26/12/2024: Great food friendly staff and very reasonable prices

14/12/2024: Took my mum for late lunch today and we went for the crispy plaice ... and were both astonished how tasty it was! Plaice was a fish we would often do during summer holidays on the seaside when I was a kid and it still hold very special place in our memories. And today brough it all back and was just perfect time on a grey day :) not to mention the staff that just brightens the room and is always more than happy to help 😊

03/01/2025: Absolutely delicious food and great atmosphere in the bar at scholars. We enjoyed a very tasty vegan risotto and steak cooked to perfection. Cocktails are also exquisite and the staff are the best you’ll find, every member of staff was friendly, helpful and engaging and that along with the great food makes it a fantastic dining experience.

13/12/2024: Just returned from GH after a 2-night birthday celebration & it was just perfect from start to finish. The house itself, the staff, service, rooms..everything was just wonderful. But the food needs a special mention, every morsel was delicious. We were lucky to be there for the Christmas Candlelight dinner (tasting menu) with carols & songs from the musicals by soprano Sarah McCourt. Thank you Paul & team for a memorable stay. 09/01/2025: Personally I am not a fishy person but my wife is. She declared her oysters as delicious while my special house burger was well above average, we both had the soup to start and it was soup like my mother used to make.. The staff were under pressure but still managed to stay friendly and helpful.

05/01/2025: Great spot , highly recommend the fish taco's ,fresh fluffy gougons and prawns covered in salsa and taco sauce ... declious , the oysters were great too. Was able to eat and then enjoy a good few pints without being bothered about freeing the table up.

30/12/2024: On arrival we were greeted by two friendly girls, we’d no booking but quite quickly found us a table in there restaurant over by the window, the Christmas trees and music made the ambience welcoming and homely. When seated we were told the joint of the day, and a drink order was taken. A few moments later, a friendly blonde waitress came over to take our order once again she was friendly and efficient. The food was delicious, the kids had garlic cheesy bread, followed by tenders & chips, and bolognaise wooo what a portion. I had the black pudding starter, and the surf & turf unbelievable, my partner had the goats cheese followed by Cajun chicken burger with garlic saute, the portions were were amazing, the taste was delicious. All in all it was so enjoyable from start to finish. It was our first time here but not our last. Thank you to all the lovely staff, and Happy New Year

11/01/2025: i absolutely LOVEDDDDDDDDDD the food my favourite restaurant ever!! the desert is so delicious and scrumptious and tasty and the food was absolutely stunning i love this place so much i wish i could eat here every day thank you so much for making this beautiful restaurant this creation is amazing i want to thank the chef and the staff is lovley i am OBSESSED 🥰♥️♥️♥️♥️

10/12/2024: Best coffee in Ardee, and the staff are a real credit to James and his lovely wife Monica. Check out his food - my favourite is the Yoghurt Bowl, boasting an in-house fruit compot, fruit and lashings of honey 🍯

02/12/2024: We had latte and sausage rolls, one with bacon and relish, the other one with leek and sage. Both gorgeous! Decent coffee, we got table no problem. One of staff was bit confused taking the order, maybe just new person hired, but really nice lad stepped in and took our order swiftly. Must go back to taste sausage roll with pear!

22/12/2024: Had lunch here today with the family. We'll definitely be returning I couldn't rate it highly enough, true authentic Italian food at it's best. Thank you all. Olive Corrigan.

28/09/2024: The food is exquisite, fresh and beautifully presented. Lovely restaurant in quaint historic setting always bustling with diners. Had a pre drink at their bar beforehand. Would recommend.

14/01/2025: Stopped off at Claremont for Sunday Lunch and I have to say it did not disappoint. Plenty of options on the menu and we opted for the roast beef dinner, which I have to say was one of the best roast dinners I have ever had, desserts were fab, will definately return

22/12/2024: Very good food. Ordered fish and chips lovely and fresh. Chips really nice. Partner ordered wings he did say was really worth it for the price of them. But he loved the Duck. Child got chicken tenders and chips same again nice and fresh. Nicely decorated and cosy staff very friendly

15/12/2024: Excellent place for proper hearty food with very good service. Bonus : if you visit at Christmas time, the decoration is lovely
