The best restaurants in Ballina

14/11/2024: Recommended this place by a taxi driver & severely disappointed (in the food). Setting was nice & service was excellent (waiters were friendly & lovely). My starter was noticeably stale & my main was terrible.

07/11/2024: Without a doubt the best coffee house in Ballina. The staff is both cafes are always very pleasant, and recommend something new to try if there’s a new menu. We are loyal customers to here for years and will continue to be. Can’t wait for the Christmas menu already

25/11/2024: Had a wonderful meal here on Saturday To celebrate a reunion of friends that worked in the premises nearly 20 years ago . Staff wonderfully and friendly service very attentive, or waitress (name escapes me ) excellent at her job . Good to die for the nicest muscles Iv had in a long time .Steak sandwich portion was fantastic and so juicy.10/10 looking forward to my next vist thank you to Mary and all her amazing staff wishing you a busy Christmas session 💖

03/12/2024: Visited from Dublin ,journey took around 3 hours but didn’t even feel that long tbh. We chose the food lovers package and we were not disappointed. The rooms were well kept and super clean. The food at the restaurant was delicious. The swimming pool was great they had a nice jacuzzi aswell that you could enjoy. They have a good variety of spa treatments. The staff were nothing short of lovely , very catering. Highly recommend the clay sho oting , we enjoyed every second and you don’t need any experience! If you’re looking for a short getaway then this place is great.

19/11/2024: Got soaked in town. Just wanted hot cuppa on a way home. Tried this place. Staff was very welcoming. Cuppa was excellent!

19/10/2024: Went in for lunch with four friends two of the group were just having coffee and three of us eating, the two coffees and three teas came straight away but then had to wait almost an hour for our food,the tea was just a teabag in a cup no pot,when I asked if we could have a top up I was rudely told that we could have as much tea as we want but would have to pay for it,food was sub standard, just sandwiches on a plate no side salad or crisps,won't be going back

21/11/2024: Best and only place in Ballina you can find wholesome food freshly made to order and great value. None of that takeaway rubbish 😂. It is a family run business so it is very friendly place.

20/11/2024: We were here earlier in the year for a 60th birthday party. The room and food we had was brilliant as was the service we received throughout. The carbonara was lovely. This was on a Saturday night and the atmosphere was brilliant in the pub, it was packed which is always a good sign.

12/10/2024: Needs serious management overall. Went for a quiet pint. Guinness zero served in same glasses as regular Guinness. Drinks were mixed up and no effort to resolve the issue. What's really disappointing is to have to deal with customers vaping with no effort to stop it Let me know when there is an effort to run a decent safe bar and I'll be back

02/11/2024: Love the Post House and always make it my business to pop in when I'm in Ballina. The Post House salad is our favourite. The homemade soups are always delicious also. Wonderful staff too which makes the visit always 5☆ .

05/10/2024: Driving through Balina and stopped in this little gem! We had the chowder and it was delicious! We went back a couple days later with a big crowd and they were accommodating and the chowder on the second time round did not disappoint!!

17/09/2024: Great old pub established in 1901. Live music that starts late (11pm) on the weekend. Loads of memorabilia on the walls and ceilings. Connects to the pub next door in the back. Definitely a great stop if you like a good pub with great atmosphere. Very popular with the locals.

12/09/2024: No food available in the Sean Sibin. But great pint and a great atmosphere with some genuine old style Irish decor. Clean toilets and a decent outdoor area. Love it.

13/09/2024: I have been a customer of rouses many times over the years but I had really bad experience here tonight. I arrived here alone and was waiting for friends to arrive out in the back area when the bar lady came out and asked me “if I was ok” to which I replied I was and that I was waiting for friends to arrive to meet me. I probably had been here about 5 minutes at this point. I asked her if there was a problem and she basically said I cant just stay here like this (I am assuming without a drink?). I felt very unwelcome and promptly left. Look Im a 31 year old woman and this is not how I expect to be treated in a pub within 5 minutes of arriving just because I am alone. I have no idea what she thought I was doing but as soon as I walked outside I saw my friends had arrived and we walked down to the auld sibin (close to the bridge) instead and had a good evening. Would be really hesitant to recommend for anyone coming in alone in a similar circumstance.

03/11/2024: Very welcoming pub. Staff are friendly and good craic. Cocktails were lovely. Great atmosphere and DJ Nick was brilliant.
