16/10/2025: The Allihies Copper Mine Museum is a small but extremely informative museum – lovingly designed and full of fascinating insights into the history of copper mining in this region. The exhibition is presented in a modern style and impressively conveys how hard and deprived the lives of the miners once were. The personal atmosphere is particularly pleasant: you can feel the dedication with which the museum is run. The location in the picturesque village of Allihies, surrounded by impressive coastal scenery, also makes a visit a special experience. A small, yet exquisite museum that should not be missed – highly recommended!

16/03/2026: Travelled down for a meetup for the Irishmags, nice welcome in pub. Pints were lovely especially Murphy's. We got platters of food and it was excellent , chicken wings amazing

15/03/2026: Nice bar a bit off the beaten track in Cork but well worth a visit. Great pint of Beamish and they show live sport. They do great food but we didn't get to try it.

02/07/2026: We had our Summer Party here just last weekend. Just wanted to share what amazing hosts Goldbergs were to us. Food was incredible and atmosphere was second to none. Thank you to everyone at Goldbergs for making our night what is was. We will definitely be back next summer. Pat and everyone at Alpha Automation.

21/06/2026: Went here for a drink at 7.30pm on sat evening before Zach Bryan concert. We must have hit it when there was a lull. Nobody was waiting for a drink at counter. Yet the bar lady was so rude. Service and quality was severely compromised. It was a bad start to our evening.

05/06/2026: I recently stayed at The Address Hotel in Cork and I can't praise it enough! It's a beautiful, typically Irish hotel, full of charm and in a fantastic location in the heart of Cork. The rooms are spacious, tastefully decorated, and offer all modern amenities. On our first evening, we had a minor technical issue in our room, but the hotel staff were incredibly helpful. We were immediately given a different room, and from then on, everything was perfect. We also spent an evening in the hotel bar – it was really lovely, the atmosphere is simply wonderful. And from the balcony, we had a breathtaking view of the city. An absolute 5-star experience – I'd love to come back!

05/06/2026: A "historic" and therefore somewhat dated hotel. The room was okay, though. Friendly staff. Oddly, the reception wanted to charge €30 per hour for an early check-in when we called. We didn't pay. The room was already ready, so there was no extra charge for checking in. It's a 15-minute walk to town. Okay.

29/10/2025: Very icy staff constantly bickering at each other. Saw rats around back of shop with open door!!! If you have any self respect, avoid this over priced deli counter. There's a spar down the road that does a nicer munch for a quarter of the price

16/03/2026: Absolutely obsessed with these mini-donuts at Marina Market! They are fried to order, so they arrive hot, fresh, and delicious. The staff is super kind and the atmosphere at the market is always 10/10. A must-visit if you have a sweet tooth in Cork! 🍩🔥

07/07/2026: Pizzas used to be good here. Further details: I collected the pizza on the local, despite arriving before pizza was cooked and taking it straight away when it came from kitchen, the pizza it wasn't even hot, just slightly warm. The ingredients were scarce, too little of everything in the middle of the pizza and a bit untasty. The pizza dough wasn't cooked, it was raw. I got home less than 5 minutes from the local and I had to put the pizza into the oven and add more cheese and mushrooms after taking two bites. This is second time in a recent time we have a bad experience, a few years ago this place was top for pizza, now it is a big no no. I would say pizza level is about low quality random frozen pizza from supermarket. The staff is always nice and atmosphere is nice and clean, plenty of place to go with family.

25/06/2026: Personally I don't like pizza. But saying that people I know say it's lovely and apart from that the staff are friendly and well mannered. The place is very clean. A bit pricey. Ain't that the sign of the times.

03/07/2026: Delicious, balanced flavours. Very fresh, wait time was prompt. Didn't hold back on portion size, good variety of food on their menu. Nice amount of meats in both curries, 5 star delicious. A must try, delighted we did.

04/06/2026: Amazing experience at Sultans Today. Food was delicious especially the kofta and highly recommended it! The owner was very friendly and attentive towards us and made sure we had an excellent evening. Atmosphere was nice including the music and the setting was beautiful. Definitely will be going back again!

03/06/2026: I visited Sultan Restaurant for the first time today with my wife and daughter. While the restaurant appears well-maintained and the overall infrastructure creates a positive first impression, our experience unfortunately did not live up to those expectations. From the moment we arrived, we did not feel particularly welcomed. The service came across as indifferent and lacked the warmth and attentiveness that one would expect when dining with family. Although the presentation of the food was reasonably good, the quality itself was disappointing. The taste was average at best, and the freshness of several dishes seemed below the standard one would expect from a reputable restaurant. Overall, the experience fell short in both hospitality and food quality. Given the combination of underwhelming service and unimpressive cuisine, this visit did not leave a positive impression. Regrettably, what was intended to be a pleasant family outing will likely be our first and last visit.
