30/12/2024: First visit here with a group of 16 ranging in age from 8 to 78! Couldn’t have been better from start to finish. Food (including steak, duck, hake, deep fried brie) was outstanding and service very attentive - Mags and Aoibheann deserve a special mention. In particular, our son with food allergies had a 3 course meal - this (unfortunately) is really rare but made such a difference to the experience for him and the whole group! Thank you so much!
01/12/2024: Beautiful setting but the food is bland and well below the standard you would expect for the prices. No extra touches to add to the experience.
Most of the dishes needed seasoning, a fairly basic thing to get right. The Pad Thai was by far the worst, didn't even resemble what it should be.
Over rated is being kind to the place.

30/11/2024: Service was shoddy to say the least. I payed €10:00 for a really small sandwich and even then they got the order wrong. I waited ages to be served in the first place even when I was the first in the queue. I will NEVER come back here again.

02/01/2025: Had lunch wirh my friends here last week and the food was lovely. Nice creamy mash (with no lumps, 🙂very important detail), my only issue was there is very little options for vegetarians. A veggie lasagne would have been a lovely on the menu. In saying that ...the staff were lovely and food was promptly served. I'm only giving 3 stars for lack of vegetarian variety.
04/12/2024: Even though it was very busy and we hadn't booked we were still seated within 10 minutes. A varied menu with something for everyone, our food was delicious and plentiful. No empty bellies leaving Hester's. A fine dessert to follow and we were happy and full on departure. If you want good food in a good atmosphere and with courteous, efficient and friendly staff then I'd highly recommend Hester's to anyone. Keep up the good work Breege, Ollie, Frankie and staff. 😎👍

01/09/2024: Explained to waitress that I needed to ensure everything eaten was gluten free. No problem for chef. Chose Salmon & he ensured that the meal was free from gluten..
Salmon with Dill Sauce, chips cooked in a separate fryer and salad 😋

16/12/2024: We had our wedding here in September and I can honestly say the service was absolutely incredible. Lisa, David, Annette, Alan and all the team made our dream day. Nothing was too much trouble and attention to detail was amazing. Highly recommend

05/07/2024: Shame it closed - Best coffee I've found so far in Ireland. It's the equivalent of Espresso 44 in Galway, with even better coffee. The shop is small and always smells like freshly brewed coffee. Crazy idea, but I'd love it if they would also sell the best coffee scented candles they could find from Yankees and hand crafted. Friendly staff, impeccably clean.

04/11/2024: Very first time that I’ve given a time slot to drink a coffee sitting in.
When I arrived the lady at the desk was so unfriendly and she seemed not very happy I was looking to sit in to have a coffee and a croissant.
I was really surprised to be told I had around 40 minutes to drink my coffee cause she was gonna need the table.
It wasn’t a personal situation, the next customers were also given a time slot.
Like I’ve traveled all around the world and had never asked to leave after a certain time. It’s feels so business like.
But her attitude was stinky. The young girls were nice. Coffee isn’t that great, average espresso, croissants was ok, small but it was fine.
