23/08/2025: At the Grattan Bar we had a very nice surprise: the owners decided to serve a special Brazilian feijoada. The dish was offered in two options: • small portion for €14, still very generous; • large portion for €18, perfect for bigger appetites. I tried the small one and it was more than enough — tasty, filling, and made with good quality ingredients. The price was fair and honest, really worth it. The owners are very friendly, always smiling and welcoming. They had this great idea to bring a bit of Brazil to Waterford, and they also mentioned that they plan to prepare other Brazilian dishes in the future. The only thing I would suggest is adding some Brazilian music, to make the atmosphere even more authentic. Overall, it was a great experience that I truly recommend, especially for Brazilians living nearby who want to enjoy the taste of home. 🇧🇷

21/08/2025: My wife and I stopped in for dinner and drinks and had an excellent time. The drinks were delicious and reasonably priced. We shared the beef roast which was exceptional. We had dinner at a 5 star restaurant in Dublin the evening prior and the beef roast we had here was the highlight of our trip. The staff were very friendly and the place was very clean.

23/08/2025: The restaurant is contemporary and spacious, perfect for a catch up with a friend. We had a lovely chilled glass of rose each and shared a starter of the cauliflower buffalo wings, which was generous if a bit bland. I ordered the fresh pasta dish made with homemade pasta from the seagull bakery. Our waitress said the vegetarian version came with seitan, but it arrived without - it was a stodgy dish of mushy vegetables in a tomato sauce with too much onion. My friend ordered the chicken version of the dish and said the same. We didn't clear our plates. In contrast to the chic restaurant, the bathroom was dated and would benefit from a deep clean. I would come back but would avoid the pasta dishes.

15/08/2025: We ate only the main course and the food was okay but not plentiful given the prices. Staff were professional and service was adequate. We would not return as other restaurants in the area were much better value.

08/08/2025: Lively pub, not real big. Wait staff friendly, the seafood chowder was excellent, hot and flavorful.

07/08/2025: Went in today for lunch.plenty specials on offer but we went for the Fish Pie and Lasagne.What can I say only our food was top notch.The Fish Pie was so generous in size and quality of fish within that I struggled.The Lasagne was equally a winner.Staff each and everyone of them were chatty helpful and lovely.Place is spotless .Won't be passing The Cove anytime we are in town .10/10 Honest Review.Keep the standard up Lads.on a winner.

09/08/2025: Lovely staff very accommodating and quick. My steak sandwich was delicious and delivered so swiftly I was unsure of its quality before tasting however my worries were put to rest from Bite 1!!! My wife’s duck was also nice and arrived with my sandwich so we could eat together. I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Waterford.

31/07/2025: Absolutely appalled from our experience. On the 31/7/25 I am a health care professional working for people with intellectual disabilities and we came all the way from cork to go for dinner here on our road trip. One of the people I support uses a wheelchair. No ramps in bar was the first thing I noticed. The person I support asked me to support her attend the ladies toilet. The ladies toilet is not accessible at all for a person in a wheelchair which is a disgrace. Me and the person I support were quite stressed wondering what we could do as she needed the toilet. Two lovely ladies who were customers saw the stress we were under and asked did we need help that the male toilet had more space for a wheelchair that they would stand outside the male toilet while we use it. The lady who uses a wheelchair was so embarrassed she had to use the males toilet which also smelled so strong of urine and was NOT clean. She felt this experience was totally demoralizing and said she didn't want to eat in a place where she could not use a toilet a basic need!!. It's so sad to see this in this day and age. Thank god for the two lovely ladies who were customers helping us. Staff were NOT helpful and the manager just said ya it's been an issue for people with disabilities for years. Well then the place should be shut down because it doesn't cater for people at all with disabilities. I don't even know why they have one disabled parking space when inside is a disgrace. I have working 10 years supporting people with disabilities and have never come across such an awful restaurant/bar experience.

An absolute treat, food was spectacular, lovely staff that go above and beyond to make sure your meal is perfect. We love this place and it's consistently excellent! Well worth a visit! Booking is essential 👌

02/08/2025: Kudos to the chef! The scallops were divine…all our entrees extraordinary. But we were seated in the lower level (and no other guests were there) and after delivery of the starter course- forgotten. Like no water, no cocktail query, no additional bread (we did ask at the food server when the first course came but it never arrived). More parties finally came downstairs too, but again, aside from receiving our main entree, we were not checked on even though we all looked for someone to notice us. This is an easy thing to remedy and I hope that Everett’s continues to prepare their magical meals.

16/08/2025: I was so impressed with the food, prices and service at this spot during our recent visit. We managed to feed 2 adult and 2 kids for just over €20 earlier and not one complaint in the house. While not extensive, the menu contains enough choice to cater for all tastes and price points. The kids enjoyed the chicken goujons and some chips while I opted for the chicken sandwich which was excellent. The restaurant is located on the wuayside almost hidden between the Anchor & the Blue Door. There is a small number of seats inside and some benches outside. Its a casual dining experience so no table service but defo the best chips ive had in a while.

12/08/2025: If you love great food & wine, you won’t be disappointed. The food is consistently great, great flavors. We have tried every dish at the point, it’s so hard to decide as they are all so good. The fish specials are always delicious. The front of house team are always friendly & helpful. A truly lovely dining experience. Already looking forward to our next visit . Keep up the great work 🙌

29/07/2025: I was very disappointed with the dinner I had in the Granville. Service was extremely slow, had to wait 15 minutes to order while staff stood around and bar was quiet. The staff member who took our order was extremely rude, we weren't told the specials and when I found asked a question, the staff member replied "sure I wouldn't know". My curry was definitely re-heated as there was a skin over it when it came out and the rice was uneatable. It was stuck together and felt it it had been re-heated. Took another 12 minutes to order dessert which was a big let down.

28/07/2025: Great service by Bonnie + Macy. We had delicious fish and chips. Accomodating and friendly. Attentive service, we didn't have to wait long

04/08/2025: Security in the pub are incompetent, was there with my partner recently, some drunk fella took our seat and refused to go despite us politely asking him, bouncer (young tall dude with the beard) did little effort to move him away and then shook his hand and started being rude to us told us to go away. Would never recommend this place

27/07/2025: A great atmosphere on a Friday evening. Had the Cajun chicken burger and shoestring potatoes. Both were amazing

23/07/2025: We skipped the tour and went straight to 1837 for lunch. As vegetarian’s we didn’t have high hopes but were pleasantly surprised by the taste and freshness of the food. Plus the Guinness was perfect as expected.

22/07/2025: After visiting the Guiness Storehoue, we decided that we want to eat a chocolate mousse and maybe something else as well. They informed us that the restaurant is closing in 45 minutes, so we should take this into consideration before ordering.. We ordered a cheese platter and a chocolate mousse. The platter came fairly quickly, the cheese were good, the cracker was not much for this amount of cheese.. Then we waited 20-25 minutes till somebody came to clean the table and ask us if we wanted anything else. As the chocolate mousse still did not arrive, we just kindly told them that we are still waiting for the mousse. In about 7 minutes they brought us the mousse, which was probably quickly put together, and there were huge chunks of chocolate inside. You cannot call this a mousse.. The view was very nice from the table so we could enjoy that part.
