28/12/2025: Chips were perfect 👌 Southern fried chicken was possibly the best I've had in years. Good size portion. No complaints here.

01/11/2025: Only place to get real Waterford blaas. Fresh, pillowy and delicious. An institution.

26/07/2025: The best blaas in Waterford, fresh from the oven. They do a variety of breads, rolls, and some buns too. Excellent quality.

21/12/2025: Waited 35 mins on a breakfast . Asked for fried tomatoes and about Twenty half cherry tomatoes came with my egg !! We drank of coffees well before we got our food . Asked for more coffee to go with our breakfast and got charged for it . Staff would need a wake up call . Not talking orders properly listening to other tables . A pity because it’s a nice setting but won’t be coming back here any time soon . 👎.

24/11/2025: Food was ok but breakfast was visually unappealing. Taste was ok but selection was very poor such as no beans or mushrooms. Service was good.

30/12/2025: Activate was the absolute highlight of our holidays. We found it online while searching for fun things to do in Waterford with 3 boys aged 9,10 and 13. We decided to book online and visit. From the moment we arrived the staff were accommodating and friendly. Jack thought our 3 boys how to do the climbing wall and was fantastic with them. The boulder climbing was lots of fun and he had great patience with them. We then used the physical gaming zone again the man explaining what to do was fun and was great getting them to listen and engage. It was great fun and something we could all do. We returned the next day for the bowling another great hit. ACTIVATE is trendy colourful new and really fun. I would highly recommend it and the good coffee was a real bonus. It is excellent value for money and a must if you are looking for some fun with kids.

07/01/2026: We came into this bar in the afternoon after walking around the town and it looked very inviting in from the outside. A warm welcome, a very good service. The prices for the drinks was excellent. The guinness i had was exceptional. I loved the decor inside. Overall a very grand experience.

05/09/2025: Came here with my daughter & grandchild.. was made very uncomfortable by the staff & rude to my daughter. A toasted sandwiche was out of the question as its breakfast time .. told her in a very rude manner ..staff has changed here i wont be back here . So dissapointing.. bla had no butter on either side 🙈 sausages not cooked n streaky bacon was burnt Wasnt given cutlery had to wait 10 mins to be served and another 20 t9 get food that was not worth 23+ euro

21/01/2026: Where do I begin?! From the very instant we drove onto the ferry, we knew we had found our wedding venue. What we didn't know, was how incredibly helpful, professional and outstandingly organised Gillian and the team are at Waterford Castle. Nothing online does the place justice. We had our wedding here on Jan 2nd of this year and Gillian couldn't have done enough for us as wedding coordinator leading up to the day. The day itself, including the rehearsal dinner the night before, couldn't have gone better and it's all down to what a fantastic venue Waterford Castle is, and how outrageously hospitable the staff are there. The whole day felt like a fairytale and it's 100% down to how smoothly everything ran. If there were any issues, we didn't know about them as I'm certain Gillian ensured that she dealt with everything without causing us any stress. I don't have enough words for how highly I recommend Waterford Castle - every guest was raving about how incredible the food was and just how beautiful the venue itself is. We will hold a special place in our hearts for Waterford Castle and its staff forevermore. Photographs by the amazing Wilma Towell Photography - had to include some to show the venue off!

23/11/2025: Well I don’t get other people’s post about how outstanding The Fitzwilton Hotel, Waterford has done. So I guess they ( by they I mean staff) were all in a shitty mood when we booked in. Because the first thing that makes your Holiday is the place you book in at that’s supposed to welcome you, and the rest is up to yourselves. First of all, there was no eye contact they continued to have their head down and either typing playing game or looking at something on a computer. The next day I asked for an extra bath towel which the receptionist had put in the computer and said to me no worries I’ll have one put in your room. I then asked about tissues and the answer was: Oh no we don’t do tissues. So all you guess booking in your going to have to blow your nose on toilet paper 🧻. I then asked for some extra coffee and milk which then she replies, OK I will add that to the towel that’s to be put in your room. Then my last request was about water. You don’t have bottle water in your room? No I haven’t. Ok I’ll make sure there is some bottles put in your room. Ok Thank You 🙂. We never received one thing. No bottle water, no extra bath towel & no more coffee & milk. Talk about skimpy & yet we ( The Customers) pay for this, don’t we? Because after spending time in Dublin & Arklow Bay & Kilkenny they all supplied bottled water in room along with tissues along with when requested more coffee & milk in your room. Fitzwilton Hotel staff were rude, anyone that walked into the lobby weren’t welcome or any guests that came in was not spoke to and a friendly smile. Not even when a guest was leaving to explore Waterford, Ireland 🇮🇪 was spoken to with a friendly; Have a nice day. So I could go on, but this guest has covered what needs to be addressed to all staff here & not just to reception or staff in the breakfast room but to bosses over these people. Because obviously, the bosses aren’t doing their job properly. If you booked through a travel agency and it’s a package and the Fitzwilton Hotel Waterford, is in the package try and swap area or Hotel. Because out of five stars I give Fitzwilton Hotel Waterford two stars. And if the lady on reception was doing her job well, she would of made sure everything that she said yes to was fulfilled by asking us. She couldn’t be bothered. So with that you spoiled it dear for everyone else. What this Hotel needs is a inspector to go through without any of staff members knowing 😉•

28/01/2026: This place is fantastic! Right on the Waterford Quay (pronounced 'key'). The Tower has lovely, large rooms. The restaurant and bar are fantastic. Everyone is so friendly. It is in a great location with lots of walkable shops, pubs, antique shops, and other places.

08/01/2026: We had a Divine Service All Ireland 🇮🇪 gathering today with our Apostle from UK and a District Rector also from UK two Sisters were ordained Deacon s One for Cork and One for Waterford Congregation and a new Rector (ie equivalent of a Parish Priest) for Waterford and a big choir practice afterwards, a very blessed occasion for Ireland and the New Apostolic Church members here and guests that attended too.

27/10/2025: just been to the café and I have to say it was outstanding. From the moment u go in the staff are so welcoming and friendly. We had the full breakfast and the yogurt fruit flat white and a Americano. Everything was so delicious. I highly recommend it.

09/07/2025: Vegan and vegetarian options only, it's ok but I have had better elsewhere. ***Update as requested by the owner- reviewing experience from three months ago. Had "the garden gate" and a matcha latte.

22/05/2025: Super surprise in finding this place for vegetarian and vegan food. We had three full plates normally costing € 10.50 were priced down to €5.50 as it was after 1 pm. Food was very tasty and I am not easily impressed.

10/02/2026: Great place for anyone who likes Chinese food. Service was very good. Staff were super friendly. Music wasn't pertinent but nice classical pieces for the most part. Went there with a group of 30 and service was organised and timely.

26/01/2026: We got a take out here for the first time last weekend and will definitely be back, everything we got was gorgeous and fresh and the staff were so friendly too.
