18/08/2025: I was kindly invited to dinner in Etto for a special occasion. Location is excellent. Food is honestly only ok, my main dish of lamb was chewy. When the waiter asked how the dish was, I tried to tell them it wasn't great but they were gone before they could listen to my response. My pet peeve in a restaurant of this standard. Others had the steak which was good but all the steak in Dublin is so good at the moment. I think this restaurant is overhyped

Fueron más allá en las recomendaciones de alimentos, así como el vino para igualar, y el cuidado genuino en el Servicio prestado a nosotros fue excepcional. Recomendaría a cualquiera que celebre a lo grande o tenga una noche de citas casual para ir aquí - la comida es increíble, pero el personal hace que toda la experiencia sea memorable!

19/07/2025: Nunca me sentí más desagradable en un pub irlandés. Personal de bar bastante grosero y gruñón y ninguna broma de nadie dentro. Un pub que se esfuerza por presentarse como un gastro sigue siendo una casa de copas muy simple, poco atractiva, solo para los lugareños. El personal del salón afortunadamente posee encanto y gracia.

11/07/2025: Sin duda el mejor desayuno de la zona. Llevo viniendo aquí unos cuantos años y siempre es excelente. Dos salchichas de buen tamaño, dos lonchas de cerdo, huevo frito, tomate a la plancha, morcilla y pudin, dos tostadas y té o café, buena relación calidad-precio por 12€. 50 . El servicio es siempre eficiente y amable y la impresión es la de un establecimiento gestionado muy profesionalmente. Una cosa más, las patatas fritas siempre vienen servidas en un plato caliente, algo que no siempre se consigue en otro sitio.

03/08/2025: We eat at Woodruff about once a week, and it’s one of the few places we keep going back to without hesitation. The food is always excellent — thoughtful, seasonal, and full of flavour. It’s clear the kitchen really cares about what they’re doing, but the dishes don’t feel overcomplicated. The atmosphere is relaxed and unpretentious. It’s a nice space to sit in, calm, modern, and comfortable and the staff are friendly and easygoing. You feel looked after without it being too formal. There’s a consistency to the whole experience that’s hard to find these days. It’s the kind of place you start treating like your local, even if it’s a bit more special than that.

04/08/2025: Had another fabulous meal here in July with family who were in town from London. The service, food and atmosphere was second to none! It's such a gem Rathgar and love going there. Highly recommend it and love the welcome greeting we get when we arrive, everytime!

05/08/2025: Coffee is great, both mine and my wife’s crepes were burnt and they actually served them to us that way. If you like thin very crispy and burnt flavored crepes then this is for you. I don’t recommend.

05/08/2025: I waited at the entrance for someone to serve me, as the sign said, and the staff just looked at me like a weirdo. If they put up a sign, let it be for a reason.

13/08/2025: Can not fault the service excellent. I found the menu a little basic. Again food was good but nothing extravagant. Cool decor.

12/08/2025: The bar felt straight out of another era—unfortunately, so did the service. Big queue at the counter, no salt for the tequila, and the barman didn’t even bat an eye. We even spotted some salt flakes on the bar table and asked for it. Thankfully, the live saxophone and drums brought enough groove to keep the night from going flat. Stayed 1 hr, couldn’t breath, no air condition.

01/08/2025: We’ve been regular customers at The Gables for quite a while and have always enjoyed the food and warm service, especially from one particular waiter who is consistently friendly and professional. However, our recent visit was disappointing. The waiter who initially served us seemed rushed and impatient from the moment we sat down. We felt under pressure to order almost immediately, before we had a chance to read the menu. Dietary questions were handled without much care, and a drinks order was missed entirely. Unfortunately, this left us feeling like an inconvenience rather than welcome guests, even though the restaurant wasn’t particularly busy. I emailed the restaurant afterward to share our experience. While I appreciated the polite response, the focus was more on defending the staff member than acknowledging how the situation came across from our side as customers. This isn’t typical of our previous visits, which is why the contrast stood out so much. Hopefully it was just an off day, and we’ll give it another try — but it was a disappointing experience for a place we’ve usually really enjoyed.

28/07/2025: The menu and the food is excellent. Served in a very attractive restaurant by very helpful staff. There is plenty of parking near the restaurant.

24/08/2025: First visit: July 2024 Nice atmosphere, good service however the food was not the greatest. Second visit: August 2025 Gave Layla’s another try.. Terrible service: Staff messed up almost everyone’s order by missing some dishes & ordering wrong dishes for some. Food is still Mediocre (Pizza dough is pre baked) I would not recommend trying Layla’s for food.

23/08/2025: the crispy chicken sandwich is not breast , so i guess it is thigh or wing or something, either way it was hideous, could not finish it , it just tasted wrong and had a gross texture. it should say on the menu if it aint breast , when someone orders this type of dish they expect it to be breast , big shame, because everything else about the place is top notch. • they replied to this review thanking me for the feedback , but not a word about or explanation of what was in the chicken sandwich •

02/09/2025: Lovely restaurant in a great location, food was excellent,great flavours and staff are very friendly, good selection for those requiring Gluten free option. Price was very reasonable.
