30/11/2025: We had a wonderful two-night stay at Gleesons. Absolutely wonderful staff. A lovely hotel with a really warm welcome. Would highly recommend if you want a relaxed atmosphere, great food and lovely surroundings

17/11/2025: €40 per person is a good price for the 3 courses and tea or coffee. Amazing choice of starters I had the goatsbridge smoked trout . The sirloin of beef 🥩 was the best I have ever tasted. The dessert trolley is amazing. Service is exceptional food is amazing 🤩 parking is free .

08/12/2025: Ate here few weeks ago was totally disgusted with the food when we complained waz offered a free desert which was cold even though said the dish was hot.....and the cheek they have to charge what they charge And anything we asked to drink they didn't have wont be going back

07/12/2025: Our family of four stopped in without a reservation, and they were still able to accommodate us with no problem. We weren’t sure what to expect since we were just passing by, but the food was absolutely to die for — and the presentation was beautiful too! I wish I had taken photos. We will definitely be back!

Under the guidance of Tony, Martin, and Aidan, whose expertise and unwavering support elevated our learning experience. However, the highlight of our journey was the state-of-the-art conference room, a testament to Strokestown's commitment to innovation. Here, we delved into an AI image workshop, harnessing the power of cutting-edge technology with Midjourney software, in collaboration with Creative Heartlands. We navigated through the intricacies of digital creativity, unlocking new realms of artistic expression. Beyond the captivating surroundings and immersive activities, what truly sets Strokestown House apart is the warmth and hospitality extended by its dedicated staff. In essence, Strokesyown House and Gardens and Famkne Museum transcends the ordinary, offering a harmonious blend of history, innovation, and hospitality. Whether you're seeking a journey through time or a sanctuary for creative exploration, this enchanting mansion promises an experience that lingers long after the visit concludes.The Park's House has been opened after an extensive refurbishment and it's spectacular. The fairy woodland walk and Victorian Gardens are a treat, too. The House now also boasts a cafe and gift shop with the entrance akin to that of a five-star hotel. The staff are courteous, knowledgeable, and extremely accommodating for families. This year we had a wonderful time at the Victorian Santa Claus Experience. From start to finish it felt genuinely magical and very well organised. Eilish handled the tour perfectly. She guided everyone smoothly to where they needed to be, kept everything on schedule, and was professional and warm throughout. It made a real difference to the experience, especially with families and excited children. The elves were fantastic and fully in character, Santa was pure excellence, and Mrs Claus completely stole the show. She was engaging, funny, and memorable in the best possible way. I would highly recommend this to any family looking for an authentic and thoughtfully put together Santa experience. It felt special, immersive, and genuinely festive. Can't wait to go back again.

04/11/2025: We often stop here on the way to the west of Ireland. Its a great halfway stop. Lovely food, cosy atmosphere. Staff always lovely. Their veg soup and brown bread is delicious 😋

27/10/2025: Called in this morning 9am while passing through the area, reception door wouldn't open, but the restaurant door was. I asked the staff if they were severing breakfast, one of the staff said "No" and something about been full, hard to understand the accent. She said I could get something to eat in the garage down the road, if i wanted to eat in a garage i wouldn't be asking are they seriving breakfast, don't see how they were full as the car park was half empty (5 cars) and there was no one in the restaurant at all, place looked dead. Went onto Stokestown and had a lovely Breakfast in the Percy French Hotel. Never again.

31/10/2025: Great food, great service and the staff are extremely courteous and obliging.

03/10/2025: Tried out the Pepper Mill after a local recommendation. Found it clean, friendly staff and food was great. Coffee was nice too. Will be back.

03/08/2025: Brilliant camper stop over €10 honesty box with fresh eggs & croissants delivered to your van in the morning. On top of this great traditional music, craic & Guinness beside the parking but far enough away for a quiet night.

11/12/2025: A very inhospitable place. Today I was asked to leave the parking lot because I was staying too long. I arrived in Roscommon yesterday evening and parked my camper behind the gas station, near the laundromats. I did laundry this morning; I was tired of the journey, so I needed some time to rest. I was planning to go to the gas station for lunch, but a tall, bald man, probably the manager, came and asked me to leave because I was standing too long. This is Roscommon hospitality. There were plenty of empty spaces around; I wasn't blocking anything. There's not a single place in the entire town of Roscommon where tourists can park. I don't recommend anyone visiting Roscommon; there's nothing there, and you might meet a sad man who is the king of the parking there
