The best restaurants in Dublin

07/03/2026: Visited this branch around 4pm today and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. My husband clearly ordered a burger as a meal. When choosing the side, we selected a half waffle / half onion rings option from the sides list. The staff member never mentioned that this option was not part of the meal, so we assumed it was included. I also told the staff that I had a reward and wanted to use it on the more expensive burger. However, when we paid, the reward was automatically applied to the cheaper burger instead. What made the situation worse was how it was handled. The manager became quite argumentative and impatient when I went back to ask about the price. Instead of explaining or helping resolve the issue, he called the staff member over and essentially had us debating about what was said during the order. We were also not shown the order before payment and were not given a receipt until I specifically went back to ask for it after noticing the price seemed wrong. Overall this felt very unprofessional and not the level of service I would expect from Eddie Rocket's.

05/03/2026: We spent two days in Dublin and both times we had to come here for dinner. I wish I'd remembered the waitress's name, because she served us both times and couldn't have been friendlier (she spoke Spanish); although I should also mention that we interacted with other members of the staff and they were all lovely. The Spice Bag is fantastic, and the prices are very reasonable.

28/11/2025: Food was okay, not bad but not good either. The staff are friendly and fast, I actually felt kinda bad for them because it was so busy.

10/08/2025: Thai chicken burger was delicious. Staff were friendly and helpful. Music was quite loud but was turned down a notch on request. Smoking area could be improved.

25/06/2025: Came here for a private event following a wedding and it was simply fantastic! Great place that ended up accommodating 60+ people. Food was BBQ style and made to order. Drinks were reasonably priced for Dublin (can be quite pricey!) however had a great selection of lagers and spirits. Had live entertainment which was not overwhelming followed by opening up of a small dance floor. Definitely a great place for a small gathering!

04/12/2025: Milk Issues!! Used to love going here for a coffee then a relaxing walk on the beach but not anymore. The number of times, usually after 12 on a Saturday or Sunday, there’s been a chalkboard sign on display saying ‘No Milk’ is becoming frustrating. I appreciate running a business is tough, managing the flow and ebb of customer demand, but I prefer my coffee with milk, not oat or soy alternatives. How can they seem to consistently run out of milk, regularly.You’d think that would be a low tide for a coffee shop. Love the people, the service and the coffee when I’m lucky enough to get one. Unfortunately, the ‘No Milk’ issue is leaving a sour taste in my mouth. Please sort it out and then I’ll be back.

05/08/2025: Part of the regular rotation and for good reason, food is consistently of good quality, staff are friendly and lovely people, and on the odd occasion there is a mistake, they are very quick to fix it, usually going above and beyond when they do. Thank you for all the lovely pizzas, and many more.

28/12/2025: Nice place, good location, lovely ambience. The food was good but elements missing. There should have been miso soup alongside two meals, which never arrived. My dessert was ice-cream with tuiles cases and berries. There were 2 blueberries! That's a disappointment. Don't bother saying berries, if you are going to serve two! Don't say you serve miso soup alongside, if you're not going to do that.

22/12/2025: Very poor experience received by management not on the ground staff. We had booked for 16 people food and karaoke - they charged us a €320 deposit for this booking, €20 euro per person which we thought was originally a bit steep! This was also not redeemable against payments on the day. We had group of 13 sit down for food, we had 3 friends that were unable to attend on the day due to illness - typical of the time of year close to Christmas with flus etc. In total between food (€870) , karaoke, where we also had additional friends join (€420) and drinks probably €500+ we spent close to the €2000 mark. Food and service were fine but nothing special, expensive as Dublin generally is but there are much better Japanese restaurants in Dublin. They are now refusing to return €60 of the deposit based on the fact that we had 3 friends not sit down for dinner with us, despite the fact we spent nearly €2000 in Maneki on the night. They are saying this is because we didn't have an accurate number of people for the booking 5 days prior to the date of the dinner - anyone that has an illness surely knows that you can't predict it five days beforehand and you are doing the right thing by not attending and spreading it to everyone else, despite this still 13 of us attended and there wasn't any money lost for Maneki. They have stopped replying to our emails and it has left an incredibly bad impression on our larger friend group who are all based in Dublin, none of us will return to Maneki again and will not recommend it to anyone in our wider circles based on the experience. Table was also delayed by 20 mins when we arrived and the karaoke room was also delayed by 20-30 mins. Mics were also way to high in the karaoke room which wasn't very enjoyable but the issue could not be resolved by the staff. To me, it seems that they take the deposit to make sure that you do not get some of it back, they made us even sign a waiver for the karaoke in case of any issues, seems like an incredibly greedy business model! Any of the Chinese restaurants on Parnell St are a much better recommendation for karaoke in Dublin :)

26/02/2026: Got served a half frozen half boiling cannelloni and don’t even get an apology. Sent an email which didnt even get a response. Service is slow and other food was jut ok. Expensive

22/02/2026: Good just ok, not great for the price 75€ per person for the 5 of us. There was quite a lot of food though, but the quality wasnt the expected, some of the dishes a bit greasy. Croquetas a bit disappointing The sangria 🍹wasnt nice, very strong, only a few bits of oranges and there was no flavour it basically looked like red wine in a jug, maybe spanish beer is a better option ( Estrella Damn) About the service, most of the waiters were extremely nice but some others were quite sharp 🥲 + something I liked is that we ordered more food but they didn’t serve it cause there would have been too much I want to think

25/01/2026: We spent €50 on two battered cod and chips and two battered scampi and chips. We received enough battered cod to feed eight people and wondered why they had given us so much, but, we soon realised it was because the battered cod was inedible. The battered scampi was also over cooked and again unfortunately inedible. The chips were ok. It is unacceptable to give over cooked food to customers who have paid for properly cooked food. This is an honest review that I not only hope will inform people to be aware of the food quality of this takeaway restaurant, but, also inform the restaurant that it is not acceptable to I believe knowingly give customers over cooked food. Shame on you. I would not recommend this takeaway restaurant at all.

19/01/2026: Some of the best Cod and chips you can get in Ireland. The chicken is excellent. The rest of the menu looks great and I look forward to checking it out.

30/09/2025: Atmosphere is amazing super cool love the layout interior design very fresh and unique super tasteful! I wish the food matched the atmosphere it was nice don’t get me wrong but have had much better Asian food it felt like an non Italian cooking Italian if that makes sense, hard to explain. We had the ribs for starters; they were ok came in three so hard to share for 2 people. I wish they where more “crunchy” also felt they where a bit bland taste have been better a bit bland like the meat didn’t soak up the flavours. The broccoli for starters was perfectly cooked and garnished. The lemon grass chicken was too sweet my friend couldn’t finish it. I really enjoyed my Mongolian fillet it was crunchy spicy vegetables perfectly cooked for 27euro u expect a bit more beef but that’s Dublin. Overall would give 5 stars but food was ok. Hang dai and big fan for Asian huge focus on food mainly! I would recommend this place as the atmosphere is superb and very tasteful. The food just needs some fine tuning !

27/09/2025: I had a really good experience here. The food was definitely amazing, the service was wonderful, everyone was nice and polite and happy to help. Definitely a five star for me.

15/08/2025: The name Fair Play feels rather ironic after my visit. I popped in hoping to grab a coffee to go, accompanied by my dog. Instead of a warm greeting, I was met with a raised hand from what appeared to be the owner, signalling that I should head outside. I obliged immediately, yet even then I wasn’t offered the chance to purchase a takeaway coffee. A simple, polite explanation would have been appreciated – and frankly, a takeaway option should have been the obvious next step. Sadly, the encounter felt unwelcoming and far from the hospitality you’d expect from a local café.

31/07/2025: A wonderful place, people are so friendly. Only stopped for a cuppa, but will definitely be back.

18/12/2025: Today I went out for lunch with my friend and we were served by Alba! She was incredibly lovely and attentive with us, and I’ll definitely be coming back!! Everything is really delicious and at a great price!!
