19/06/2025: Had seen pics of this place on various social media and it looked amazing so took the trip from Navan to experience a seafood lunch with a lovely view. The place was all locked up. The time we visited 12.20 Thursday 19.06.25 but had been hanging around from 12, and website says restaurant opens at 12 midday. Chatted to the lady across the road in the shop and she said the staff were in there alright. I remember this happening last year when I visited too, and the place shut, so my advice dont bother or put yourself out, as there are many other places that want your business. We went to the secret garden Carraigdale hotel for coffee , fabulous gardens, and ate in Strandfield cafe opposite Ballymascanlon hotel, amazing place for our main meal so all was not lost. Such a pity Glyde inn, as would have loved to have seen your lovely restaurant, but wont be returning again.

07/06/2025: We booked for lunch having heard that this pub was voted best in Leinster our expectations were high. Our starters were lovely We had oysters for 2 fishcake and caesar salad so far so good. Our mains took 45 mins to come out and every dish was disappointing Hake was not fresh and was overcooked, seafood pasta had very little fish and no prawns and worst dish of all was the fish and chips it was overcooked and 75% batter We waited for staff to clear table and ask how was your meal but nobody came near us after over 2 hours at the table for 2 courses we went looking for our bill, we paid it and will not be back . How they could be one of the best gastropubs in Ireland beats me.

06/03/2026: Great pub To Watch Sports Such as Racing Football And They Have A Trad Session on Thursdays. GOOD place If you Have A Birthday or Other Family occasion.

01/08/2025: Would not highly recommend this buyer went with friends for a night out with an experienced a bad role deal shady character is dealing in the parking if you know what I mean and bar staff included not very nice drinks tasted like it was gone off when complained about a pint of Guinness have a lots of salads he started to get a very aggressive so I just bought a new one and the new one was the same my friends talked about the beer afterwards and said the crisp and beer was totally out of date but not a very nice bar too much shady deals going on in the parking if you know what I mean and your mobile phone could go missing as it’s happened to a few people

And I have witnessed drugs being served from behind the counter from one of the staff everyone knows who it is, but they’re not tighten the finger but he knows who it is. such disgusting behaviour should not be allowed. first time drinking there and I will be the last would not recommend anyone.

19/07/2025: We arrived as a group of 5, two sober men as they both don’t drink ever and one man in crutches who wasn’t drinking. Greeted by bouncers” I don’t let groups of men in that I don’t know”. Without asking Anthing else we weren’t allowed in. He proceeded to allow a group of 6 men immediately afterwards in with no checks of ID, proceeded by a followings 2 groups. When asked he said “ this is just the rules” with no explanation. It didn’t happen to be that our NORTHERN accent didn’t quite suit his tone, happy to let anyone else in.
