The best restaurantsof irish in Kilkenny

06/09/2025: Vegetarian & Normal Friendly. Soup was excellent. Burger, yes the burger, was outstanding. Carbonara & Risotto very very good. My wife, who is a pizza-lover and profoundly particular, said that this is one of the best pizzas that she has ever had. Pizza was the perfect balance of thin crust & artisanal with the ‘correct’ amount of cheese & savory sauce. Overall, strongly suggest this place for a celebration with the vegetarian in your life.

28/08/2025: Food was phenomenal, feather blade in particular. Coffee at the end of the night was scorching hot which was the only mark against the venue

30/08/2025: We stopped in for a late lunch and we’re seated right away. The salad with goat cheese, and the sandwich and soup really really good.

22/08/2025: Three of us went there for dinner. One burger, one Caesar salad, and one Margherita pizza. All three dishes arrived after exactly three minutes. The pizza crust wasn't cooked through. The burger was dry, and the bun was dusty. The chicken in the salad was dry and old (or so it looked). A real shame.

21/08/2025: This pub is truly what you'd imagine an Irish pub to be. We had quite a few drinks here, and the changing live music was amazing. The atmosphere was fantastic. A definite recommendation in Kilkenny. The pub was voted the best pub with live music in Ireland in 2017.

19/06/2025: Exceptional bar, you go to the corner and smoke, you feel like you're smoking a cigarette in your aunt's garden. The pool table is free, just don't mention it to the waitress.

15/06/2025: Small independent cafe that served more traditional Irish food, in particular the breakfasts. I would highly recommend the breakfast boxty - it was delicious! It appeared noticeably loved by locals and I always think this is a good sign!

09/09/2025: First pint of Guinness in Ireland, here at The Field Bar & Restaurant, did not dissappoint. Live music to boot as well. The bar staff was friendly, and locals were easy to talk to as well.

08/09/2025: This place was Fantastic. Had live music and a great crowd. When I came from the USA, this is the place we were looking for. A laid back pub with live music, happy crowd, great atmosphere and a wide selection of beer.

26/07/2025: Mientras estábamos en Irlanda visitando a la familia en Carlow, nos aventuramos y encontramos esta pequeña joya. Absolutamente impresionante fayre irlandés tradicional. Porciones muy generosas. Personal muy agradable. Excelente relación calidad-precio. Recomiendo encarecidamente el tocino asado en salsa de perejil. ¡Nos vemos de nuevo!

24/08/2025: A great pub, restaurant, guest House. Super friendly, great value food, indoor areas, outdoor dining, an off-licence, meeting rooms. It meets do many needs and occasions. Community friendly and hugely supportive of local organisations including holding events. Highly recommend.

19/07/2025: We stayed just one night at this B&B. The room was okay. Tea and coffee with a kettle are always a plus... The staff were very helpful and friendly. We had dinner here in the evening for convenience: we ate well (smoked salmon bread and a good sirloin accompanied by potatoes and other vegetables), and the beer was excellent, but in Ireland you can usually be sure of this at a more than reasonable price. The property is located right on the main road to Kilkenny, so it's easy to find. Parking was available in front of the building, which is great when you're on a road trip like us. We were four friends (two couples). Overall, more than good. One last thing...the breakfast: okay (we had booked a room with breakfast), both continental and Irish (several options). The place is about twenty minutes from Kilkenny, so if you want and the weather permits, you can take a walk to the town center, which is very charming and inviting, with a castle and adjoining park... Both are best visited only until late afternoon.

19/10/2024: D'un point de vue français la façade ferait presque fuir (comme souvent en Irlande) mais il faut pousser la porte, c'est juste parfait à tous points de vue, ambiance, cuisine, rien à redire. J'ai fait beaucoup de pubs / restaurants en Irlande, celui-ci fait partie de mes préférés.
