The best restaurants in Dublin

19/07/2025: Four of us went there for dinner. It was a Thursday evening. It was a truly delightful experience. The waitress was welcoming, clarified any doubts we had in relation to the menu, explained dishes, talked about the ingredients,... And all that with kindness, patience and a smile. We all agreed that the food not only looked amazing (beautifully presented), it was delicious!!! Lately, I have experienced that, although some restaurants may have nice food, you barely get to enjoy it or enjoy the company of the person you're with. Once you sit down, the clock starts ticking and when time is over you're presented with the bill. Wine is overpriced and often served incorrectly (too warm or filling the glasses too fast in order to get you to buy another bottle). Thankfully, none of that happened here!!! I enjoyed being out with my friends, trying delicious dishes new to us. Having a relaxed dinner and catching up without being interrupted or rushed out. I will certainly go back and I'd recommend it for the quality of the food and the service!

18/12/2025: Were there on a Sunday night. Guy behind the bar was very pushy for us to order two wing deals when we only wanted one to start with. We overheard him instruct the kitchen staff to make our buffalo wing portion extra, extra spicy, and that we had asked for that - we hadn't - and called us names to the kitchen staff that I won't repeat here. He clearly didn't realise we could hear him, he did seem a bit drunk. I regularly eat very hot sauces with Carolina Reaper or ghost chilli, but the portion we got was extremely hot and borderline inedible. Not blaming the kitchen staff at all, they seemed like they didn't want to make the dish so spicy, but the bar man pushed them to do it. When we asked him if he had ordered them extra hot for us he made up some BS story about other customers complaining that they used to be too mild, and that's why they are now hotter, etc. Very disrespectful and hostile way to treat your customers. None of us will ever be back.

30/11/2025: Lovely vibe! Not much of loud music soo if you want to get together with friends and have conversations over a pint, definitely the place!

26/08/2025: Changed the menu, increased the prices. Once a great place to get normal sandwiches, not anymore sad...i had been loyal customer because of their blt's (bacon lettuce tomatoes not bell peppers and onions at leats i would have liked to be told it changed so I could ask without...)

19/05/2025: I’ve visited this café a couple of times. The atmosphere is generally nice and quiet, but unfortunately, one of the staff members (the male employee) comes across as quite unfriendly and lacking in warmth. A more welcoming and approachable attitude would really improve the customer experience. Small details like this can make a big difference. I hope this feedback is taken into consideration and leads to better service in the future. I don’t know if he’s sleepy since it’s a morning or maybe he has some problems with work… please do something about that

29/12/2025: I come here regularly and love the menu and variety but I’ve ordered soup on 3 different occasions and its extremely over salted!! Also music is way too loud.

22/02/2026: Oh my god what happened to the menu! There is next to nothing on it and it’s not cheap! I sent my daughter over with a friend and they no longer take cash! She had to walk out. Ridiculous! Come on management this used to be a great place. Now I’m sat here and it’s empty. Not another soul in the place. I live locally and for sure this place is going to close.

03/03/2026: AVOID! Unless you like your Sunday Roast with more fat and grizzle than meat! The Dublin food scene, with a few exceptions, is ordinary at best and Ashton’s is yet another example that fits that mold. Serving food like this shows zero pride and highlights an unprofessional chef/kitchen staff.

22/10/2025: Bought cake from here and the quality was excellent. It was very tasty and fresh. They were so quick to get it ready as well.

06/10/2025: 5 stars. We ordered an ube cake for my son’s first birthday on very short notice, and they absolutely delivered! The cake was soft, moist, and so delicious everyone loved it. Thank you for making his special day even sweeter!

02/12/2025: Vibrant food market with a welcoming, communal atmosphere. It’s lively yet not chaotic, allowing visitors to explore comfortably. The variety of food stalls, casual seating and upbeat energy make it a perfect spot for quick bites or a relaxed afternoon of tasting and wandering.

27/01/2026: Picked up some bao buns and bubble team while I was walking by. The honeydew bubble tea was DELICIOUS - absolute 10/10. The bao buns were good and we got a great deal on them. Perfect for a little pick me up and then we had some leftovers we were able to have later that night! Definitely worth a visit if you're looking for some comfort food in the Temple Bar area.

08/09/2025: My first encounter with Ireland. Excellent atmosphere, breakfast and staff. They didn't make any problem with my request for a chair and an ashtray. The food was very good and reasonably priced.

18/01/2026: Food was lovely and hot. There was a lot of variety on the menu. Very friendly service. Down side the place was freezing so we didn't stay for desert or coffee.

07/12/2025: Worst food ive had in Dublin and im a Dub. The steak in the beef and Guinness stew was totally inedible lumps of rubber and this cost €20, thats unacceptable really. The gujons consisted of 4 pieces of hard chicken and few dry chips. It was very disappointing because we were enjoying the pub until then. I told the server and he just said "sorry about that." We left hungry broke and rather angry

24/01/2026: Nice food, little veg (even though explicitly stated on the menu). The chips could have been fried slightly longer. Portion size is decent, but men will probably need to order a side with it. Atmosphere is good, sports were visible from all booths. Service was friendly. Good traditional pub.

22/10/2025: We visited Olives Garden with our daughter and our dog. Lovely outdoor seating, family-friendly atmosphere, and a great selection of pastries. Perfect spot to relax and enjoy the view. Great coffees
