We lived in Sandycove and I was always here from the start but moved away for 2 years and we are back in the area for good and what can I say the transformation for the greater good not that is wasn’t good, loved how is changes all the time!!
Greeted by a lovely girl working tonight made feel so welcome.
Drinks 10/10
Price 100/10 (pints €5, glass of lovely Rioja €7.50) that’s unreal..
Food 10/10
This place is genuinely unreal and to top it all off they have sauna’s…
Highly recommend to all.
Super dog friendly.

We wanted to sit upstairs, and the guy who attended us first said there were no free tables. Then he said that upstairs was only for people having dinner. I didn’t like the lack of transparency, but I understood — I thought it was a restaurant rule. So we decided to have dinner, but when we got upstairs, the Asian girl told us that the first floor was only for coffee and cakes, and there were several free tables, which we had been denied from the start.
The carbonara pasta was awful. This is not the Dolce Sicily it used to be. The staff are very rude and not suitable to work with the public. I’m not coming back and I definitely won’t recommend it.

13/10/2025: Al Khair Restaurant is located in the backyard of the Dublin Mosque in Ireland. According to the owner, it is the first halal restaurant in Ireland. Established in 1985, the menu serves home-cooked dishes adapted from Pakistani cuisine. A portion of lamb biryani costs 15 euros, a large portion that can feed two to four Indonesians. The dining area is quite spacious with plenty of tables and chairs, as well as outdoor seating. The owner, Mr. Juneid, is very friendly and serves customers quickly. Orders arrive promptly. Payments are accepted by card and cash.
13/10/2025: The Owner is very rude and he doesn't know how to talk with customers.

A wafer thin slice of ham (not much thicker than a cigarette paper)
Half a slice of tomato (also wafer thin) on each side of the sandwich, and to be perfectly honest I couldn't see, or taste any trace of cheese .
I will never again return to this establishment

04/09/2025: The food was pretty okay – not the best, but not the worst either. Prices are reasonable, not too cheap, not too expensive. I originally wanted a döner, but they didn’t have one. No big deal though, the staff made me a yufka instead, which was fine. I wouldn’t say it’s super recommendable, but it’s not bad either. There’s plenty of other options, and they even had ayran, which I thought was really cool. Overall, it’s a decent spot to grab a quick bite and chill.

14/09/2025: came here for a students night with my friends, was told it’s 3.50 drinks, which is affordable and fair for students, instead there was nothing under 4€, only a “sour apple shot”, i had to pay 7.50 for a vodka blackcurrant and 2/3 bars were out of blackcurrant

26/08/2025: had the best takeaway I’ve had in a long time from Saaep Thai! We ordered the beef black bean stir fry with chips and rice, and it was absolutely delicious. The portion sizes were really generous, the beef was cooked perfectly tender, and the vegetables were fresh and full of flavour. Everything was well balanced, not too heavy, and really satisfying. I’ll definitely be ordering again – highly recommend!
