The best restaurants in Dublin

22/12/2025: Have eaten here many times and unfortunately Iv had to change my reviews from 5 stars to 2 stars. The food is as good as always. The service leaves a lot to be desired. We arrived for our booking at 8.45pm on time and made feel we were an inconvenience because of our late booking. Our order was rushed and our food arrived at the table very quickly. After ordering the €45 steak I asked for more sauce, I was told the kitchen closed at 9pm and they had dumped the remaining sauce.

21/12/2025: It’s been over 25 years since I was last here and it didn’t disappoint. Service was great, atmosphere was splendid and the food was delicious. Highly recommend the duck. Sorry about the lack of pictures, but it was that good I was just focused on eating.

06/12/2025: Great atmosphere for a few drinks, friendly staff and customers. ABIT pricey but nothing out of the ordinary for the area.

14/11/2025: I was very disappointed with my stay at the Clayton Hotel Ballsbridge. First of all, the photos of the rooms online are misleading and do not reflect reality at all. The room I received looked nothing like the pictures. It was not clean — the floor was dirty, and there was dust everywhere. Another unpleasant surprise was that you have to pay to borrow an umbrella, which I find unacceptable for a hotel in this price range. The biggest letdown, however, was the gym. The photo on the website shows a large, modern facility, but the reality couldn’t be more different. The “gym” is basically a tiny 3x3m room with one treadmill, a squeaky cross trainer, and almost no other equipment. Completely misleading. Overall, I would not stay here again and cannot recommend this hotel.

15/12/2025: Amazing bar/restaurant/coffee shop but the rooms even though they were clean,were small,with nowhere to hang clothes or leave luggage and sink water was either cold or hot. Do not stay at the hotel if you want to sleep and get some rest.One of the noisiest places I’ve ever stayed at and it wasn’t even close to the center of the town.Staff was amazing!Excellent people.

01/12/2025: For Thanksgiving each year, The Back Page has run a "free pizza with an American ID" promotion, which always turned into a nice Thanksgiving tradition for this homesick American. I really enjoyed it last year and suggested The Back Page to several of my friends. I was really excited about it this year but when I arrived at the till I was told that I am not eligible for a free pizza because I did not book a table (even though we had a table to sit at). This was not the case last year and this was not indicated anywhere in the promotion's terms. This was embarrassing for me and my friends and we will not be returning.

27/11/2025: I had the absolute misfortune of ordering a pizza and a side here, and what followed was one of the most frustrating dining experiences I have ever had. Over an hour passed with no food in sight. When I asked the first waitress, she literally had no idea what to do. The second said she would check and then vanished completely. The third promised to get it immediately, only to eventually return with the wrong pizza, which she then took away again. When the correct pizza finally arrived much later, it was carelessly thrown into a cardboard takeaway box even though I was eating in. My side order was still missing. I had to go back out to the counter to chase it, at which point yet another waitress told me to ask someone else. This was despite the fact that the restaurant was not even busy. When I asked the girl who brought me the pizza, she dismissed me and claimed that the sides come from a different part of the building, which made absolutely no sense. On my way back to my table, I asked another waitress who told me it was her first day and that she would check. I then watched her walk past my table multiple times without ever giving me an update. I spent over an hour and a half dealing with this ridiculous back and forth for what turned out to be completely mediocre food. I never even received the side I ordered. To make matters worse, the drink ordered by the person I was with never arrived either. The service was unprofessional, disinterested and dismissive throughout. I left annoyed and genuinely shocked that a restaurant can operate with such a lack of basic standards. I have never felt the need to write a review before, but this was so bad that I feel obligated to warn others. Avoid this place at all costs. I will not be returning and I strongly advise that you do not make the same mistake I did.

08/10/2025: The restaurant itself is good, but the customer service really needs improvement. One of the staff members — apparently a Mexican guy — tends to speak and say “thank you” by shouting, which is very uncomfortable. This isn’t the first time it has happened, so it seems to be a recurring issue. There’s a clear lack of manners and tact when dealing with customers, because shouting “thank you” isn’t the same as being friendly. It comes across as rude and even a bit arrogant. It would be great if the restaurant could provide better guidance to the staff on how to communicate properly with customers.

16/08/2025: The male staff is terrible at his job. Ignored us, didn't take orders untill we waiting for a long time and went and called. Then he got 3 orders wrong and we had to correct him each time and call again. The drinks are average, cakes don't look like pictures. They never pick up their phone for reservations and have 3 different numbers on the website.

12/08/2025: I have come to this place thrice till now and the first time I had a great experience but the last two experiences I had, have pushed me to write a negative review. To clear it before I say anything else, the staff are nice and warm- whatever policies they say are the management's doing as the staff don't make those rules. All the things I say here are constructive criticism only. 1. I wish the place had a sign to ask customers politely not to move their tables once assigned and about the €7.5 minimum spend per person. Even in their menus you have to really look for it, it could've been the first page you see when you opened the menu book. 2. The last two times they've been "Cash Only" which can be inconvenient for a lot of people as me and a lot of people I know never carry cash. 3. I've noticed all the food options are mid for the price point but the teas are very good. Sadly they use AI generated images in their menus for the cakes and stuff which is very sad to see as this is very misleading. The cakes look nothing like the images which would've been okay if they weren't such a dear price. Because of these three reasons above I won't be coming back to this place unless they visibly change the above-mentioned points or the management. I wish them all the best.

23/08/2025: Anytime I get to visit Dalkey, I head to Pepperlaine for the best cappuccino and tasty treat to fuel me up for the day browsing around this lively village. I’m looking forward to popping in over the Lobster festival for my caffeine fix and the chance to pick up a great locally sourced gift for an upcoming birthday while I’m there.

20/03/2025: Excellent cafe. Very tasty sandwiches beautifully presented. Delicious cakes. Good coffee. Friendly and efficient service. Recommended.

10/12/2025: Enzos on 87 Parnell Street, Dublin 1, where a closure order was imposed on 28 November, an inspector found that food was not kept at the correct temperatures, and lettuce was being kept in dirty and defective containers. Food was also stored incorrectly, with the inspector noting in their report, that the restaurant was “holding food in open trays and containers throughout the premises in areas that have not been designated for that purpose” It reminds closed to this day.
