The best restaurants in Cork

15/09/2025: After leaving west cork early this morning and in need of a light snack 😋 I had a spiced beef sandwich on gloriously fresh bread. The native Barry's Tea to accompany my sandwich. Lovely little seats at the stall so ate and watched the world go by. Absolutely delicious food and a huge selection on display. I highly recommend. It's located within the historic English market which was rather busy so it was good to see that too.

28/08/2025: Lovely open air deli sandwich stall, seating included on the end comfortable cozy bar stools and foot rest. Wonderful staff caring attentive to orders and all ways ask how you’re doing. Would definitely come back again and again. Best sandwich’s in town 🥪🫶🏼

09/04/2026: We stayed at the Fernroyd House when attending an academic conference at UCC and we couldn't have asked for a better experience! Tony and Avril were lovely hosts, providing wonderful meals and all amenities. The location and ease of arrival from Cork Kent was quick by bus and we were in a very central location near to anything we needed. I would absolutely stay here again in the future. Thank you so very much!

09/08/2025: Food and Coffee was nice. What was brilliant was the service from Jess ( I believe her name was). She was very welcoming and kind. Atmosphere in the place was nice and chill too.

01/04/2026: Absolutely amazing food 😍 At a good central location. Big portions for a good price. Shisha is nice as well, no tobacco of course so not too strong. Service was good and just a lovely setting in general! Came in with a party of 6 and we all loved our meals

16/01/2026: Wow, I cannot recommend this place enough. I didn’t get our waitress’ name but she was blonde and she went above and beyond for us. She was so welcoming, attentive and helpful. The food was 10/10.

23/11/2025: Don't go here if you're hungry. Went here during the week, was met by extremely small plates, very expensive for what you get, zero presentation and little to no flavour. The place itself is lovely and has a lovely vibe, but we had to go elsewhere for food after we left. Won't ever be returning for food.

28/10/2025: Lovely place, very quiet and perfect for a coffee break. The only thing to improve would be the hot chocolate, a little lukewarm for my taste — it would be even better piping hot!

23/10/2025: I ordered the Falafel Wrap- the salad and the vegetables were stale and when I informed the staff they couldn’t care less. Would never recommend. 0/10

06/03/2026: The food is good but the tiny portions at an expensive price spoil the whole experience. Very very mean considering 90% of the food is vegetables.

13/02/2026: I get food from here regularly and food is always lovely and fresh but when I went to pay it was 50c more than usual and I always get the same thing. I didn’t question I just paid and looked after and I was overcharged (i checked Deliveroo as well) I know it’s only small but I have found this recently around cork places they put on these little charges hoping no one will notice and it all adds up. It’s already expensive enough without adding secret charges

23/11/2025: Saying it's the worst coffee of my life is a compliment because I call it coffee.

16/11/2025: I really like the coffee and the pastries. I am in love with the lemon pie and the pistachio cone. The staff is always cheerful and polite, which makes the experience even better. The only thing I would point out is to be a bit more careful with special requests. More than once I asked for a cappuccino with oat milk and received regular milk instead. Even so, I always come back because mistakes happen and I genuinely like not only the coffee but also the people. 😊

07/03/2026: Sliced has been in Ballincollig for years and it was lovely. I don’t know what’s happened the place. The food is not like before and the service… Went there after school as my daughter had a play date. It was empty, obviously not peak time but they have a good deal on the kids menu of 3 courses for €11.95 with a capri sun. We got our food and then didn’t see the waitress again. I had to ask for the table to be cleared because literally no one came down to see how we were getting on or see if we wanted anything else. Then my daughter and her friend had to go find someone to get their desserts. The staff couldn’t give a sugar that we were there. Then to top it all off, I dealt with a gentleman named Gary who said he was the manager, he overcharged me and when I brought it up, he got super defensive acting as if I was attacking him, basically threw his staff under a bus, weird carry on man. Won’t be back anytime soon which is a shame as I loved their pizza.

14/02/2026: Came in here on a rainy valentines day as we were looking for something substantial and tasty. We got both. Excellent food, quick service and reasonably priced. Would highly recommend.
