The best restaurants in Dublin

22/09/2025: We had breakfast there during our stay and enjoyed a Guinness or two in the evening. The breakfast was truly varied and delicious. The Guinness in the evening was, as expected (for Ireland), quite expensive. Overall, the service was good and attentive. In contrast to the rooms, the air conditioning/ventilation in the restaurant made for a rather airy stay.

17/09/2025: The food was super delicious!! Great vegan options. The staff was very friendly and very helpful.

19/06/2025: The are rude including the man there, he was so rude that I will never order anything there again or anyone I know. He told me to order the uber to pick up my food and said the food was ready. I ordered the uber, the uber arrived and the food was not even ready. Instead of him to apologize because he is costing me more money. He started speaking rudely to me and telling me "you listen". Just imagine! Well, very poor customer service even at the restaurant. I went there to eat a couple of times and the food takes over an hour to get ready even if you book ahead. Today, I ordered at 15:00PM and the food was not ready till past 17:00PM. And they open at 15:00PM so I’m wondering why it took so long. The man is rude, great food, but very very poor service.

12/06/2025: I’d highly recommend. Very affordable price for the food and beautiful aesthetics. Staff was very friendly and professional too. Solid 8/10. Would definitely go back.

16/09/2025: Sorry to say that, but this is a quite horrible place. Filthy as hell, nobody understands you (the Tuna Melt I ordered turned into a Chicken Pesto Roll) and it's just not a welcoming place at all. I think every prison canteen has more charm. A shame for a beautiful place like Marlay Park.

31/08/2025: Queuing system does not work. Even a short queue of about 7 or 8 people means a 20 minute wait for what becomes a melted ice cream or warm juice.

28/09/2025: Thank you, I come early in the morning and do abit of work from my laptop before library opens. The staff is very friendly! The milkshake is amazing:-)

15/09/2025: I hadn’t ordered from this takeaway in 9 years, it was underwhelming back then but holy wow has it changed! 🤤 My aunt and uncle visited this weekend and she kept saying she wanted to order from there on their last night so I cautiously agreed. I’m so glad i did, we couldn’t stop ‘wowing’! We had the crispy duck pancakes to start, Thai green chicken curry with noodles, sweet and sour chicken with rice, massaman chicken with rice, prawn crackers and an amazing surprise extra (we think it was the Thai honey something chicken). Generous portions, amazing flavours, everything was genuinely perfect. I love that they do both Chinese and Thai dishes, and I’m already planning my order for next week to show my husband when he’s home how much it’s changed. (We ordered and had it delivered via Deliveroo, I’m not certain if they Deliveroo if you order direct). You’re officially my new go-to! Right now though, I’m looking forward to my lunch leftovers, thank you! :)

08/08/2025: Food was horrendous and expensive 17:50 for a collection for one. Dry chips, cheap small cheap sausages, lumpy microwave curry sauce.

01/05/2025: Have eaten from here regularly over the years. Its a decent chipper, with very friendly staff. It can get busy but you're never waiting long to get served.

24/10/2025: I do not know if the staff is untowardly or just flat out racist. They are brusque, sometime flat out rude. I am inclined to think that it is only towards indians as not many other reviews suggest such a behaviour. The review won't change much but seriously, I hope you guys do a bit better.

07/09/2025: Love the restaurant as you know, but please do yourself a favour. Install a light in the bathroom please, extremely dangerous going in there with no light. My wife has a balance problem, had to stand in the hallway?And leave the door open, so she could use the bathroom.That's a little bit ridiculous. Going on 2 weeks now hasn't been fixed. I'm sure a big chain like yourself can manage to put in a light bulb into the bathroom,please. I'm sure you don't want to be claimed for a fall. It has been mentioned a couple of times but it feels like it's been on deaf ears. It's a Risk factor Cos when you shut the door you're in the dark what are you supposed to do. And the last thing your television in there is always breaking down. And the last thing, is allowing electric scooters to go into your premises and loads of them outside the doorway , somebody falls over them who's gonna be liable. It's on your premises. And allowing loads of youths in there at times that are just sitting over a drink and gangs of them in there what kind of a restaurant is it. I Feel the staff sometimes in there, are afraid to open there mouths. But at the end of the day that shouldn't be allowed to happen in the first place.

03/09/2025: Service was fine, as always. However, the last 3 times I’ve ordered from here the chips have been hard to eat. It’s like they have been refried several times. It’s shocking. I ordered a garlic cheese chip tonight and I couldn’t even finish it. I tried giving them the benefit of the doubt today but it’s been the same for my last 3 previous orders. I won’t be back

15/10/2025: It was originally a very good when it opened but the Chinese food is truly awful quality now. Typical bate and switch move to gain a market share in Lucan. Curry sauce is very watery now and the chicken breast is disgusting.

29/09/2025: The food was good but not really evenly seasoned the fries could have been better and for a 14 inch box it could've have been a bigger portion if I'm being honest you probably have too add a large spice bag to the 14 inch box if you are eating with 5 people plus but overall it's a good 6.7/10

13/04/2025: Ambiente/vibración fantástico, un retroceso total a los años 70 y 80, pero no se siente cojo y anticuado, comenzando por la sensación secreta de entrada y el viaje por las escaleras. Tranquilo, buena comida y una gran carta de vinos. El servicio también era excelente y la música encajaba con el ambiente. Estuve en Irlanda durante aproximadamente 2 semanas y este fue el descanso perfecto de la vida del pub. ¡Volveremos al 100%!

02/02/2025: Visitamos La Cueva con la esperanza de una auténtica experiencia gastronómica francesa, pero desafortunadamente, la comida y el servicio no cumplieron con las expectativas. Como nota positiva, el lugar en sí es hermoso y tiene un ambiente elegante, preparando el escenario para lo que esperábamos que fuera una gran comida. Sin embargo, la comida estaba lejos de ser auténtica, y nos dejamos cuestionando si el chef tiene formación formal en cocina francesa. Comienzo: La sopa de cebolla francesa fue decepcionante y careció de los sabores ricos y profundos que definen este plato. Principal: La caña de cordero era promedio en el mejor de los casos, y las guarniciones no la complementaban bien. Los sabores se sentían desiguales. Postre & queso: La selección de quesos sabía como si procediera de un supermercado local, y las galletas saladas eran galletas saladas estándar de Carr directamente de un paquete, difícilmente lo que se esperaría de un restaurante que tiene como objetivo ofrecer una experiencia gastronómica francesa. Tampoco había servicio. Mientras que los camareros eran amables, tuvimos que pedir todo — agua, limpiar la mesa, e incluso el siguiente plato. Hubo poca atención, lo que hizo la experiencia frustrante. En general, aunque La Cueva tiene un entorno hermoso y elegante, la comida y el servicio no estuvieron a la altura de las expectativas. Desafortunadamente, no lo recomendaría para aquellos que buscan una verdadera experiencia gastronómica francesa.

17/05/2025: As someone new to town, I had this place recommended to me. I arrived late tonight, just 30 minutes before they closed. An older lady kindly explained their chef had already left. However, she was incredibly helpful and still managed to serve me. She offered me lasagna, and it tasted great! I ate quickly so they wouldn't have to stay open late for me, but she never rushed me and even kindly warned me it was very hot. At the register, she even gave me an Italian bread to take home and try. I'm so grateful for her kindness. It meant a lot to me and really made a difference.
