04/12/2024: Even though it was very busy and we hadn't booked we were still seated within 10 minutes. A varied menu with something for everyone, our food was delicious and plentiful. No empty bellies leaving Hester's. A fine dessert to follow and we were happy and full on departure. If you want good food in a good atmosphere and with courteous, efficient and friendly staff then I'd highly recommend Hester's to anyone. Keep up the good work Breege, Ollie, Frankie and staff. 😎👍

02/11/2024: Prompt service, good sized portions for good price and squash on the table which was a nice touch to go with the tap water (which was brought to our table within a couple minutes of sitting down without even needing to ask for it)

30/11/2024: Service was shoddy to say the least. I payed €10:00 for a really small sandwich and even then they got the order wrong. I waited ages to be served in the first place even when I was the first in the queue. I will NEVER come back here again.

21/11/2024: We stayed 2 nights, the rooms are gorgeous. Freshly renovated, warm and clean. Tea, coffee, shampoo, tv everything you need. The staff are also very friendly and gave us an earlier check in time. Thanks very much!

11/11/2024: Unfortunately, this has to be my first bad review, due to a poor service and even poorer meal. Both myself and my partner couldn't finish the meal. No questions asked and we couldn't be bothered to mention anything. We just wanted to pay and leave. Maybe chef's bad day and the waiting staff too,but not an excuse. Unfortunately, we won't be stopping by again. Only plus is the decor is very nice. A Junior Minister sat at one of the tables on the day and was greeted with "what ye want to drink,lads?". 🫣

06/11/2024: Food was OK but certainly not as good as it was some years ago. However, the staff were very friendly and the service was prompt.

20/10/2024: Super venue for a party, we just had a Christening party with a great meal & music 🎶 defo be back for more.

01/09/2024: Explained to waitress that I needed to ensure everything eaten was gluten free. No problem for chef. Chose Salmon & he ensured that the meal was free from gluten.. Salmon with Dill Sauce, chips cooked in a separate fryer and salad 😋

22/11/2024: Stayed at Gleeson's many times and they never fail to provide 5 star services throughout, the staff ,the food, the rooms and the owners can't do enough for you and nothing is to much trouble, it's in an ideal position in centre of town with ample parking,we would never think of staying anywhere else, and a great pint of Guinness.

26/11/2024: Best little cafe in County Monaghan. Very quaint, with an effortless cozy atmosphere. There’s also an outside seating area. Shakshouka in Castleblayney !! Beats a lot of places in Dublin hands down.

04/11/2024: Very first time that I’ve given a time slot to drink a coffee sitting in. When I arrived the lady at the desk was so unfriendly and she seemed not very happy I was looking to sit in to have a coffee and a croissant. I was really surprised to be told I had around 40 minutes to drink my coffee cause she was gonna need the table. It wasn’t a personal situation, the next customers were also given a time slot. Like I’ve traveled all around the world and had never asked to leave after a certain time. It’s feels so business like. But her attitude was stinky. The young girls were nice. Coffee isn’t that great, average espresso, croissants was ok, small but it was fine.

05/07/2024: Shame it closed - Best coffee I've found so far in Ireland. It's the equivalent of Espresso 44 in Galway, with even better coffee. The shop is small and always smells like freshly brewed coffee. Crazy idea, but I'd love it if they would also sell the best coffee scented candles they could find from Yankees and hand crafted. Friendly staff, impeccably clean.

11/12/2024: Stunning food as always - never disappoints! Beautifully unique setting with a wonderful selection of wines, as well as witty chats to accompany the meal! Shop area at the front with a selection of foods, sauces, wines etc. Favourite place for the best steak!

28/09/2024: I want to begin by saying the food we got was lovely . My husband enjoyed a main course of squid ( which was on as a starter). He explained that this dish appealed to him & the waitresse organised a double portion of starter. He really enjoyed it. He ordered a side of garlic potatoes. He described as very tasty and nice garlic flavours. I ordered the onion & mixed cheese tart. This is a starter. The only main vegetarian dish is pasta which personally always disappoints me. The tart was "divine" & if it could be done a little larger with salad this could be a great main course. I ordered side salad with starter portion & all presented beautifully. Staff member very friendly & polite. Regarding wine we tasted one glass of house white which we enjoyed so ordered a bottle. I had a look at selection of wines on shop front all looked good & very nice selections of tapa food. We had a plesant evening & while we did not order desert we relaxed while we finished our wine.
