06/09/2026: This was our meeting pop for a hen party before we headed to Waterford Castle, lovely outdoor area and good service

03/09/2026: A lovely restaurant, very spacious with a terrace. The staff were friendly. The food was good and the portions were generous. I highly recommend the soup starter. It was absolutely delicious. If you like fish and chips, this is the place for you (though it's not really my thing), but the tagliatelle was also very good. We were hoping for a view of the water, but there wasn't one.

26/09/2026: Myself and my boyfriend went, food was really yummy - really delicious However a male gentleman in his 40/50s with glasses served us, not very friendly at all, made us feel quite uncomfortable

What truly made the visit stand out was the outstanding service from the bartender. Not only were they friendly, attentive, and professional, but their translation skills were absolutely stellar. They went above and beyond to help bridge language barriers, making everyone feel included and comfortable. Their ability to communicate clearly and effortlessly with people from different backgrounds added a personal touch that elevated the entire experience. 11/09/2026: We had an wonderful experience of the 11 course tasting menu. The space is small but well designed and the food was truly excellent. We had been at Michelin star restaurants the two days previously and Mara definitely held its own against these in terms of the food. Interesting use of seafood and local produce. The tasting menu gave great value for money, I was struggling for room by the end! Service was friendly (appreciated the glass of fizz on learning it was our honeymoon) and we hope to be back!

25/08/2026: We had an outstanding meal at the this wonderful gem of a restaurant in Waterford. The food, the service , the understated decor allow the food to be the centre of the show where it should be. It is so wonderful I want to keep it a secret but that would be unfair. I highly recommend you visit and experience this wonderful restaurant. Catherine

13/09/2026: I had a really lovely experience here while visiting Waterford. Janie was incredibly kind and welcoming, and she even gave me some great tips on places to see around the city, which I really appreciated. I had the avocado toast and it was delicious. The eggs were cooked perfectly! I’ll definitely come back next time I’m in Waterford, especially to try some of the other things on the menu.

25/08/2026: Great escape room! We did the 90s video rental room. It was excellent fun. There are not many clues provided but the game makes complete sense. It was really coherent so we could work our way through the puzzles. Our games master, Mark, was a great guy and very helpful. We will be sure to return in the future.
