31/12/2025: Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful during my stay here. My room was absolutely spotless clean and overall lovely. It is a great location, 20 minute walk from the city, and close to everything else. Overall great experience, would definitely recommend to anyone and would stay again :)

30/12/2025: Fantastic food . 5 mins drive from kilkenny city centre ( well worth the drive ). Great service 👏. Could I just recommend ( to the chef ) adding a roast potato to the roast dishes? Please don't change the stir-fry, it's 💯 % amazing. At least 3 separate dining/drinking areas +outside personal boots. I'll be leaving my hotel again next time to eat here . Also background music was fab 👌 .

06/01/2026: A beautiful pub in Kilkenny, both inside and out – right by the Nore Bridge with views of the old town and castle – large yet cozy, as everything is spread across several rooms. The food was surprisingly good – far more than your typical pub fare, but truly hearty, home-style cooking prepared with love. I had the Clonakilty Chicken, for example (chicken roulade filled with black pudding and wrapped in bacon, served with well-seasoned mashed potatoes, fresh, delicious braised vegetables, and mustard sauce). The pub is justifiably proud of sourcing its produce locally. Of course, they also have good beer and a really nice selection of whiskeys, which, as a Scotch fan, introduced me to the Irish variety. When we were there, a duo was playing and singing Irish folk music (every evening from Sunday to Thursday), and they were really good – each of them played several instruments, so it was truly entertaining. A highlight of our trip.

15/12/2025: This place is awful. The food is terrible, service is worse and it's expensive. We ordered the burger and vol au vent and they were horrible. The salads are bland and disgusting. The server was rude, clueles and didn't even know what lager beer was, so we drank water. Please avoid this place. It was just horrible. I made sure to tell our tour guide never to recommend this place again. In fact, don't bother going to Kilkenny at all. It's not worth it.

28/12/2025: Amazing flavours from fairly simple food. We found here by chance one day after leaving the Newpark in Kilkenny, there was nothing suitable for my vegetarian wife on the newpark lunch menu. We have been back now 4 times despite living a couple of hours away. It's a real find. I love their vegetarian bruschetta (despite being a meat eater) the amount of flavour they get out of just goats cheese and pesto is amazing. I had their fish and chips on another visit, similarly top notch. My wife has had their vegan bruschetta (falafel and hummus) and mushrooms in cream sauce at another visit. They cater for our kids too. Myself and my wife both adore the lemon curd Eton mess.

29/12/2025: One of the best pubs in Kilkenny, without a doubt. I’m visiting the city and wanted to experience the best pubs around, and this place truly stands out. The atmosphere is great, but what really makes it special is the service. I was genuinely amazed by how smoothly and professionally everything is handled at the bar. A special shout-out to Adam, he is absolutely fantastic at what he doe, he truly elevates the entire experience. People like him are what make a place world-class. Cheers to Adam and the wonderful way he serves customers. Kudos to him! Attaching some of his skills. Love to visit this place again, just because of the service.

07/10/2025: A lovely cafe on the banks of the Barrow. We sat out and had coffee and scones, watching the world go by on the river. Nicest scones we’ve had for a long time. Friendly staff too.

31/12/2025: Nice hotel Great location Lovely food The only real let down is the shower curtain. The thing was like a jellyfish, it kept coming in on me & clinging to me. Shower screen would be 💯 % better.

26/12/2025: Fairly spacious rooms. Not too fancy, clean and comfortable, with a pub and restaurant. A great atmosphere guaranteed! Pleasant and generous breakfast. Free parking.

11/11/2025: Only there for evening meals and drinks. Some nice cozy corners. Very friendly and engaging staff - very welcoming. Kind of slow mid-week so it felt spacious and quiet.
