29/03/2024: What a place! Nothing could be improved - really lovely, inventive food with such goofs flavours. Huge range of wines which are well priced. Excellent staff - attentive but friendly and laid back. Loved it here so much.

28/03/2024: Excellent food, interesting and innovative combinations of ingredients and the service was so friendly and efficient. Major shout out for the chai lattes we had they were the best we've had in the past few years.

Had food in eating area of pub and food was good.. unfortunately I was in a group of 20 people plus and pub was playing very good music... unfortunately slightly loud for lunch time , and staff were ask to lower background music not by 1 person but by 10 people , and we all were totally ignored... in actual fact music level was highered...
So no tip left, and no return from our 20 strong entourage...

28/03/2024: Superb. Lovely atmosphere, very attentive service with humour/banter and fantastic food. I had earmarked the short rib but went for the host recommended pork chop with slow roast porchetta, buttermilk mash apple/maple chutney and red wine jus…excellent, this was preceded by the Piri Piri aubergines, and the deserts were impressive especially the Liquid Desert - Lemon Meringue Pie👍

The Service was welcoming and nice!
The food was perfekt !
We had the Moussels, the Monk Fish and the Burger. Evry thing was relay got to perfekt.
And i can realy recommend the liquid Dessert!
I had the Tiramisu Cocktail and it was the perfekt Finish vor a great evening!

02/04/2024: Didn't stay at this hotel hence no star for rooms but had lunch one day and drinks another day in the outside covered area. Staff were efficient and pleasant and lunch was good. The view to the water was nice but would have been better were it not for the parked cars beside the seating area. Kinsale is a busy town with parking at a premium so residents have to park somewhere

Update: came back for more oysters, have had 18 now and all absolutely fantastic. Great pub for rugby too on the bar side

03/04/2024: What can I say but sublime. Nestled in the heart of Kinsale, Bastion was one of the last places I had to tick off the Michelin list and by god did it deliver.
The wine list was excellent and the food and service sublime. Attentive but not overwhelming. The food, well sourced and wonderfully prepared truly an excellent display of localized contemporary food presented impeccably.
Wholeheartedly recommended to anyone nearby - or even further afield. This restaurant will not disappoint in truly displaying the wealth of culinary talent and produce access that Cork has available to it.
29/03/2024: We had the discovery tasting menu and wine paring. The evening was amazing with wonderful flavours and textures. Everything was perfect from the mini brioche with treacle butter to the pettifores. The cured langoustine and the rabbit loin were my favourites. We enjoyed everything including the staff with their friendly interaction and detailed description of the wines and foods. Thank you Hellen and Paul.

02/04/2024: We went for an evening brithday celebration meal with a group of 17. Fionnula the owner was fantastic to deal with in booking the meal and choosing the set menu for the group.
The staff were very friendly, informative and the service was very good. The food was delicious. We had a variety of starters, mains and deserts and all of us left extremely happy. Very relaxed atmosphere and would be happy to recommend the restaurant to anyone. Looking forward to going back.

02/04/2024: We stayed in this hotel for one night and I have to say that it is quite old and old fashioned. Nevertheless, the staff was very friendly, which made our stay pleasant. The rooms were spacious but seemed a bit dated, as did the bathroom area.
In terms of value for money, I wasn't entirely satisfied. I think for the price we paid we could have expected slightly more modern accommodation. Overall the room wasn't as wonderful as I had hoped.

The White Lady

20/03/2024: I recommend staying in this hotel to anyone looking to visit kinsale (and everyone should visit kinsale). Anthony and the rest of the staff at the White Lady were all so warm, welcoming, helpful and truly kind that it made the trip of a lifetime even more memorable. The rooms were very nice, and the food and the pub were both incredible. The only regret we had was not staying for longer.
