The best restaurants in Waterford

15/07/2026: Beautiful Irish pub full of history and good craic. Would recommend to anyone passing by the area to stop off for a pint! Bartender was brilliant too! Shoutout to him!

12/07/2026: Absolutely amazing old pub with truly outstanding food. The langoustines and scallops we had were on another level. I haven’t had seafood this good anywhere else in Ireland. I highly recommend this place, and I’ll definitely be coming back to try some of their meat dishes in the future.

06/08/2026: it was a lovely place, but don't get what's all the fuzz about this place, food was good, but not spectacular, service was average, desserts were let down, Terimisu had too much cream, doesn't taste like Terimisu, even next table said?the same... overall just ok.

31/07/2026: Had a great few hours here trying all kinds of Irish whiskeys we had never heard of. Adam and Lee were both delightful bartenders. Great recommendations and also honest un-recommendations. We will be back!

02/08/2026: The bar is beautiful, inside the Guinness building. You absolutely have to book. The food is fantastic and the service was excellent. After your meal, you can check out the Guinness interactive exhibit or go up to the terrace to enjoy the city skyline with a beer. I'll definitely be back when I'm in Dublin! ❤️

30/07/2026: Prices are understandably higher due to the location, but the cuisine is excellent, original, and well-prepared. It's not a tourist trap.

01/06/2026: This hotel is situated a few minutes walk from the city center, that is a plus. Staff is very friendly and helpful, also a big plus. The rooms have no air-conditioning so if you have a room in the back, above the parking lot, a lot of noise from cars, the kitchen and the music from weddings that take place inside that is a minus

25/04/2026: Delicious food, very attentive and friendly people. Highly recommended. We could hardly choose from so many tasty things! We enjoyed ourselves immensely. The atmosphere in the restaurant is amazing.

04/08/2026: Jack Meade’s Pub was one of the highlights of our time in Ireland! We started with dinner, and the lasagna was absolutely delicious—comfort food at its best. After dinner, we headed upstairs for an evening of entertainment with Tom, and it was fantastic. He had everyone laughing, singing along, and enjoying the music. The atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and full of great craic, as the Irish say! From the wonderful food to the lively entertainment and friendly vibe, Jack Meade’s Pub delivered a memorable Irish pub experience. If you’re looking for great food, wonderful music, and a fun night out, this is the place to go. We’d happily return the next time we’re in Ireland!

03/08/2026: Fabulous spot away from it all. Food and service Fabulous 👌. Kids playground, some historic buildings and a wildlife trail on a tidal river. Definitely would recommend.

16/08/2026: Food was delicious, I am celiac and was happy to enjoy a very good gluten free burger (the meat was perfectly cooked). They also adapted to my friends diet (removing cheese from pizza / burger).

08/08/2026: Randomly walked in without checking the reviews, and was very happy we did. The pizza was very tasty, had that woodfired oven taste going for it, and the southern chicken waffles were great too. Place was busy but the service was good.

It is a very nice, quiet hotel that provides a perfectly relaxing environment. ​ ​Our room was incredibly comfortable and featured nice, cozy beds that ensured a great night's sleep. ​The reception staff were absolutely superb—welcoming, efficient, and very helpful. ​It is in a highly convenient location, making it easy to get around the area. ​ ​Breakfast: They serve a decent breakfast with a good variety to start your day off right. ​ ​With its combination of comfort, great service, and convenience, the Viking Hotel is a wonderful choice when staying in Waterford. We would happily stay here again!

21/08/2026: Amazing fresh and tasty food with lots of options at very good prices.

16/08/2026: Dodgy place or bad staff, who knows. We walked in to this place noting the big sign on the window stating their lunch menu with most things going for €8.99, awesome price. We went in, they had their regular menus on the tables but we had taken a photo of the lunch menu and picked items off that. At paying, they charged us full price saying we didnt state it was from the lunch menu, even though we were there at lunch menu time and picked items on that menu. Completely false advertising and an absolute rort. The food is not worth the full price and has now dampened and otherwise lovely day. Pathetic.

19/05/2026: Luggage service was provided at check-in and check-out. Changing rooms was no problem, as we were unable to use the stairs due to mobility issues. Breakfast was excellent and the service throughout was superb. Best regards, Beate and Marie

18/05/2026: Stayed here with my parents to celebrate my mother's 80th birthday. The team couldn't do enough for them, everyone was so friendly and helpful. Ross carried all their luggage from the car to their room - both parents have walking sticks. Leanne was also a smiling helpful lady. Karen our waitress had such a lovely way with her and kept the one liners coming which charmed my parents. They love the banter! The rooms were fantastic, comfortable, well appointed and recently refurbished. The supervisor at breakfast was excellent too, we didn't catch his name but he was another real asset. We caught him about to head out to the car with my parents luggage in the rain, just stopped him in time - we had coats he didn't! This has got to be the friendliest hotel in ireland! Well done everyone, you aced the customer journey 👏🏻
