The best restaurantsof irish in Cork

18/04/2026: We have nothing but great things to say about Cask. This would be the first cocktail bar we have ever visited that cared so much about its hand crafted drinks that they created a booklet to explain them. The drinks were amazing and very locally sourced. The food was just as good, so good in fact we visited two nights in a row. Both the bartender Michael and the host Harry were as excellent as they were friendly. If we didn't live "across the pond" this would be our go to spot for a nice night out.

17/04/2026: Cocktails and staff were amazing. Between us we tried 6 cocktails. B eef cheeks and mushrooms tasted like salt container had fallen into the dish. Just order chips and bread.

31/03/2026: Average burger, chips needed more time in the oil.

22/03/2026: The burgers are very very good. Fish supper is excellent. Solid chips. Prompt service. Highly recommended.

20/02/2026: Went here tonight for some food , big mistake and even bigger let down , I got a chicken burger and chips , there was no taste whatsoever in the burger it was terrible and the chips were all burnt so badly that they were completely unbeatable , a member of staff asked was everything OK, i showed her the chips and she fully agreed with me and apologised straight away , I would definitely have got nicer food in supermacs fast food takeaway , I basically paid €20 for an apology , first and definitely last time going here , Cork is full of really nice places to eat I just happened to pick one of the worst places to waste my hard earned money and time , please for your own sake dont make the stupid mistake I made by going here....

08/05/2026: Great restaurant atmosphere with two entrances, loads of seats and buzz We had the Scallops and Mussels to start; both delicious and the right size for appetizers. For mains we had the Fried Squid and the Portmagee Fisherman's pot. Everything was so fresh and tasty! Desserts were the Red Wine Poached Pear and Creme Brulee; a nice finish. We love how the menu changes to whatever is fresh and in season; will definitely go back!

07/05/2026: Seafood empanadas, beer battered fish and chips, as well as sticky toffee pudding were the highlights of my trip to Cork -- at least so far!

05/05/2026: You better come in hungry, otherwise portions will grab you by the neck and throw on the floor, then proceed to mock the food you had earlier that day. Can recommend, will be back, no matter what rebrands lie ahead.

04/05/2026: The venue was gorgeous and had an easy to navigate website. The rooms were clean and had everything we needed, eg kettle/tea, iron, hairdryer. The beds were too soft for 2 of my colleagues, so they didn’t sleep well at all, but I was fine. The staff were incredibly rude at check in and check out. Considering how much we paid for the room, I expected better customer service. We didn’t even get a smile at check in. The girl was rude, didn’t speak to me while processing my payment (not asking me to choose GBP or EU using her words, she just shoved the card reader in my face, even though I asked for clarification). Upon making the reservation, I notified the hotel that we would have a very late check in and even gave them an estimated time of arrival. The hotel called me the day before I left to confirm my reservation, so I clarified my late check in and assured them I’d be there before “late check in” started. As promised, I was well within my time frame, but received another phone call from the front desk during travel asking where I was and if I was going to be any longer. I was so confused, taken aback and really insulted. When we arrived, she didn’t apologies for her eagerness (which I can only assume was because she just wanted to go home, greet us warmly or even make me feel like we were welcome at all.

29/04/2026: This was a fantastic experience! Of all the choices for a night in Cork, I am so glad we chose Plunketts. The 2-man band was fabulous and the craic was just what we were looking for. Make your reservations and GO!

28/04/2026: I ordered a round of four of Redbreast 12. The Bartender did not ask if I wanted it neat (I did) and he brought it to me with ice. When I told him I wanted it neat, he re-poured the drinks. I sat down to enjoy the drinks and watched the bartenders strain the ice from the glasses and pour the whiskey back in the bottle. It had been in the glasses for at least five minutes and certainly was diluted. Inexcusable.

09/12/2025: Went there to see a band. Great night had. Great pub, good service

29/10/2025: Good atmosphere! The resident cocktail maker was not present but the fella behind the bar did his best and produced some top quality cocktails for us. Staff are incredibly sound.

29/03/2026: Having grown up in an Irish household where everything is très très bien cuiller, I was a little hesitant when I saw this steak option on the menu was medium rare, but it was absolutely delicious. The entire dining experience was wonderful , great atmosphere, lovely helpful staff. We also were not rushed out the door, which was greatly appreciated, we were able to relax and have dessert and an extra drink at our leisure. We will be back soon.

22/02/2026: Very disappointed overall.Took my son for a special occasion.Very loud on arrival from people at bar counter asked to move but staff member said the group were leaving ( which they did ) .We ordered 2 starters both small ,tasty enough. .However it was the 2 main courses that were so disappointing I ordered the hake ,brocolini and mash and my son ordered the featherblade of beef ,both portions were small ,the broccoli was 2 pieces of tenderstem.My sons beef was small he was starving after it. .With one non alcoholic wine meal came to 92 euro ..I dont mind paying for something if Its filling and good value but we both left hungry .My son went home for a bowl of cereal.Overall very disappointing experience.Wish I had seen previous persons review ( Sarah ) bfore I booked.We had similar experiences.

08/04/2026: It's ashame this pub is closing tonight because it is one of the nicest pubs in Cork City the food i had was perfect Heineken zero beautiful. Ok the service wasn't the best tonight but i guess that was to be expected with staff loosing there jobs. The pub was busy they were short staff. I really hope someone buys this pub. It has serious potential. Anytime i walked past this place it was busy it just needs to new ownership and management train new staff the food is perfect.

14/04/2026: We came here for our friends Lady Gaga themed hen do for a bottomless brunch. What a great time we had - all staff were extremely efficient and friendly, especially Emily and Lauren! Our gals kept us topped up the whole time, were lovely all day and helped us have the best day! Thanks guys 🙏
