The best restaurants in Carrick-on-shannon

17/04/2025: We went to the Oarsman for a family dinner and I cannot recommend it more! The food was incredible, the staff were so helpful, kind and welcoming and as a result we came back again during this short trip for a second time! Thank you for a wonderful night

10/04/2025: This pub shud be on everyone's list as the place to eat. The decor and ambience is teriffic, but the exceptional service from Jidish was 5 star and made the visit. The food was second to none and I wish we lived close enough to eat here all the time. Without doubt the best meal I've had in a long long time.

08/04/2025: We ate here for a stag do. The food was incredible and the service even better. Mary, in particular, was fantastic and happily went through the menu, double checked our order and never let us run out of water. She later gave us recommendations on where to head next and for the rest of the night. Would highly recommend this place to anyone and will definitely be back next time I find myself in town.

15/04/2025: We went there with a visitor on a sunny Monday, just found it by chance! Generous portions of really nice food, very friendly service, free cold water and a clean toilet. Lovely spot, cosy inside, spacious outside, in the centre of town, 2 mins down to the harbour, I really enjoyed it!

18/04/2025: I don’t get all the fuss. A pretty poor spot I’m GF and they basically do below an acceptable minimum to accommodate The rest of the menu doesn’t know whether it’s lunch , dinner or a poor takeaway It’s a bit chaotic and there are much better alternatives

21/04/2025: My absolute favourite restaurant in Carrick-on-Shannon. Beautiful venue, friendly, helpful staff. Everyone there is always so accommodating, kid friendly. The food is outstanding, especially the braised beef. The cocktails are delicious. 5 stars are more than deserved.

04/04/2025: I had a wonderful dining experience at The Red Bank with my family. Our waiter Nicola was exceptionally friendly and attentive, making us feel welcomed throughout our meal. The food was absolutely delicious, showcasing fabulous and diverse flavors that delighted our taste buds. I would definitely dine there again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great meal!

13/04/2025: Normally a great experience when getting food from this place,,but up to 3 managers standing around given out to one of the waiting staff members,,,for a wrong order that he had messed-up,,,not great leadership,,but I'm sure he felt good about abusing the poor girl in front of the paying people,,,not a good look!!!some one might want to get retrained in how to speak to staff&customers!!!! I won't be going back to ,,sorry to say,,great Chips !!

23/03/2025: Great craic. Shane Downey was playing when we were there on a busy Saturday night. An exceptional musician, genuinely thought it was a record before we saw him because his vocal was so perfect. His playlist was great. Really lively favourites verging more to the country/pop side of things. DJ on after him was great, so many great tunes you couldn't not dance to. Lots of 90s 00s with a bitta ABBA thrown in. Brilliant atmosphere full of hens and stags but it wasn't messy. Wine selection was poor. Two of the bars did smell like wee. Toilets got pretty messy. Fancy hand dryers didn't work. Music too loud in the indoor part - beer garden was great. If those things wouldn't bother you too much you'll have a great night! genuinely.
