The best restaurants in Waterford

23/08/2025: This place is wonderful. The service is great, the place is super nice and the food is perfect. Everything is delicious. I recommend it 100%.

23/08/2025: To be honest, of all the places I've been, I left a review if it's the best place I've ever eaten. The place is wonderful, very cozy, the price is wonderful, and let's talk about the food. The food is fresh, high quality, in the right portion. The cake is moist and not too sweet. I loved the orange cake. The service is very fast, the food is ready very quickly. The iced tea is wonderful. It couldn't be more than 10/10. Perfection.

26/06/2025: If I was to use one word to describe this place it would be “consistency”. Whether it’s a takeaway or dine in, every time the food and service have been top notch. Restaurant is small and intimate, with Thai themed decor throughout as expected. Very comfortable seating and very discrete attentive service. Prices are very reasonable also.

25/08/2025: Best student pub in Waterford. Weekly quizzes, karaoke and lots of events partnered with the SETUSU. Even if they didn’t, it’s still an amazing pub, great atmosphere, lovely and kind staff. Overall, a must go if you ever visit Waterford

20/08/2025: I booked a group dinner for my birthday. The staff were very attentive and helpful with securing an available time slot. They regularly checked in with me by ringing me to confirm numbers throughout the week leading up to the booking. I thought this was very thoughtful of them. However, on the night the service was very poor. The orders for food and drink were taken quickly which was good. The main courses were brought out promptly. The plates were cleared before people were finished their meals and a few of the party were being haruanged about whether they were finished. The desserts took an hour and a half, and half were brought out and the other half afterwards. The wait staff snapped at me when we asked for the other desserts. At the point of payment, it was not mentioned to me at the time of booking, over the phone when they contacted me, when we arrived and were seated nor was there any visible signage that we could not pay separately. The owner of the restaurant, an older Irish woman, shouted at my friend when she tried to request that the party of 13 people could pay separately and brought up how it was not mentioned at any point leading up to us paying. The staff continuously interrupted and cut across us every time we tried to list out what we ordered and jumped ahead to say that we had to take for xyz drinks etc. Overall the food tasted incredible however the atmosphere created by the rudeness of the staff and the delay of food was unpalatable. I would not be coming back here, even just for a date as the experience was unpleasant and we had the feeling of being rushed out the door.

20/08/2025: We went here for my best friends birthday. The food was lovely but that was the only positive. The food was late and staggered arriving from the kitchen; meaning we all couldn’t eat at the same time. When we questioned where the desserts were, we were barked at and told to sit back down. When we finished food; me and my boyfriend had to leave early, we wanted to pay separately. This was ok however when I went to tell the girl my order and what I had, she cut across me and said the waitress will tell me. I found this very insulting as I would never give an incorrect order when paying. The waitress continued to interrupt us each time we went to tell her our order to which I responded, I know my order I don’t need you to tell me like I’m not gonna pay. The staff were ignorant, very abrupt and made the atmosphere extremely unpleasant for those who remained behind for my friends birthday. I will not be going back here and tbh this restaurant left a sour taste in my mouth. They say 1st impressions are key. This was my 1st and last time going to La Fontana. I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone, life is too short for bickering!

26/07/2025: The best blaas in Waterford, fresh from the oven. They do a variety of breads, rolls, and some buns too. Excellent quality.

13/09/2025: First time i went for breakfast with friend As a muslim always concerned about vegan options and no meat stuff The lady SHERON was so nice and answered all my questions regarding if no animal Oil used or do u use the same pan for bacon and other stuff She was kind enough to answer my questions and even suggested us a vegetarian food option and even told us what to order and how much Because of her we had a great time Enjoyed the food 🥰 Not enough options for muslim friendly though but what they have is good enough 2ndly didnt get the chance to have bakery items But Im sure they must have no alcohol and gelatine free stuff too 👍

11/08/2025: Today I went to cafe Lucia with a family member. She ordered a burger and chips and I ordered homemade chicken goujons and chips. We waited 20 mins and when our food came, it looked quite appetising. Upon first glance my chicken looked alright. But as I started to eat it I noticed it looked a bit pink. I ate some chips and some salad which was really tasty. I tore open a few other goujons to inspect and 2 other goujons were raw. They were hot but pink. My family member said she would alert a member of staff but I didn't want to make a big deal. The waitress told the kitchen and came back to us saying because the chicken is free range, and how its cut, it can be pink. This confused me. She offered me a brownie or cake but I was turned off all food. When paying, I expected a refund but I was not given even the option for a recipt and my total was 37 euros. Not pleased. But my drink, chips and salad was nice.

24/06/2025: The owner was remarkably rude and openly disdainful towards American tourists specifically. Scoffed at my request to use my own cup in front of a room of 5 other men implying he didn’t want to touch the lid or have it under his machines— fair enough I suppose. From there he gave a distinct air of self-importance that was honestly laughable. He’s not a waiter in Paris ffs, he’s slinging coffees and cakes in Waterford. La-di-dah, sure mammy is very proud. Note to the man himself: if you’re as unpleasant with other patrons as you were with me, that’s why you’re not getting tips. Don’t assume you’re any better than anyone else either, self exceptionalism is what makes Americans so annoying and frankly, you reek of it. Hypocrite. The coffee was fine though. Thanks.

17/06/2025: Great place, just right amount food for lunch and reasonably priced. Sandwiches, coffee and dessert was excellent.

17/09/2025: I am not one for reviews but I have to put my words of appreciation here I had my daughter's 40th and my other daughter's 37th birthday party in the dunmore room on Saturday 13th of September 2025 and I have to say that I cannot fault this hotel or their staff for the most amazing night . The staff went up and beyond themselves to make sure myself and my quests were well looked after and even joined in with a few dance moves which was absolutely brilliant. I personally highly recommend this place for functions i really do . I cannot wait to have my own big 60 here in march of 2026

02/08/2025: Friendly service. I was a bit disappointed, the restaurant of a greyhound racecourse did not allow a greyhound inside. We had a retired greyhound, that would have been quiet under the table.
