The best restaurants in Cork

09/11/2025: It has to be a hardworking Chinese person. There aren't many places offering food by 2 PM. The owner repeatedly confirmed that the menu was only in English, was that okay? I ordered pad thai with beef. I also ordered fried shrimp cakes as a snack, such a familiar taste. The pad thai was a modified version, but it was still pretty good. After all, to cater to locals, the flavors need to be adjusted; if it's too authentic, it won't be successful. The owner was also very friendly and chatted a lot. I wish her great success in her business.

30/10/2025: The worst Thai green curry ever. Ate a small portion but didn’t like it at all. Ended up in d bathroom more than ever since eating it (tmi). My son took a spoon full of it and spit it out into d bin. Rang them they didn’t care. Won’t be having it ever again 🤮 disgusting. Hopefully will feel better tomorrow..,,🫩 as u can see all d food is in bin 🤢

01/09/2025: Only takeaway cups despite having seating inside and outside. That's enough to put me off but the quality of the coffee has declined too.

27/10/2025: Excellent Chinese. I'm not from Cork, stumbled across Noodlee Mahon. Friendly staff, more importantly the food was very good. Most bad reviews seem to surround the delivery time, didn't impact me I was in the shop. I'd 100% recommend and will return if I'm back down that way.

15/09/2025: We ordered take away few days ago and it was delicious, my wife got vegetarian chicken cow main and I got black bean chicken. Food was great, delivery less than 30min. Will order again for sure

13/10/2025: Stopped by The Glass House at the Montenotte Hotel in Cork for drinks, and it’s exactly the kind of spot you want on a sunny afternoon. The view is incredible especially if you sit outside, you can see almost the entire city, which makes for the perfect backdrop. 🌞🍹 I went with a cocktail and a small plate, and both were delightful well-made, refreshing, and perfect for a leisurely sip while taking in the view. The staff were attentive and friendly, making the experience even more enjoyable. Overall, it’s a great spot for drinks with a view. Nothing over the top just good drinks, stunning scenery, and a relaxed atmosphere. 12/10/2025: My favorite takeaway sushi spot, a must stop every time we visit Cork, right in the heart of the English Market. So many choices of sushi to choose. I also really loved their poke bowl. Very affordable. Highly recommended.

22/09/2025: Early morning brekkie on a Sunday. Just off W. Plunkett St. Small and busy but worth queueing. Food is varied and excellent.

11/11/2025: We stopped for a pint and were struck by the warm and festive atmosphere. The live music is a unique touch! The vintage items make the place truly special!

08/11/2025: I’m writing this to say that I am very disappointed by the security/ door staff. I’ve been to this pub many times as the live music is always a hit. Myself and my friends (with me being the only asian) went in yesterday around 7pm. We had no issues going in, ids checked, everything was fine, 30minutes- an hour later, me and my boyfriend decided to go and get some pizza across the way. We came back less than 10 minutes later to a different bouncer being on the door and he refused entry with no reason. We are both over 18, with valid ids. I had left my bag and coat along with other personal belongings inside with my other friends and was told I was not allowed go retrieve them because the bouncer did “not believe we were already inside”. We ended up giving out friends a call, and they brought out stuff out and we all left. But by reading other reviews it’s clear that they are biased towards Asian people. I am very disappointed by this behaviour. Especially since it not only happened to me, but other people. It’s discriminatory behaviour.

26/09/2025: We loved to go to Dashi and it was our go-to takeaway in COVID times. I ordered for collection on a Thursday evening at 7pm, half of the sushi options were gone and the curry and udon noodle dishes (or at least parts thereof) were heated in a microwave, and it still took them 25 minutes to put the order together. The dishes lacked veggies and where mediocre at best, and I couldn't finish the seaweed salad. Very disappointed.

18/09/2025: Visited the place just for the first time, as I saw they have a lot of great reviews, and variety of options, but unfortunately were disappointed, as many of the ingredients weren’t just included. They show in the menu that the sushi has variety of ingredients, and a lot of interesting stuff like: asparagus, chive, chilli powder, and so, but unfortunately they just used instead of the asparagus the curcumber, and we had no chives or chilli powder, although we should have had😟 Also the trout sushi we had was half raw/and half cooked👀
