16/12/2025: Called here today for lunch. While waiting for my husband, I asked a staff member if she could bring me a coffee, clearly holding my walking stick. Before I finished explaining that my husband was joining me and would order our food, she rudely told me "no you will have to go to the counter". Some service this. Obviously, I left the premises feeling quite embarrassed. Shop local they said!

10/11/2025: I recommend the restaurant the pantry Roscommon me my husband really enjoy it it’s our forth time visiting it and no regrets. Worth the price very delicious food and the service are kind and fast aswell,the place is beautiful.

30/11/2025: What a find!. Best test of a restaurant is to order vegetarian options,which I did. (Im a carnivore) They were beautifully prepared, full of flavour and very satisfying. Lovely wine list. Place was very busy but service was flawless. Enjoy

17/11/2025: We had planned this dinner for weeks and arrived dressed formally, hoping for a nice evening. One member of our group had more to drink than the rest, but the most dramatic moment from our side was him repeating a question during ordering. There were no raised voices, no comments directed at staff, and no disruption of any kind. It was simply a mildly tipsy lad trying to decide between mash or chips. Despite this, the staff seemed convinced we were about to stage a full-scale riot. Service became unusually tense very quickly, and the passive-aggressive highlight of the night was receiving a takeaway dessert box with an angry face drawn on it. Nothing says “fine dining” quite like a doodle that looks as though it was done by a bored child in a maths class. When we politely asked what the issue was, we received no explanation at all. We were given only vague references to “inappropriate behaviour,” although nobody seemed able to describe what that behaviour actually was. We left confused but ready to move on. I was not even going to leave a review. My friend had already shared his experience, and that was going to be the end of it. However, after reading the owner’s public response, which was full of sweeping accusations without specifics and included the particularly theatrical claim that our table “should have been asked to leave at the first instance of the behaviour,” I felt the need to clarify what actually happened. If that is truly what they believed, I genuinely wish they had said something at the time. We would have happily gone somewhere else and spared everyone whatever imaginary crisis they thought was unfolding. To clarify our experience: • No inappropriate comments were made. • No one spoke to staff disrespectfully. • No disturbance occurred at any point. • Staff raised absolutely no concern with us during the meal. • When we asked directly, no explanation was provided. • All accusations afterward were vague and unverifiable. If the restaurant genuinely believes something inappropriate occurred, they are welcome, at last, to specify exactly what it was. They did not do so on the night, and they have not done so since. The only inappropriate behaviour we witnessed came from the staff, not the guests. We will not be returning, and I sincerely hope the next group’s greatest offence is not asking the same question twice.

17/09/2025: Easily the absolute best place to get breakfast in this country, I always get the panini with Pudding and Rashers delivered and a can of monster and it’s always absolutely unbelievable, highly reccomend to anyone

13/12/2025: Went with my wife for her birthday, stayed in an apartment, described as suitable for 4, more like 3, on third floor, no lifts. Had booked bar/restaurant at reception for one of our evenings, no booking recorded, bar full, had to go out in rain looking for place to eat

14/10/2025: We stayed in the tower hotel for a weekend break The room was top quality, The hotel is in a great location on the quays to stroll around waterford city. Attractions nearby include the medieval museum the vikings tour among others. The pier 37 food was just great waiting staff was awesome and they were very welcoming and attentive throughout the service. Great hotel, will come back.

24/08/2025: One of my favourite restaurants in Waterford. I had a lovely meal there Friday evening with my daughter for a special occasion. The food was delicious as always. The staff are very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Highly recommend Espresso for eat in or take away.

02/07/2025: We had an absolutely amazing time at The Great Escape in their 90's Video Store Room. The room itself had some puzzle aspects that we haven't seen in other rooms so it felt super fresh. Mark was our host and he was super friendly. I can't recommend this escape room enough!

11/12/2025: Just came back from The Santa experience. I hadn’t seen much online so wanted to give an honest review so others could see it. When we arrived we were confused as we weren’t in the castle at all but in the back where the golf course is, in the bar/restaurant for there. We were met by a lovely girl dressed as an elf and asked to wait inside where we were offered coffee and tea. Me and my husband got a tea and were waiting maybe 10 minutes after our time as there was a little hold up, no big deal. We then were escorted by another girl dressed as an elf to a shed, she was lovely and had a little chat before being brought to another shed to meet Santa. Santa was so nice and made my daughter feel welcomed as well as another girl dressed as an elf. We got two presents and had some pictures taken with our phones. I did expect a more professional set up with the pictures but whatever. Afterwards we went back to the golf club bar/restaurant and was seated for dinner. We had a lovely dinner, even got a baby bowl for my daughter which was mash, gravy and some carrots. Food was a solid 4/5. My takeaway from the day was that it was very expensive €50 a head, my daughter went free as she’s under 18 months so that’s something. When I booked I did expect it to be in the castle in a lovely room not a garden shed out the back. It wasn’t exactly Santa at the castle vibes they project in promos and website. I don’t think I would go again but the Santa was great and all the staff were so kind and accommodating. If it wasn’t for the staff it would had been terrible. I suggest having a room in the castle for next year as that’s what I was expecting and I’m sure others would too, I wouldn’t mind the dinner in the golf restaurant afterwards then with no issues. It felt thrown together and I didn’t see much different other then the dinner to go to town and see the Santa there, much cheaper too. Thank you to the staff and the Santa you were a credit to the place.

02/12/2025: I’m a Wedding DJ and have played at Waterford Castle quite regularly throughout the last few years. It is very popular for American destination weddings and the venue seems to meet the needs of these destination weddings as there is sufficient rooms on the island between the castle and lodges. There is always a great atmosphere around the castle and I’ve seen many great party’s here. The team are also excellent and everything runs on time.

16/06/2025: Fantastic atmosphere with live music, even on a Sunday. Jam on Thursdays is supposed to be an experience.

20/12/2025: Lana food is always lovely. Today I accidently placed an order in the Waterford restaurant instead of the Mayo restaurant and the lady in Waterford was exceptional in dealing with my mistake and was able to redirect my meal to the correct restaurant. Thank you for the excellent customer service in both restaurants

24/10/2025: I love their food, I have to confess that. Their coffee is amazing and high quality, and the food is all tasty, especially the acai bowl and sandwich. In the sandwich, there are really nice veggie pickles which are a sweet and sour blend perfectly. Highly recommend.
