Montenotte Bistro

31/03/2026: Just had a wonderful break at the Montenotte, room was very comfortable and everything needed was available. Breakfast in the panorama lounge was delicious with beautiful views of the city. Drinks in the night overlooking the lights of Cork is wonderful. Staff are very attentive and friendly. The short walk downhill is easy to access the city and it's a very short uphill taxi back. We'll certainly return
25/03/2026: Off busy narrow street, so have a good navigation so you don't miss the entry like we did, as it was a bear to get back here. Otherwise, this has been the best hotel we have stayed while in Ireland so far. The staff and hotels attention to details are top notch. You should not be disappointed!

03/02/2026: There are some vacancies. The hot chocolate and cappuccino are good quality. The espresso is bitter, perhaps over-roasted. Overall, it's a good place to relax and grab a bite. Prices are average for the area.
02/02/2026: We ordered four different sandwiches and they were all so delicious. The Chai Latte and Cappuccino were great too.

07/04/2026: The atmosphere is typical of an Irish pub, welcoming and trendy.
I made a reservation, they were very thorough and even asked for the age of my guests.
On the scheduled day, the kitchen was closed and I had no food to serve my guests.
This is absurd, considering that when I made the reservation I said we only wanted to eat, drink and talk.
27/03/2026: They don’t put enough people on during busy times and it’s crazy to get a drink. Also smells

04/05/2026: Great food and the staff were so friendly brilliant atmosphere there.
03/05/2026: I met friends for a drink sitting in smoking area off the bar. Everything went fine with bar service but towards the end of my visit some other people that were also sitting in same room were being obnoxious. Same thing could happen anywhere but left disappointed since I couldn't hear people talking over the yelling and outbursts.

19/04/2026: The food quality was terrible. We ordered roast turkey and roast bacon with broccoli, but the broccoli was yellow and not fresh. The worst part was the cauliflower vegetarian steak; the cauliflower was burnt. The steak was okay.

Sndwiches, wraps & rolls...different variety of each...all very fresh tasty...and all enjoyed by my guests!!!Most asked where I got them and had no problem passing on details...

18/04/2026: Really disappointing experience at Suttons Bar & Bistro. We were told they would provide plain pasta for the kids, but what arrived was just bland, unsalted boiled pasta with no care or effort put into it.
When we asked for a sauce to go with it, they brought out chilli sauce — completely inappropriate for kids.
We were also told the burger would come with cheese and sauce, but instead it was just bread with a few chicken tenders. Completely different from what was described.
This was supposed to be a special dinner for my son’s 7th birthday, and it ended up being a real letdown. €95 spent on a meal that didn’t match expectations and spoiled an important evening. I wouldn’t recommend based on our experience.
