04/12/2025: Beautiful gem of a cafe in the centre of Cork city! Stunning crockery, decor and atmosphere inside and outside the cafe in a quiet mall. But most of all, clearly the nicest hot chocolate I have ever tasted! The cakes are also very tasty and the staff is very kind and pleasant. Great place to stop by when Christmas shopping. Looking forward to call again...

21/07/2026: Sourdough is excellent here. A true mark of a great bread is that you can eat it by itself. Jalapeño and cheddar SD is an icon.

30/05/2026: I was at this bar with friends to celebrate a birthday. While we were seated outside a lady came to the outdoor area asking for money. When we told her no she procedeed to use derogatory language in the faces of impalas customers. This all of happened directly infront of the security staff. The lady noticed the bouncer and aproached him with a hug which the security staff reciprocated. Then the lady kept going across the tables and left her beer can on our table. This was notified to a staff member who recommended to leave the can on our table in case she came back. The staff member was worried in case she came back to find her beer can was not there and this would make her angry. As a result, we ended up minding her beer can until we left. The fact they allowed people to just walk up to their customers asking for money and being disrespecful towards their clients made me feel very unconfortable. This all happened infront of the bouncer.

24/06/2026: Not nearly as good as it used to be. Ordered a glass of fresh orange juice and was presented with very watery overly sugary cheap ''juice''. It tasted like orange cordial. Asked the very young waitress if it was actually orange juice and she replied in a very miserable manner ''that's apple juice.'' then she realised it was in fact the ''orange'' juice they sell and it had come straight from a carton. I'd never even seen the brand they're using before. Food was very average, lacking in flavour and finesse. Portion sizes have been very pared back - and the prices have risen a lot. The same waitress kept ignoring us every time we tried to catch her eye - she saw us gesturing and just avoided eye contact. We saw another customer repeatedly ask for service only to be ignored. The barista was also ignoring customers. With so many other great eateries in Bantry on offer, De Barras simply isn't in the same league anymore. It used to be our favourite place to eat before they closed & reopened. Such a shame.

31/07/2026: Sad that swoon isn’t the same anymore !!! Had a super rude customer experience when I visited them again recently! They were so so scanty with the portions of the toppings ! I literally said to the lady making my sundae that she could add more toppings but she just pushed the sundae into me saying this is the basic serving size . Very disappointed and I would never visit Swoon again and I’m sad that my usual favourite spot is now ruined because of some rude staff .

28/05/2026: Came with a tour bus. Even though they knew we were coming, they were not prepared. The two servers had no idea where to take it. Only options for the pub were pizza or salad.

18/05/2026: I had a fantastic stay at Cork's Vienna woods hotel. The hotel is beautiful. The rooms are very spacious. There is a restaurant and bar at the hotel. I really enjoyed the location of the hotel.

06/07/2026: Very convenient place to bring a laptop and work from, comfortable seatings, plenty of plug sockets. Almost importantly the staffs are super friendly!

26/06/2026: Been a regular in this cafe for 3 years now. Always great food, immaculate, friendly service, fair prices. Great place to come with friends or to park up and study.
