The best restaurantsof irish in Kilkenny

01/12/2024: Probably one of the BEST meals I had in Ireland!!! The club panini was to die for! The service was stellar and the place was cozy! Would absolutely return!

24/11/2024: Food is always good here. Can get quite busy so not always free tables. All day breakfast is popular but everything is good. Lots of vegetarian GF options

09/12/2024: Staff and management are incompetent and rude. Extortionate prices for food and drink. A dirty, drab, and smelly place in general. The establishment is well advertised online. But it is all really just a giant "smokescreen" to cover up how subpar it is in reality. Avoid!

01/12/2024: 6 of us in for lunch and all ordered together , all dishes came at once other than my pizza, everyone was finished their food by the time my pizza arrived, not only this but the food was below par for the price, I guess it is pub food but I’d expect better, the pizza had some tacky cheese on it that was like rubber, it reminded me of a bad frozen pizza , others had linguine that was just store bought and served out, nothing fresh at all, an average of €25 each for food and then some drinks on top, the plan was to stay and watch the rugby but we just decided to leave after that.

10/11/2024: A historical bar that loves sport. Alot of photos frames on wall and ceiling. A great pint of guiness also. Mad for Hurling.

09/11/2024: Your bouncers are on a power trip x Reason for no entry was "we are full" when an woman vacating had told the bouncer "two of us have left, there is space for 2 now, let this man and his friend in". Your bouncer still refused entry and would not provide any valid reason. I wouldn't mind if I was drunk, he was just wanting to ruin our stag night. Travelled half way across the country to spend money in local bars, for a man with a power trip to ruin it. Vet your bouncers, or at least give valid reason for no entry.

19/10/2024: D'un point de vue français la façade ferait presque fuir (comme souvent en Irlande) mais il faut pousser la porte, c'est juste parfait à tous points de vue, ambiance, cuisine, rien à redire. J'ai fait beaucoup de pubs / restaurants en Irlande, celui-ci fait partie de mes préférés.

13/11/2024: This is a w place to eat or have a drink the staff are super super friendly and very helpful and the food is beautiful and ample you won't leave here hungry And it it the most per place to hold a wedding reception I had one here and the staff could not do enough to assist us one and all and there was no charge for the use of one of their function rooms they have 3 or 4 of them I would gladly recommend them for and function be ir wedding or birthday fantastic people work here

14/12/2024: Dropped in for a drink and was treated very well. Friendly bar staff and pleasant atmosphere. Spotless clean toilets.

08/12/2024: Atmosphere is incredible, especially at christmas,staff are friendly and nice. Food came fairly quick and was lovely would most defintiley reccomed. Manager is lovely fella. Place is very clean aswell.

21/11/2024: Went for lunch was shown seats but got no menu asked twice staff passing then third time we asked eventually got it.. Just got toasted panini was tasty. When finished asked staff passing for bill agin waited 10min he never gave to us asked another girl same thing..and again just went to bar was asked what table number but was no number on the table had to point out on floor plan.. very unorganised. Astomphere was comfortable .

18/11/2024: I always have breakfast here rather than in the hotels in Westport. The breakfast boxty is excellent as is their porridge with banana blueberry and cinnamon. The staff are also excellent and very helpful and friendly.

25/10/2024: Great spot pop in if you’re in Westport. Staff are lovely with great recommendations if you’re travelling further south on the wild Atlantic. 5 stars 👍

03/11/2024: I organised for a group to go here on the 25th of October. From the initial phone call to reserve the table to the time we left it was amazing. Staff were extremely friendly food was to die for and everything was very efficient. Will definitely return

05/12/2024: Brought my autistic son to watch the match last night andwe decided to have some dinner aswell .Dylan tom and Rob were amazing and never judged warren and the service we got was unreal so good I'll be defo going back again . Thanks for making him feel so happy he was super pleased on the way home talking about the place he loved it

18/11/2024: Had a hotel booked with my girlfriend in Kilkenny for Saturday night. Went for a nice meal and went to Left Bank for a while. We weren’t quite enjoying it there so decided to come here for a better time. Terrible idea. Myself and my girlfriend were standing outside deciding whether to go in or not and then decided we would. The man working there off the bat told me my girlfriend was “loaded” and wouldn’t let us in. I questioned him on this as neither of us had even drank much at this point. He then proceeded to tell me I was “loaded” before walking back inside. He couldn’t look either of us in the eye when talking, extremely cowardly. The other bouncer was extremely apologetic when this rude man walked back in as she could very much see we were fine and just looking to have a nice time. This rude man very clearly has a power trip about him and I would highly not recommend heading here if you want to have a nice time. Myself and my girlfriend couldn’t have been that loaded if we both can very clearly remember the entire interaction and every rude comment that disgusting man made.

10/11/2024: Stopped in for a drink lovely atmosphere friendly staff stayed on for bit longer than we intended....

20/10/2024: My husband had the cottage pie and I had the Guinness stew. Both were quite tasty and left us very full. The staff were friendly.

24/09/2024: Fabulous location. Delightful atmosphere in the restaurant with exceptional food.

10/09/2024: Amazing. We just stayed for a night, but I could have stayed for a week just to enjoy the lovely place. Very nice view to the river, delicious and big breakfast, the room was spacious and comfortable. Everything was pristine. I recommend this place if you want to enjoy a lovely little village in the East of Ireland. Very close to Killkeny as well. Difficult roads though, but enjoyable.

28/11/2024: I was here the first time, tried just one dish - Caesar salad, but it was surprisingly proper and delicious.😋 Very nice cozy place with a terrace, unfortunately closed for now until it gets warmer 😊
