The best restaurants in Carrick-on-shannon

18/10/2025: Great food, wonderful, friendly and attentive staff, a cozy, beautiful interior, and the dessert was absolutely delightful. I will definitely come back again!

01/10/2025: Arguably the best restaurant in Carrick-on-Shannon. We made a reservation however there was space for walk ins. The food and service is outstanding, well presented main courses and a selection of freshly made desserts.

11/11/2025: These people have no shame. Microwaveble meals are of better quality than what I've been served here. Food arived less than 5 minutes after ordering, I'll let you figure out why that might be... The bread was at least 3 days old, the sauce was runnier than water, pasta was of the worst quality imaginable, the rest of ingridients were of the shelf prediced quality. Not once I was asked how did I like my food, again, no shame. Please do yourself a favour and don't come near this place, especially for pasta dishes. Edit: Get a negative feedback, don't acknowledge most issues mentioned, lie about your service, and call the entire review fake. As I said, no shame.

11/11/2025: I went here for a nice birthday meal with my partner. We both enjoyed our food and the cocktail was really nice. I was a little disappointed that they had something still on the menu that they no longer serve, but I didn't mind too much as I just got the serving platter for 2 and shared with my partner. The sharing platter and share if you dare dessert selection is a really cute idea for couples especially. Will definitely be coming back for a cocktail night and a bite to eat.

03/11/2025: Easily one of the best restaurants i’ve been at. Shared so many dishes, from starters to desserts and everything was 10/10. The chicken wings, signature burger and short ribs were just amazing. The cherry on top then was the baileys cheesecake. Couldn’t recommend this place more!

11/11/2025: I went here for my graduation dinner. I ordered the seafood linguine which was a little oily for my liking, however the flavour was nice. There was a slice of toasted baguette on the side which didn't add anything to the dish, it was bland and overly crunchy. However the dessert was lovely and the cocktails were nice (although a little strong). We also got a lovely complimentary taster of the soup of the day while waiting for our food.

02/11/2025: Had my fourth visit to the RedBank last night and again it did not disappoint. If in the area it is a must. This venue is a real bonus to Carrick and I hope moving forward the food stays consistently great.

19/10/2025: The food wasn't our cup of tea. We chose the restaurant because it looked very nice inside and out. The service was really good and attentive. Unfortunately, the stir-fry and the carbonara weren't good. But we would give the restaurant another chance and try a pizza.

29/11/2025: This place has a lovely homely feel. Warm and friendly atmosphere. They had 2 guys playing some great songs. The place is brilliant.

31/10/2025: This is one of the best places in the area. The owners are very friendly and accommodating. The food is sensational and highly recommended. The owner, Bashkim, also paints beautiful pictures that can be admired there.

01/11/2025: Very nice cafe, but crazy expensive for what I got. €4.50 for sausage roll with some crinkle cut crisps. At best very ordinary. Pot of tea was good. Has me questioning if I am back in the boom times. Money for nothing and your crisps for free!!

20/08/2025: We popped in randomly for dinner last night and oh my god!!! The food was incredible, and for the price it's amazing value, the staff were so friendly and attentive.

31/10/2025: Reception desk staff were very helpful and informative, seeing as I was an evening arrival 8pm or later, I met with possibly a night porter, but the young Irish gentleman was efficient at checking me into my room in what seemed like under 1 minute, possibly one of the fastest check-ins I've experienced. The late night porters had their hands full when we all arrived back after all bars and clubs had closed..and were still very friendly even thought there were groups of drunk non-residents arguing at the doors trying to gain entry to the hotel. Thought of giving a 4 star review, because I rang reception desk a few hours previous to my check out time, on a quite Sunday morning, badly in need of a later checkout time, but was told was not possible due to housekeeping schedules, and the breakfast was basic enough, luke warm everything, arrived within 20 seconds of ordering from a bain Marie, one piece of everything, but to be fair.. I couldn't taste it anyway, the shots and varied drinks the night before had scared my taste buds into hiding. Treat the staff here respectfully and they'll go the extra mile for you, and they work hard at weekends because it's a party town, so don't make their more difficult than it needs to be. Would return here no questions asked
