite checking in often with the staff on progress and being visibly present, they had forgotten to give me my order and had left it behind the counter to go cold. I also wasn’t offered any apology which would have greatly helped, not a great experience, especially at 39 weeks pregnant!

27/06/2025: Decent food and service, but the cleanliness is a let down. Toilets are not kept clean (customers are to blame for the mess, but the business should do better at keeping on top of it).

12/06/2025: Visited Siam Thai for a business dinner. We were very well looked after - the food is delicious.

04/06/2025: Always enjoy visiting here. Food is always to die for. I constantly think about those spring rolls! Pity there are limited vegetarian dishes as most vegetable dishes still contain fish sauce, etc, in ingredients.
