The best restaurantsof irish in Cork

21/12/2025: One of my favourite pubs in the city! The beer garden is huge and such a vibe during the summer. Wide selection of drink. The (I think) Australian bouncer is so lovely and funny!!

08/12/2025: Our little troupe of geriatric walkers booked our Christmas night out in "Deep South" and from the first contact to the last we were met with outstanding hospitality and real appreciation for the custom. As the organiser, I have to give a special mention to Alannah who was absolutely superb and for whom no detail was too small, even though we were only a group of 13 and there were some big company nights on as well. We were also asked if anyone had any special dietary requirements. As a party venue I would highly recommend "Deep South" and, whoever is organising next year's gig, I imagine there will be no complaints if we return for the next instalment.

07/12/2025: At €7.40 for a pint of Heineken it's a disgrace a pub in Cork is selling a pint at this price. Tourist beware. Just because it is the only surviving pub on the main City Centre street and has a few outdoor chairs. Also notable that it is a historic building. That is no excuse for serving a pint in Cork City at that price. Especially with the reductions to the vinters this year. That is just blatant price gouging. Located on St Patrick's Street. Took my business else where and got less expensive. Two pints here is more then the average person makes from an hours wage. Disgraceful.

27/11/2025: Cosy pub. Nice atmosphere and good service.

30/12/2025: There hardly any parking spots due to local people park and use gym and pool. I have rented the apartments and very loud music coming from the bar that is up over the apartments and next to it. Until midnight.

28/12/2025: I've stayed in a lot of 4 star hotels, and truly, The Montenotte blows the rest out of the water. I actually did not want to go home after two nights away here, I was so relaxed and comfortable. The service from the lovely staff, the food, and the amenities are second to none. We had dinner for our engagement anniversary and it tasted absolutely amazing - food we had elsewhere on the second night seemed so bland by comparison. The drinks and cocktails were delightful also in The Glasshouse and the live music in both the restaurant and bar makes it truly special. Breakfast was amazing - an excellent continental selection for making a yoghurt and berry bowl with seeds and nuts, a huge selection of cooked food, and eggs cooked to order. Liked the coffee also, both in the room and at the restaurant. The pool and amenities were very quiet and spacious - as a person who wanted some quiet time, this was amazing to not be struggling for personal space. Loved the free cinema each night; a special treat. The gardens are very tranquil with interesting sculptures and beautiful to look out on from the balconies. I will certainly be back again soon. Worth every cent!

03/01/2026: Food is as tired as patrons. Owner is nice but he won't have to travel far to seek inspiration. Perfect aranchino is served across the street at KCs. His version is undercooked rice and tasteless blub. Food is mediocre reminiscent of Alitalia airplane offering or Ryanair lasagna. Drinks 🍸 are saving grace here

14/11/2025: Overall, I'd never visit again. For the cost the food was abysmal, the staff were perfectly pleasant and the place was clean and tidy. I'd ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala. The rice reminded me of poorly made boil in the bag stuff, very watery and without flavour, the naan bread could have been used as a frisbee. The curry and chicken were nice enough but honestly for 18 euro it was awful.

08/10/2024: Favorite chip shop of mine over more than a decade of visiting Cork on occasion. With that said my last visit a few weeks ago ended up with them giving me the wrong order that I did not realize was the case until long away from the shop. Chicken supper instead of the Cod Supper that I ordered. It was still good but it sad that I didn't get one last Cod Supper before they shut down for good this past weekend.

24/12/2025: Welcome to Brick Lane pub, a cosy and beautiful place to grab a drink and unwind. Brick Lane in Cork is a lively, stylish spot with a great atmosphere that feels both relaxed and vibrant. It’s known for generous portions, well-cooked food, and friendly service, making it perfect for a casual meal with friends or a night out. The menu offers comforting classics done well, and the warm pub-style setting makes it a place you’ll want to come back to. I chose the grilled steak with pepper sauce and chips, and it was delicious! I highly recommend this place for its comfort and the friendly vibe of the staff.

13/11/2025: The worst fish and chips I had in Cork. Just big slice of fish, no lemon, black pepper, some parts too thick. Overal tasteless experience.

27/12/2025: Great pub kind staff amazing stew but there was no live music at 2 on weekends as advertised. I just want to hear some traditional Irish music while I have a pint

12/12/2025: I have just had a fantastic experience here for lunch with my Mother. We arrived without a booking, and, were welcomed and accommodated straight away, with a genuine warm greeting. A great selection of food, from starters, to mains, to nibbles. The drinks menu is fairly extensive also!! I went for the chicken Cesar salad, and, a Murphy's....... Both were nothing shy of perfection! 👌 My Mother had the goats cheese salad with walnuts and pear...... It looked great!!...... I can't comment on how nice it was, but, I can tell you this, she didn't want to share!! ☺️ Vitoria, our server, was just n point, and efficient across the board! A great smile, and approach. Thanks to the team, and, Vitoria. Well done guys!! I definitely will be back, and, I definitely would recommend!! Great value, and quality all round.

29/12/2025: The food is really top class for the reasonable price. High quality, high intention. My wife, four year old and I went the whole hog with three courses, and every part of every dish was a very thoughtful version of what it was. So we got a good cross section of the menu - deep fried brie, wings, curry, burger, goujons, cheesecake, so on. None of it felt generic or from the freezer. The environment was well lit, warm, nothing loud, friendly hum of chatter from around the bar. And most of all, all the staff were very friendly. They all felt genuinely warm and happy to be there. It of course makes all the difference. Our favorite pub grub right now I think. Great experience here!

18/12/2025: Had coffee AND COMPLIMENTARY scones and lunch with my colleagues in this well managed, comfortable and extremely clean establishment, would like to thank Darragh and Alison for their company and professionalism,,,this was the first time and certainly won't be the last time on these premises
