The best restaurants in Waterford

09/08/2025: Lovely staff very accommodating and quick. My steak sandwich was delicious and delivered so swiftly I was unsure of its quality before tasting however my worries were put to rest from Bite 1!!! My wife’s duck was also nice and arrived with my sandwich so we could eat together. I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Waterford.

07/08/2025: Great place for a drink and a bite. The beer battered fish was super crispy and delicious! Paired well with a Guinness too.

17/08/2025: I go there for the lunch time menu which really reasonably priced for a filling meal. This is my favourite Asian food place in the city. The resteraunt is clean and the food is not overly greasy. Quick service and friendly staff

An absolute treat, food was spectacular, lovely staff that go above and beyond to make sure your meal is perfect. We love this place and it's consistently excellent! Well worth a visit! 02/08/2025: Kudos to the chef! The scallops were divine…all our entrees extraordinary. But we were seated in the lower level (and no other guests were there) and after delivery of the starter course- forgotten. Like no water, no cocktail query, no additional bread (we did ask at the food server when the first course came but it never arrived). More parties finally came downstairs too, but again, aside from receiving our main entree, we were not checked on even though we all looked for someone to notice us. This is an easy thing to remedy and I hope that Everett’s continues to prepare their magical meals.

29/07/2025: I was very disappointed with the dinner I had in the Granville. Service was extremely slow, had to wait 15 minutes to order while staff stood around and bar was quiet. The staff member who took our order was extremely rude, we weren't told the specials and when I found asked a question, the staff member replied "sure I wouldn't know". My curry was definitely re-heated as there was a skin over it when it came out and the rice was uneatable. It was stuck together and felt it it had been re-heated. Took another 12 minutes to order dessert which was a big let down.

27/06/2025: Best chips I’ve had in all of Ireland. Best meal we had in our 2 weeks here. Monkfish tempura goujons were superb as were the gambas. Cannot rave enough about their food with great atmosphere and excellent location.

04/08/2025: Security in the pub are incompetent, was there with my partner recently, some drunk fella took our seat and refused to go despite us politely asking him, bouncer (young tall dude with the beard) did little effort to move him away and then shook his hand and started being rude to us told us to go away. Would never recommend this place

20/07/2025: Ordered a salmon and prawn salad for the value of 17€…Came two slices of salmon looking and tasting just like the ones you can get from a supermarket with a spit of salad and very small portion of prawns on the side…I was very disappointed considering above all the price of it which for me was ridiculous beyond compare… I would only choose this place again for a nice drink out and good party vibe but for the food you can easily get way better and cheaper elsewhere…

20/07/2025: As a vegetarian was nothing short of infuriating. The so-called options were limited to a goat cheese salad (€14.50), a vegetarian lasagna (€14.50), and a portion of chips (€4); all of which were shockingly poor in both quality and value. The salad was a joke: a handful of sad with wilted leaves. No effort, no flavour and absolutely NOT worth €14.50. The lasagna? As an Italian, I can honestly say I’ve never seen anything so disrespectful to the dish. I had a portion of chips. For €4, I got a tiny pile of limp, soggy fries that weren’t even hot. No crispness, no seasoning, no excuse. In 2025, it’s unacceptable for a restaurant to treat vegetarians as an afterthought. This wasn’t just a lack of options, it was a lack of care. Lazy, joyless food, and an experience I won’t be repeating.

27/07/2025: Ordered a pizza for collection, when my partner went to collect it they had no details about the order. He rang when he got home to tell them the issue as he had no phone with him to check the order. When speaking to the manager she provided no solution to the issue (possibly waiving the delivery fee or if we collected it throwing in free cookies). They clearly didn't want our custom. Terrible experience.

23/07/2025: We skipped the tour and went straight to 1837 for lunch. As vegetarian’s we didn’t have high hopes but were pleasantly surprised by the taste and freshness of the food. Plus the Guinness was perfect as expected.

22/07/2025: After visiting the Guiness Storehoue, we decided that we want to eat a chocolate mousse and maybe something else as well. They informed us that the restaurant is closing in 45 minutes, so we should take this into consideration before ordering.. We ordered a cheese platter and a chocolate mousse. The platter came fairly quickly, the cheese were good, the cracker was not much for this amount of cheese.. Then we waited 20-25 minutes till somebody came to clean the table and ask us if we wanted anything else. As the chocolate mousse still did not arrive, we just kindly told them that we are still waiting for the mousse. In about 7 minutes they brought us the mousse, which was probably quickly put together, and there were huge chunks of chocolate inside. You cannot call this a mousse.. The view was very nice from the table so we could enjoy that part.

26/07/2025: Very dissapointed with the food, pasta was very bland and was a small portion I wasn’t full afterwards. Very pricy for the quality and the portion. The atmosphere wasn’t the best either the waiters look unhappy and overall I wouldn’t return here
