The best restaurants in Cork

09/01/2025: Been here twice. Lovely Victorian greenhouse set up as cafe. Very good value for money. Greenery around you and fab view of northside.Had a soup and sandwich. Very nice and decent amount. Sandwich wasn't your skinny stuff you get in lots of places. Proper sandwich. Not much parking at all. Better on foot if possible. But worth it. They even give you blankets in winter. It is a greenhouse but heaters also. Definitely return.

24/09/2024: Lovely oasis in the city. Great for kids with an enclosed garden, animals and a small playground.

17/04/2025: 17.04.25 @ 21:15ish Got food from the drive through to go. Staff verbally got both orders wrong and had to have it repeated to her several times. Still didn't understand, nearly had to ask for a different staff member. Got a large veggie burger meal with chips and with fanta, no ice. Got a fanta with ice, cold veggie burger, drink with EXTRA ice and no chips. Paid +€26 in total for half an order. Awful experience, staff impossible to communicate with. Do not recommend if you want to receive the correct order or if you don't have the patience to continue repeating yourself.

24/03/2025: Had lunch there with work colleagues it was fast efficient pleasant food .the staff were friendly. Very clean premises

08/03/2025: Excellent facilities, courts are well maintained. Site has bar facilities, gym, tennis courts and squash courts

10/12/2024: 1st time in Jack Fordes right next to the Shandon Clock tower! It's an old style Irish bar for more older Customers but a good pint of Guinness here! Good honest prices too. No frills just and old fashioned wet bar for a pint and watch some sport on Tvs there!

01/03/2025: The food is not cheap, but the portions are too small. 27.5 A beef tenderloin roasted with green onions is probably worth at least 25% more for the same price in the Netherlands. The beef is not chewy, 27.5 should at least use some American or Uruguayan beef.

01/03/2025: Very good Chinese restaurant, one of the best in Cork. Been there for 10+ years. Menu is a little expensive though.

12/04/2025: The Southern Star is a lovely little bar. A small front pub area with some secluded tables, an area towards the back with ledges against the wall, a pool table (with terrible cues,) and a nice smoking area sitting above the South Link. It’s a little on the expensive side but what you pay for the booze is more than made up for with the atmosphere and setting. They were happy for me to taste the wine (a Pinot noir) while a woman I met there that night was only delighted to let me taste her rosé. Both wines were superb and it’s telling the people were relaxed enough straight from my arrival to share their drinks. They had the Manchester United game on the TV and I’m sure they show the rugby as well. I was hungry and asked for some Scampi Fries but they didn’t have them. Instead they gave me a free bag of Snax. Some friends (one a Jameson drinker) are interested in going, too, and I told them the burgers looked exceptional value. The only questions are when the food truck is open, if they do chips, and the whiskey drinker wanted to know if you get chips with your burger? I think she wants to dip into her partner’s grub... A warm and cosy bar — with space for a smoke if needed — it’s a pub I’d love to take my nearly seventy year old mother to to watch a Munster game, or my buddies who need a break from their kids (or they could bring their kids knowing it’s a fine family friendly place.) Me Mam would definitely love it and my buddies already do; as did I on my night in there. Patti Smith and Black Sabbath playing on the speakers was just the icing on the cake, me bopping away! I’ll be back, if they’ll have me!

The hampers were beautifully presented and filled with an exceptional selection of Irish and French produce.
