O' Hehirs Bakery & Cafe

26/03/2025: In this day and age of higher prices and smaller portions, I was very pleasantly surprised to visit this cafe with my wife. The staff were very friendly and welcomed us with a smile. We ordered a breakfast toasties to share, it was huge and delicious. The toastie was only €7.50 and with a large pot of tea, the bill came to €13.20.
Great value. I will be back. Thank you O Hehirs, highly recommend 👏

The Burger Buff Mullingar

05/05/2025: Glorified burger van without the wheels, just like the Signature chicken burger without the chicken. Literally a "Birds Eyes" chicken burger in a tiny bun with days old lettuce and sliver of tomato. Burger was so thin and charging silly money. Curry chips were nice but your can't really get that wrong.... Stay well clear not worth the money, if it was a fiver for the meal id think long and hard 🤮

28/11/2024: Food was healthy, affordable and consistent while I was a student here. I liked that the menu was different everyday and it was always warm.
Some of the staff were very nice. Hopefully everyone is doing well.

04/04/2025: DO NOT GO HERE!!! The staff are some of the most rudest people I have ever met, over charged me by €10.50 and argues black and blue that they didn’t. Made my partner spend €10.50 more because they got my order wrong. The rudest people to deal with, food was also freezing cold, awful hygiene behind the counter also

30/11/2024: Quite decent place to go out for a drink. Only if security wasn’t the most rude people I’ve ever seen and you were able to drink on the fking dancefloor I would definitely go here again. Honestly don’t come here unless you don’t have any other options.

25/04/2025: Absolute peach of a pub. Lovely people, lovely fresh local food. Reasonable prices. Only downer is that it’s difficult to park. But worth trying!!
08/02/2025: Great food in a beautiful oldstyle pub, welcoming, friendly staff and locals and a blazing fire on a cold day.
The chowder was delicious as was the brown bread and the calamari and prawns were as good as I have ever had.

Wineport Lodge
07/05/2025: We met with a friend for lunch and stayed until nearly 5pm. Wineport is in a beautiful setting and on a warm and sunny afternoon it was an excellent place to meet.
Staff are very welcoming, relaxed and professional. Our lunches were reasonably priced and very tasty, I would definitely be back to try again
14/02/2025: I always thought the Wineport Lodge was the place to have dinner in the midlands but the quality has considerably dropped. However, the prices are higher now!!! Meaning a very basic steak with no trimmings will set you back 40 eur when it is 25-30 eur anywhere else. The dinner menu is very basic. Very disappointed and will not go there again for a while.
