The best restaurantsof irish in Waterford

05/06/2025: We got got to experience what a true Irish pub is like. Melisa and Martha’s hospitality alone is worth our return. The environment was perfect (and clean). The best bonus is THE FOOD!!! The best food we ate in all of Ireland! I wanted to finish my plate so I could get a cheer from Melisa, but the space I needed for the Banoffee Pie was more important!! Waterford will always be on our itinerary solely because of The Grattan Bar!

05/06/2025: First of all, the hosts are just simply brilliant , second, food that they make is delicious . I had a prawns salad, and it was just great. Very friendly atmosphere , would recommend it 100%

02/06/2025: Managed to avoid the lunchtime rush by pure luck, and stumbled across a gem! We were in and out within 45 minutes for lunch, sharing a falafel dish and a bbq cauliflower dish. Both were excellent, delicious vegetarian meals and good portion sizes, and didn’t break the bank either. Served us super quickly, and we went up and paid at the bar at the end too. Would recommend!

28/05/2025: I visited here during a midweek trip to the Viking city and stumbled across Momo Restaurant. The lady at reception kindly offered me a table which I was not expecting as the restaurant was very busy. The menu is varied and there's something for everyone and ultimately I ordered the pan fried hake with mussels, green veg (broccoli and asparagus) served with a side dish of roast potato. The hake was cooked to perfection and there was a generous portion size of 2 fillets. The veg and accompanying sauce were also delicious. The potatoes deserve a place on the menu by themselves. The best roast potatoes I've ever eaten. Deliciously flavoured, crispy edges and floury inside. I ate an entire bowl of them and would honestly bo back for them alone. Occasionally I come across places like Momo who have such a love for food that it shows on every dish. Couldn't be better.

21/06/2025: Ordered the guinness and beef hot pot. The portion was generous and so delicious. Ordered a gingerman draft lager to pair with it, and was even better! Totally recommend paying a visit.

08/06/2025: Good service, great food and vibe... Meals range between €10-€20. The Gingerman Steak Sandwich was just on €17 and was massive!

30/05/2025: Great little cafe. Good service and even better food. Soup and bread was traditional and outstanding! Soup perfect and brown bread warm and perfect. Able to eat outside!! Staff warm and welcoming. Lovely town too! Great town to enjoy a wonderful day!

19/05/2025: This is my favourite restaurant in town. I come here regularly and every time I leave happy. Whenever I have visitors from overseas, I make sure to book a dinner here. And I never had a bad experience. Food, service, atmosphere is impeccable and consistent, which is very rare to find in a restaurant nowadays.

03/05/2025: Short version: Drinks: 4.5/5, Guiness was cold double pour and really good. Serving: 0.5/5, not sure it was food. Long version: Drinks: no notes, very good. Serving: the cold "shoestring potatoes" as they were called on the menu and not fries or chips, are probably called this to avoid any regulatory nomenclature or legislative definition. I do believe that in a previous life they actually were potatoes before what ever unholy event happened to them occurred. The chicken skewers were probably not cooked at the same time or even on the same week, I've microwaved chinese food the day after that came out better than this. The most burnt skewer was the only one close to edible. The salad was a few raw leaves and 3 pickles or possibly cucumber slices picked up from the floor after a day or two, very hard to tell the difference. At least the ketchup was well matured in the half filled paper cups sitting on the warm kitchen counter since possibly last night or week. Idk who hurt these people or possibly who I offended by ordering 1 pint and asking for a menu, but this can probably not legally be called food which is why I, much like the shoestring potatoes, for potential legal concerns choose to call it a serving and not food. In 2023 the food was lovely here, what happened?

29/04/2025: We stopped by for a quick drink. The atmosphere was great, we were warmly welcomed and got a delicious Irish beer recommendation. We also had a lovely conversation with the waiter. Everything was excellent.

06/06/2025: The best of the hotels in Waterford city. Charming hotel with rooms filled with character. Great location only minutes walk around the corner from shops, cafes and restaurants. There's a carpark across the road which is easy to access and the hotel offer preferential overnight rates while staying there. The food is also very good. They've a loyal clientele of returning customers for their carvery which is always a good sign. I had the fish pie from the evening menu and it was excellent. Staff are always super friendly also.

07/05/2025: This historic hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of all the pubs and shopping in Waterford. It is family operated and the service is impeccable! After checking out, I realized I left my Waterford crystal glasses in my room ($$). Fiona, from the front desk personally walked them to the Waterford show room and I was able to ship them home. Amazing service and honesty from this historic hotel. While the rooms are quaint, the hotel bar, food service, and beautifully decorated lobby made me greatly appreciate this fine hotel.

06/06/2025: I love this restaurant bar in waterford very posh bar and the food was great staff were friendly and very helpful I had one of the best starters I've ever had great fish and chips bottle of wine was lovely I will return here for a meal when visiting waterford city I love waterford and I love this restaurant bar its the best in waterford for food and drink

17/05/2025: This was the worst meal my parents have ever had. All the food was uncooked and old/raw. They couldn't believe how terrible the food was. They could only eat 1/4 of the meal. Terrible! The service was nonexistent.

17/05/2025: Pleasant welcome, friendly atmosphere, and superb breakfast, top-notch cuisine. You can sleep peacefully. The only downside is that there's no shower. Clean toilet. We had a great time.

23/05/2025: This was the nicest food I have tasted in so long. I got the prawn ciabatta! It was soooooo good. Staff were so friendly and it was amazing value. A little gem ❤️
