14/02/2026: Came in here on a rainy valentines day as we were looking for something substantial and tasty. We got both. Excellent food, quick service and reasonably priced. Would highly recommend.

01/09/2025: Only takeaway cups despite having seating inside and outside. That's enough to put me off but the quality of the coffee has declined too.

26/09/2025: We loved to go to Dashi and it was our go-to takeaway in COVID times. I ordered for collection on a Thursday evening at 7pm, half of the sushi options were gone and the curry and udon noodle dishes (or at least parts thereof) were heated in a microwave, and it still took them 25 minutes to put the order together. The dishes lacked veggies and where mediocre at best, and I couldn't finish the seaweed salad. Very disappointed.

18/09/2025: Visited the place just for the first time, as I saw they have a lot of great reviews, and variety of options, but unfortunately were disappointed, as many of the ingredients weren’t just included. They show in the menu that the sushi has variety of ingredients, and a lot of interesting stuff like: asparagus, chive, chilli powder, and so, but unfortunately they just used instead of the asparagus the curcumber, and we had no chives or chilli powder, although we should have had😟 Also the trout sushi we had was half raw/and half cooked👀

16/02/2026: Used to be an old haunt of mine. Fab coffee and hot chocolate. I still hope they do the loyalty cards

30/11/2025: I had heard good things but I was really disappointed. Friends had the chicken and I had the beef birra. Food wasn’t hot. Everything lacked flavour, the tacos were neither soft nor hard.

29/10/2025: Second time here and it's just such a fun place to go! My friend's absolute go-to for when she has visitors and I completely get why! In the summer they open the front window and you get a nice breeze. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is great.

13/01/2026: " Satisfying the truly hungry in Cork Since 1970" may be change that you can't satisfy my hunger except you give me a bigger portion size next time. Lolz. Also wondering what do you do with the leftovers as I hate food being wasted. Thank you for the hospitality. Nice staff but plz do review your portion size because nothing can help me with hunger.Giving you 5 stars because of my first post dinner after a breakup. Xxx

28/07/2025: Came to Cork to watch Michael McIntyre @ The Marquee. There was a food hall called The Black Market near the venue so we went there. We needed either vegetarian or a halal food. There was a smash burger place which we really wanted to try but there were no burgers left, the burger stall directed us to Dips. We were not disappointed. We ordered a Korean chicken dish, 2 x Malaysian chicken noodles and a beef curry. The food was fantastic. Good portion sizes and was very tasty. The service was fantastic. Good variety of dishes to choose from. A touch expensive but feel Cork is an expensive place. Highly recommend.

15/07/2025: The Massaman curry was very good and I did expect that considering the crew are from Malaysia. Other items are good as well and the seafood seemed fresh. One thing I did not like is the serving bowls, it is quite hard to eat from it. Hope they can change it to something tried and tested. Overall would recommend for east Asian food in the black market.

21/01/2026: Customer service was medicore, server was talking over me as I was ordering. Upstairs resembled a college canteen, with tables taken up with laptops etc. Most hadnt even food or drink ! Seen a lot of people with trays have to go back downstairs because of no seating, Most disturbing thing was one Customer right beside me brushing her hair over the table, wasn't entirely hygienic eating with hair flying about. Thumbs down wont be returning 👎 I'd be giving no stars if that was an option.

05/12/2025: This place is open late and offers both DJ sets and live music. It also has some heated outdoor seating. It's a great place to meet cool people.

06/01/2026: This is a lively pub, especially if you’re into live music—it’s definitely worth checking out. On weekends, it gets busy and energetic, with a great buzz. If you prefer a calmer, more relaxed evening, weekdays are the way to go. The place itself is huge, with plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors, so there’s usually space no matter when you visit.

18/06/2025: I was genuinely shocked by what I witnessed at Gym Plus Cork in Mahon Point during my recent visit. A female member was working out in what was essentially a bikini bra and shorts so short and see-through that her private areas were clearly visible as she walked around and during squats. This level of exposure is completely inappropriate for any public gym, and it created an uncomfortable atmosphere for others, myself included. Even more disturbing was the fact that there were adolescents present at the time. In my view, this goes beyond poor judgement — it amounts to public indecency, and I believe the Gardaí should be made aware. Gym Plus urgently needs to enforce a clear and reasonable dress code to ensure a respectful, safe, and professional environment for all members, including families and young people. This kind of negligence is unacceptable.
