The best restaurants in Waterford

06/05/2026: We stopped in to enjoy some Irish Whiskey. Flash who is the owner kept us mesmerized with his story telling of the town, the museums, distilleries, breweries and bars. He should be paid by the Waterford’s Tourism Board. He has a huge selection of whiskeys and is so knowledgeable about all of them. Was a great time meeting this fine Irish gentleman!! Please stop by, you won’t be disappointed!!!

02/01/2026: Overall, the food was not great. Most dishes came out, colder incorrect, and had to be remain. The oysters were the only thing that was worthwhile. Other than that you have an inexperienced kitchen and a wait staff, too worried about their tip and not about the customers experience.

09/10/2025: This cafe is buzzing with energy, friendly helpful service, healthy delicious food and great coffee. I went in to get a coffee for a homeless guy one day and bumped into Sinead the owner I knew from years ago we had a friendly chat and she gave me the coffee and croissant for free as I told her who it was for. Highly recommend 👍

19/05/2026: Luggage service was provided at check-in and check-out. Changing rooms was no problem, as we were unable to use the stairs due to mobility issues. Breakfast was excellent and the service throughout was superb. Best regards, Beate and Marie

18/05/2026: Stayed here with my parents to celebrate my mother's 80th birthday. The team couldn't do enough for them, everyone was so friendly and helpful. Ross carried all their luggage from the car to their room - both parents have walking sticks. Leanne was also a smiling helpful lady. Karen our waitress had such a lovely way with her and kept the one liners coming which charmed my parents. They love the banter! The rooms were fantastic, comfortable, well appointed and recently refurbished. The supervisor at breakfast was excellent too, we didn't catch his name but he was another real asset. We caught him about to head out to the car with my parents luggage in the rain, just stopped him in time - we had coats he didn't! This has got to be the friendliest hotel in ireland! Well done everyone, you aced the customer journey 👏🏻

11/05/2026: We were there at lunchtime with four people. The calamari were really bad; they were far too undercooked, limp, and mushy. The potato skin was undercooked and unseasoned. The two salads were good; the brie salad had fried cheese balls. The server was friendly and offered replacements.

10/05/2026: All the food is good And I actually enjoy it you have to come to this restaurant And The food was amazing is better than any restaurant in Waterford..

07/05/2026: Was in today at lunch time, busy place, ordered the breaded chicken, asked for pepper sauce instead of gravy, I didn't realise until I sat down that the dinner was covered in really salty gravy, not a fan of gravy, hence the one star.

14/08/2025: Absolutely love this cafe! The coffee is top-notch – Prices are very reasonable, especially considering the quality of both the drinks and the food. The interior is really nicely done too – clean, cozy, and a great place to relax or catch up with friends. Service is always quick and friendly, which makes a big difference. Definitely one of my go-to spots now. Highly recommend!

07/08/2025: Superb latte & tasty cakes with friendly service. I really enjoyed resting here & relaxing after hectic tour of surrounding attractions. Just off beaten track but so close to centre of town.

10/05/2026: Was here for day two of a wedding unreal weather so we were outside and was unreal , good food and friendly staff

10/05/2026: We had a retirement party upstairs . Staff were lovely and very friendly especially Johnathan . The 2 young girls serving on the night did a great job . The room is decorated very tastefully and a good size . . Finger food good and plentiful . Thanks for everything and Would definitely recommend .

22/04/2026: The best Sunday roast in town now that the greenway manor is closed. Portions are great and its got a varied menu.

10/04/2026: I was never served with such bad attitude by a waitress. I duno her name but she had dark hair and threw menus at us and looked annoyed thar she was taking our order. I could hear her cursing and givin out and she didn’t check if we were ok. I wish someone else served us. Very unprofessional. What a pity because the food was really tasty and the portion size was great. Disappointing service that will stop people going to the cove.

14/05/2026: Got recommended this bar as a place for Guinness. Every pint was cream and the cheapest pub we went to all weekend. Live music but you can still have a chat. Staff are super friendly and great to tell you about the local area. I'd go back to Waterford just to go here for a pint here. Highly recommend.

11/05/2026: Excellent Hotel with a fabulous golf course. Amazing setting for a wedding. Lodges are very spacious for visitors.

25/03/2026: Very unprofessional and caught in a lie. I was looking to buy a do-er upper home by myself , John said he would only be able take a bid if I did a structural report. Me being young , totally green and accommodating I accepted in paying €450 to one of his friends for a report. I could only make a renovation feasible if I would qualify for the home vacancy grant. Before I started any process with John I asked him, and also his wife on two occasions each …if the house was vacant for 2yrs. They assured me it was each time , then once I got the report done and put in a few bids, he contacted my mortgage broker to recommend that it would not be a “feasible investment” for me. My mortgage broker pulled support immediately for any potential renovation,and then John rang me a day later to say that unfortunately the house wasn’t in fact vacant with two years afterall. He told me he had a cash buyer ready to go more on the bidding, and was eager to close as it was a bank sale. I was quite disgusted and disappointed …and knowing I was being misled ,I gave up. A day or so later I knocked on a few doors of some very helpful neighbours, they got me in contact the seller of the property (who was extremely obliging) … they assured me it most definitely wasn’t a bank sale…and that they were not in any rush whatsoever to close. I wished the person luck with the sale and just stated I simply wanted to find out if I was misled or not. Unprofessional and misleading. I may be young,but I worked hard ,saved hard and am very honest with anyone I come across.A very unpleasant experience

18/03/2026: It was a pleasure to have dealt with Tom. He agreed to meet us on a Saturday morning before Christmas to allow us a viewing of the house that interested us. It was so easy to contact him directly by phone and when the keys were being handed over, it was a lovely touch to receive a card and a bottle of prosecco as well.
