The best restaurants in Cork

21/10/2024: I was in Cork for a day trip and came across The Pie Guys in the black market totally by accident. Situated in a really cool building with other food vendors I was immediately impressed by the vibe of the market . More importantly in The Pie Guys ,the Cheesy kiwi Pie, mash and slaw was the best pie and mash i have ever had !The presentation and taste were top class. You have to try this place, you won’t be disappointed.I look forward to visiting again on my next visit to Cork : )

17/08/2024: I’ve been waiting to sample these pies for a long time, ever since I heard to pie enthusiasts and specialists were cooking something up. Not living in Cork it’s taking me time to get here and it was well worth the wait. Delicious pies, perfect crusts and top mash, coleslaw and pickles. Very ample portion size. A must visit in Cork, Black Market or English Market. Loved the vibe of the Black Market. Tim and Jamie are onto something good. Thanks Pie Guys

08/09/2024: I ordered home delivery from max bite it was fantastic! The pizza arrived hot, fresh and full of flavor. Delivery was so fast I highly recommend 👍

28/08/2024: Great spot. Coffee is great, the selection of cakes and pastries here are up there with the best I’ve come across in Cork. So delicious! Admittedly, I had previously given it a 5 star review but can’t justify it after over a year or more of the same experience with being served - It must be said that the service and wait time is agonisingly slow, attributable to to system in place which forces customers into a narrow doorway which immediately leads directly on top of the counter - this cannot accommodate any form of queue more than 2 people. Nobody else can then enter the shop and get served until the previous customer collects their coffee and leaves. It doesn’t take away from the quality, but it’s very poorly thought out and management have never done anything about it Surprised a coffee hatch hasn’t opened by now out one of the windows for example

14/10/2024: Very welcoming bar cosy and traditional. Great atmosphere love the place, drink good and reasonable priced. Bus stop outside the door so no worry's about transport. Highly recommend.

30/10/2024: I can't share the positive reviews. We booked 5 nights there and as a thank you we were given a very old-fashioned room with mold in the bathroom. Everything looked different when we booked. After complaining, we were allowed to change - to an identical room with a little less mold. There were only lamps in the room (one of them broken) with dark lampshades - no ceiling light - which is why it was always dark in the room. The room was on the ground floor and you could easily see the bed from the parking lot. The heating knocked at night and it was still always cold. Of course there was no air conditioning either. We will not be returning to the Montenotte Hotel and feel it was an expensive experience... The Motion Health Club, the panoramic restaurant and the spa are really good, hence still 3 stars.

26/10/2024: We requested early checkin, and even on a very busy weekend we got it! Staff are so friendly and helpful. Could not recommend this place more! A walk up a big hill to get here but taxis and buses are easily available.

16/10/2024: Had for first time last Friday, just happened the be in Cork for medical visit and call by and had a fabulous pizza again. Wood fired, little char, great ingredients, warn atmosphere! Well worth a visit. Umm

06/09/2024: It was really good the first time but okayish the second time. It's hit and miss

20/10/2024: Food was gorgeous. Ordered beef burger and it came with fries, dipping sauces and side salad. Burger was delicious, same with fries, probably one of the best burgers I had in Cork. Pickled side salad was ok but it was not my cup of tea, would swap it for something else. And their pickles - heaven! I love pickles and this one was perfect - crunchy and juicy. Staff is welcoming and friendly, and place has a nice cosy atmosphere. I found it a little bit expensive though - but can’t complain, food was delicious.

21/10/2024: Stopped off while walking dogs on greenway flat white sitting in sun nothing like it.

19/10/2024: Wonderful coffee, welcoming staff and a fab place to dine in or takeaway.

10/10/2024: Great traditional session when we were there. We got a table with a local and outlasted him to close it down! Find out when they have a session night and go!

30/09/2024: A local bar in Kinsale with Irish music. Did not eat there but went for the music and fun with our fellow travelers. It was a good evening.

27/10/2024: Manager in there now is an absolute disgrace. The way he treats his staff is vile. You can feel the tension in the air inside there. What a shame, years ago it used to be a pleasant experience. You'd be wise to spend your money somewhere the staff are treated with respect.

25/10/2024: Stephen and I both ordered the Fish n Chips box. The fish was good, but they give you more of the chips than fish. I did not like the soupy coleslaw and it had no flavor or seasoning added. The portion size was generous.

12/10/2024: Lovely pizza but was told upon ordering it would take 15minutes but took 3 times that(45 minutes). Once pizza meal deal was received we realised when leaving the garlic bread that was included in the €29.95 meal deal was missing. The reasoning was the meal deal that was shown on the screen was one that they no longer had anymore although let us order it in the first place.

08/08/2024: Best pizza ( from a fast food outlet) I've had in ages. Had sworn off Dominos after a bland, dry pizza from one in Crumlin nearly 2 years ago, but I'm back on the Dominos train. Will be back.

14/10/2024: American tourists in Ireland - this was definitely more “American” feel but just what we were looking for to watch the NFL games. Pulled pork nachos were amazing. Great atmosphere and would recommend!

04/10/2024: The worst food I have ever eaten in my whole life, I wish I had never gone there, the beer was watery, I wish I had told you at the time but I was so disappointed I couldn't, it was my boyfriend's birthday, I tried to take him somewhere nice and it was simply the worst food we've ever had, we couldn't even eat to be honest. We spent €60 and we had one of the worst experiences of our lives.
