The best restaurants in Cork

18/06/2025: I was genuinely shocked by what I witnessed at Gym Plus Cork in Mahon Point during my recent visit. A female member was working out in what was essentially a bikini bra and shorts so short and see-through that her private areas were clearly visible as she walked around and during squats. This level of exposure is completely inappropriate for any public gym, and it created an uncomfortable atmosphere for others, myself included. Even more disturbing was the fact that there were adolescents present at the time. In my view, this goes beyond poor judgement — it amounts to public indecency, and I believe the Gardaí should be made aware. Gym Plus urgently needs to enforce a clear and reasonable dress code to ensure a respectful, safe, and professional environment for all members, including families and young people. This kind of negligence is unacceptable.

09/08/2025: Food and Coffee was nice. What was brilliant was the service from Jess ( I believe her name was). She was very welcoming and kind. Atmosphere in the place was nice and chill too.

19/11/2025: Super bar. Came down from Belfast and a friend recommended this place - did not disappoint. Pints were great, staff were sound and I could have stayed for hours more for the music alone! Will absolutely be back again.

27/06/2025: I'm a regular here and have always been a fan of their doner. Got the doner last week and it was a greasy mess. Thought it was a one time thing. Had doner again last night and its just awful. doesnt even taste like meat anymore. Don't know what happened here lads.

23/11/2025: Don't go here if you're hungry. Went here during the week, was met by extremely small plates, very expensive for what you get, zero presentation and little to no flavour. The place itself is lovely and has a lovely vibe, but we had to go elsewhere for food after we left. Won't ever be returning for food.

04/12/2025: I came to McDonald’s today to eat a Big Tasty, and what I got was basically a small burger. Honestly, I’m extremely disappointed. Why keep the word “Big” in the name if the burger is no longer big? It’s smaller than a double cheeseburger now. The Big Tasty used to be large and satisfying — now it’s just a tiny bun with some sauce. The fries were another disappointment. They used to be long, crispy, and delicious. Today I received a box of short, broken pieces — dry, soggy, and looking like leftovers. It’s frustrating to see the quality drop so much. I paid for a proper Big Tasty and ended up with a downsized version and awful fries. I really hope management takes this seriously and brings back the original size and quality. Right now — a solid one star.

13/07/2025: I don't know why, but the coffee here always tastes like crap. I don't know if it is the batista or just this Starbucks as if I get the drink in another Starbucks, it tastes fantastic.

28/10/2025: Lovely place, very quiet and perfect for a coffee break. The only thing to improve would be the hot chocolate, a little lukewarm for my taste — it would be even better piping hot!

Although everything is very good – breakfast, lunch, and snacks – the competition is very high here in Cork regarding cafes and snack bars. A few years ago, you wouldn't see a cafe like this anywhere else, so to speak! Now they're everywhere. What I mean is that this cafe, called Noir, needs to create its own brand, its own specialty, so that people become interested and identify with it. I hope it stays open for a long time and I wish it the best of luck in its future endeavors.

24/07/2025: Very good coffee is drunk here with some very good snacks, although everything is very good, breakfast, lunch and snacks, the competition is very fierce here in the city of Cork in relation to cafes and snack bars. A few years ago, you didn't see a cafe, so to speak!!! Now they are everywhere. 15/10/2025: Do not go here for breakfast. Can't vouch for the evenings here or the pints. The breakfast was shocking, unfortunately one of the few places open on Sunday morning. Do yourself a favour & go Tara's instead. Everything was under or over cooked, asked for some tomatoes instead of mushrooms. They brought me a cold sliced bit of tomato. Service poor, didn't clear our table. Pumping the diddly at 10:30am, come on. The worst cup of tea I've ever been served in Ireland

13/10/2025: Staff were excellent. Bacon and cabbage was top notch. Never waiting for a pint. Beamish was exceptional. Bravo
